It is true. Experience coupled with higher qualification is great. Thank you for this. 😊🙏

Definitely advance quicker and in high level roles. When working in certain areas of research you must have qualifications. Experience and education, see it all the time during audits and inspections

RMA with 17 years clinical - 2.5 years oncology research and now senior clinical coordinator. I respect anyone that goes after their dream of a degree but your right. - research is ROI.
Once you start learning the role and players- the game changes and the pay increases. When we hire- we look for that passion. You find the person for passion for research- the degree is negotiable.

Thanks for being realistic, I have no experience in clinical research, interchangeable with a Masters's degree.

I find it challenging to get into clinical research right now. I have a master in Public Health and I looking into entry level jobs, I feel they may not take me seriously since my last job was a lab manager. I just had a resume evaluated to attract my jobs, I hope it works.

What if you’re doing a thesis-based masters that involves running a randomized clinical trial? (i.e., you’re involved in the trial design, protocol writing, IRB submissions, data collection, and data analysis). Would that count as clinical research experience?

That definitely counts for something but it is still academic and not actually doing it. While that is as close to real as it gets, nothing beats real experience but this comes close.

Was the MBA useful for you as a site owner? Could it be useful to move up (executive level) at a CRO?

Honestly it hasnt helped too much for site ownership but it would help land a career or occasionally doing some assessments at the site that requires masters and higher
