Im glad ur understand the series. A lot of ppl are a bit disappointed bc they don't understand that it's not about the games this time around. Its about Gihun and the front man and their ideologies of ppl and what's right or what matters or doesn't matter. I also like how u understand that the frontman is aware of everything. Many ppl are mad at the cop.bc he never told him who the frontman is but if he had inho probably wouldn't have joined the game he would've come up with another strategy
And it's also about the illusion of choice and control. Gihun knows that the makers of the games are evil and prey on people's desperation but the frontman thinks that no it's ppls fault bc they are given a choice and still choose the game yet they have been controlling everything Gihun and the cop have been doing while they think they have a chance to dismantle the games.
I think they always rotate games, except the Red Light, Green Light. When the VIPs joined last season, they also didn't know which game was played, and needed the bridge game explained to them - though it seemed like they knew that game in general, just not that it would be part of the roster. There are probably a lot of games the organisers choose from, and it's fun for the watchers to guess which would be next.
Korea is still a very conservative country, despite what the content we put out tries to convince otherwise. We are slowly changing, yes, but from others’ perspectives, we’re still far behind, especially on topics about racial and gender equality. Gong-gi is a game that is traditionally recognized as a child’s game that only girls play as a group in Korea. I remember playing it with my friends in elementary school during break times. A man knowing how to play Gong-gi would most certainly stand out, and most Korean men who claim to know how to play it would certainly attract some raised eyebrows and feel the need to defend themselves to save their masculinity. I love the reaction and love even more your reviews. Thank you always!
11:27 Our triangle soldier woman is technically higher up than the circle grunt that the detective was pretending to be, so it makes send her room would be nicer than the one we saw last season. I like that we get to see a soldier's POV. Its interesting to learn that she was recruited for the first time so long ago and why. It may explain why the workers can be so young... targeting vulnerable young people is the best way to indoctrinate them.
When Jun Ho was looking through the binders last year, he saw his brother’s name in the book of winners. It showed him as the winner of 2015. Then he went to the binder of year 2015 contestants and found his brother’s picture. So he was a previous winner - they just haven’t explained how he became the front man, though I do believe I know the reason for that. Also, I’m pretty sure they do different games every year because last season the VIPs had to have the games explained to them when they were there.
In season 1 some of the VIPs didnt even know what Squid Game was which implies that the games are different each time. Either the first game is always Red Light Green Light to get rid of a large group or they purposely choose it again to make Gi-Hun the enemy and to have the Frontman prove a point. To answer a question you had the Frontman did win the games before
Agree with everything you said about the repetition. It's the whole point of the system. I actually enjoyed the repetition and call back. Especially with how the participants think and react. There's a pattern for sure. And the game has been around for so long because they understand this pattern on human behaviour. Hence they have effective games and environment that will drive ppl to act in the same pattern & resulted in the same outcome.
Honestly I want to thank you for understanding this season so far based on what you said that the games is a cycle and I too think that the reason we are getting different games is to fucked gi more.
The actor of Thanos, the player number 230, is a real rapper in real life. His name is T.O.P in a boyband BIGBANG, the OG King of K-Pop. He was caught using a little weed, and it's for medicinal if not wrong. Since then, he's demonized by the K-Netz. It has been years, now he's back to the entertainment as Thanos.
Front Man won the year's games (I think it was 2015) and then was recruited, or moved up the ranks to be Front Man. Like the Recruiter who mentioned he was initially working as the one removing bodies to being tasked to shoot the losing participants to eventually becoming the Recruiter.
I feel like Red Light, Green Light is always a staple first game since the rules are pretty simple and it's effective to mow down a whole chunk of players.
Yeah, I saw a lot of people saying they changed the games because Gi-hun was helping people. But they'd have to change it anyway to keep the VIPs entertained. Do they think they just built the new arenas in a day?
I appreciate the amount you upload. It's like Omn1 Christmas all the time ❤😂 I enjoyed seeing the side organ operation and #11. She's such a badass! And 001 is a great foil for 456 and I want to see more of the backstory, since I'm sure 001 feels like 456 will end up just like him with lost faith in humanity
it's okay to call her "granny" because in S. Korea, if you were to see a woman her age, you'd call her the Korean word for grandma, "halmeoni." they are all about honorifics in Korea, emphasizing specific language for a person older than you as a sign of respect.
It's interesting. Here old people love to be seen as young. It's pretty rude to say grandma to someone just because they are old (the way the TH-camr did it wouldn't be seen as disrespectful due to the wholesome tone but yeah eh don't do that to strangers here...)
@ixagonczi where are you from? I'm curious. wherever you're from, it's obviously very different from Korean culture. there, being a grandmother or grandfather is something to be respected and honored.
@ I didn’t say that though! I meant that when someone is depressed they sometimes tend to use these kind of things. I only said “cuz of his depression” because people are assuming he is this bad person who smoked weed for “fun”.
Your ending discussions are always so in-depth. I like watching a lot of reqcters, but their ending diacussions are just very superficial. Just a discussion of what they see, not the depth of the actual STORY.
omg I can't stand Player 100 (the old man) either 🤬 he's like the thug character from last season for me, instead of Thanos who I actually find entertaining
The actor is even worse, got in trouble for trying to solicit s*x from a minor years ago and fled the country until ppl forgot about it and he could make a comeback in the industry
Il nam would never have died they wouldn't have allowed it. His cuffs in tig of war were not locked if you go back and watch season one. Player 001 always has an out and never fully commits to actually die during the games.
230 aka TOP real world controversy was partaking in weed and I think liberal medication taking. The amount of hate and shunning he received instead of help and assistance was deplorable but I understand I'm saying this through the lens of being a US citizen vs Korean culture and what they value but other kstars sa'd girls and "nothing" happened to them
only Korean kpop stan would do something like that, they want all idols are perfect,if u not what they expect they would do everything to destroy them, however ppl can accept actors doing terrible things
the trouble that the actor who plays thanos got into was just smoking weed. it's not that bad but korea is super conservative so drugs is one of the worst things you can do. please don't misunderstand the actor, he's a great person and super talented, just that one little mistake pretty much impacted his life. im so happy to see him on screem tho!

