These two men are so brave. I’m so sad they have to go through the media wringer again and again with reminders of their trauma and the man that hurt them. I’m thankful that I didn’t watch that show and I never will. I can’t believe how they just continued on and disregarded the survivors and victim’s families, but then again, I’m not surprised.

    • @Blahoblu

I agree, and I think they did a good job in telling the story with what they had. I didn’t feel for Dahmer at all during the show? I felt for the victims, their families but also Dahmers family. I didn’t know much of what Dahmer had done before watching the show. It doesn’t glamorize anything in my opinion. It just shows what a sick human being can do to others and get away with it for so long.

@@kazimierzmalewicz3604 no one can or will say Dahmer wasn't a manipulative monster, but there are many inconsistencies when it comes to Capshaw's stories. Dahmer also had a body type that he was going for, that was how he chose his victims, and Capshaw doesn't fit that stereotype, not even remotely. There are others who actually spent a night with Dahmer and were drugged but not killed, yet no one spoke of torture. Even when Dahmer gave a full confession about his crimes, almost everything he did to the bodies was postmortem. So yeah, Dahmer was a monster and a killer but what Capshaw says doesn't fit the profile what so ever. To me it seems he's just trying to make some money out of the whole thing.

Things were different back then. Homophobia and toxic masculinity were more entrenched. Billy said he felt ashamed because people didn’t believe/understand a man could be raped by another man and that it was ~a sign of weakness~. Billy didn’t want his father knowing out of shame. He was 17 and Dahmer was 19. Billy said it turned into a Stockholm syndrome type situation in that Dahmer would beat, rape and control him but also bought him books, played chess and tended to his wounds.
He’s not the only one…many men didn’t speak out until they were older. It was difficult for them to process and talk about. You need to remember the context and what abusers + context psychologically do to victims. In a way making them feel like they “deserve it”, there’s no way out, just the way things are so just accept it…the abuser had a normal/manipulative/almost charming side to them, you won’t be taken seriously, having a rape kit thrown out by the nurse etc. And then when they speak out, people blame the victim, which only makes it worse for their mental health. Also Billy said apparently one of their superiors in the military was a closeted gay man too, had “feminine mannerisms” and Dahmer would go into his office often. Billy suspected Dahmer was getting BJs from this man but had no evidence.

I guarantee the problems I have for you to solve are NOTHING compared to these brave men...

Everyone should think about what I am going to write. This seems strange to me! One of the first people they interviewed in the press after they arrested Jeff was none other than Billy Capshaw! Out of all the people ! Supposedly Jeff was only around Billy for a year and a half and they were not on good terms yet as soon as Jeff was arrested Billy was on television talking about him like he just saw him the day before.

He knew the difference between right and wrong. He said he did. He deserved what he got. Many people have hard lives and don’t do this. There is true evil in the world. What if it was your child that he drilled in the head? Would you feel like that?

I don't think he would have wanted help. He liked himself and who he was before the police got a hold of him. No one can be forced into therapy. Sometimes a monster is just a monster. Their is no point or rhyme or reason to evil.

@@FraterPerpetuusCoegi Things were different back then.

Who had removed all information, ad why it was used fake identities about victims. And much much more. I think victims families know much more than it was told in court.