How would the frontman know that his cop brother would’ve told the main character that he is the frontman?

how did it seem like they knew it? I thought everything was pointing towards them being completely unfamiliar with it

Cool. I really like Season 2- I'm bingeing people's reactions 😆
Yes In-ho won his season
Same!
What do you mean by “in ho won his season”?
@thatgirlwearingglasses4133 Ha Oops not season but his game. In-ho won when he competed before he became the Front Man
10:10 yes in-ho/the frontman won the games in 2015
I’ve been surprised how many reactors forgot that. I feel like that’s one of the few core pieces of information we ended season 1 knowing about him.
When Jun Ho was looking through the binders last year, he saw his brother’s name in the book of winners. It showed him as the winner of 2015. Then he went to the binder of year 2015 contestants and found his brother’s picture. Yeah I’m really glad the pregnant lady joined Gi-hun’s team. I really hope she makes it through this whole ordeal
Last time we only saw the circles'rooms. Her room is probably better because she's a triangle (higher rank).
That's what I thought
Does it? It looks different (oriented longways instead of shortways), but it doesn’t look any nicer or larger than I remember from Season 1 to me.
In season 1 some of the VIPs didnt even know what Squid Game was which implies that the games are different each time. Thanos is T.O.P from legendary Kpop group BigBang, one of the OG Kings of Kpop,
The puzzled look on your face seeing the games is priceless.
Honestly I want to thank you for understanding this season so far based on what you said that the games is a cycle and I too think that the reason we are getting different games is to fucked gi more.
Same here. My exact sentiments and reasons for staying subscribed to this channel for more than 3 years.
Hopefully he will rejoin BIGBANG.

20:10 She actually called HIM and he declined😂😂😂😂
Hyun-ju is a BAMF, favorite character of season 2
RIGHT. A girlboss
I feel like Red Light, Green Light is always a staple first game since the rules are pretty simple and it's effective to mow down a whole chunk of players.

Player 001 &456 both are DADDIES👀🛐❤️🙈🫦🥵✨👑

Doesn’t seem respectful to me.

7:04 lol he only smoked some weed cuz of his depression 7 years ago, ppl acting as if he was some addict or sth
Weed isn’t an anti depressant.
@ I didn’t say that though! I meant that when someone is depressed they sometimes tend to use these kind of things. I only said “cuz of his depression” because people are assuming he is this bad person who smoked weed for “fun”.

They’re not that in-depth. He basically just rehashes the episode.
funny thing, the actors of Thanos and 001 starred in a movie together as enemies (IRIS: the movie)
Remember, in Season 1 when the beds were removed from the room, all the games were on the wall.
omg I can't stand Player 100 (the old man) either 🤬 he's like the thug character from last season for me, instead of Thanos who I actually find entertaining
Same!! Even tho thanos is an ass at I found him more entertaining than the old man imo

I'm Thanos (230)fan❤❤❤
Can you imagine the Straw Hats doing these types of games.
Grandma 149 is based

2024: Thanos v Storm Shadow. Life is good!
