I loved the part where Christian Bale said, "I live in the American Gardens Building on West 81st Street on the 11th floor. My name is Patrick Bateman. I’m 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine.
In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion.
In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory.
And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there." then ruined the love and the thunder

To me the movie would’ve been greatly improved by cutting *almost* everything with the guardians and everything with the city of gods, and just spending that screentime fleshing out Gorr’s relationship with Thor
Thor’s dynamic with the guardians was weird and bad and all of them seemed like they just hated him- they should’ve dedicated a bit more energy into Star Lord’s conversation with Thor and taking it seriously like they’re having a heart to heart instead of in the movie where it’s kind of just Thor being kicked out because nobody likes him and being oblivious about it.
The whole city of gods was basically pointless, they added nothing to the film. It should have been that the gods were already wiped out when they got there and they had to fight Gorr there and have a clash of ideals between Gorr and Thor. Something that involves Thor demonstrating the fact that love gives him strength and basically giving something for Gorr to chew on- actually setting up the end.

@@blbblb21223 which is fucking stupid. If I'm trying to watch a movie, don't waste 1/3 of the runtime setting up a different movie. I didn't come to see Herc's origin story for a future movie, I came to see Gorr, who only got like 10 minutes of screentime
besides, if you changed that whole scene to thor coming across gorr killing all the gods and spent that time together like I said, you can have the movie still actually set up a hero/villain dynamic, AND literally an almost identical post credits scene to set up Hercules. We thought Zeus was dead but he isn't, and he tells Herc to go after Thor for stealing the lighting bolt off of his body.

I enjoyed the movie and had the same criticisms as Charlie... the jokes and comedy made me smile at best and had me stoned face at worst... They didn't take the plot too seriously and they can just teleport whenever they want... but I can let the teleportation criticism go since they are all powerful "gods" they can do whatever they want.
Overall the movie was still good for me... great villain, action, visuals, the story was simple but still good... its a great family movie.

I honestly agree with this for the most part. My thoughts watching this movie was that it felt like one of those parody spoof movies we used to see, the "Scary Movies", "Epic Movie", "Meet The Spartans" and so on. The movie got a few chuckles out of me but for the remaining duration of it I just groaned (and lucky me I went to the first session of the day so luckily there were few people there).
From here I'm entering a bit on a spoiler rant
I got sick of the constant gag of the goats screaming pretty quickly, it just got annoying at that point. The whole "let's make Stormbringer" a jealous sentient axe hammer idea just did not land, especially since none of these weapons ever had a personality throughout the movies to begin with. Bending pre-established stuff just to make a few haha scenes ain't right. Also the pacing, good God the pacing of this movie was insane. It felt like I was strapped to the front of a bullet train because it just went by extremely fast. It's like they were on an any% speed run to just to get the plot going. Just all-in-all the movie just falls way too flat because of the jokes. I couldn't get invested in it, and while Gorr was not bad he unfortunately did not leave a mark on me. I loved the scenes he was in but he didn't really leave a huge impression. It just felt like a parody of Ragnarok, if they scrapped 65-70% of the jokes I believe the movie would've turned out better.

@@Kidcrowley Different strokes for different folks. Your complaints didn't resonate with me at all. I thought there was lots of chemistry between Kravitz and Pattinson. Lots of eye f**king. I mean Zoe just oozes sex appeal. The first truly sexy female lead in a Batman movie since Michelle Phieffer. And I was moved by Bruce's interaction with the kid everytime. The ending choked me up and few movies do that to me. Speaking of which, the ending was so satisfying. Moreso than DK and Rises, and I still love those movies. 'The Batman' certainly has flaws and some eye rolling plot moments but that's every comic book movie. I'm so tired of "magical multi-verses" and Marvel's constant quips. 'The Batman' felt grounded, layered, and authentic. For the first time we got a Batman movie that truly felt like the Batman from the comics I read as a kid. Can't wait to see where Reeves takes the sequels.

I thought a lot of the jokes were supposed to be cringy such as when the god was making fun of Gorr at the beginning or when Zeus was making jokes. It showed that the gods don't really care, and they're making fun of people. It also seemed to me like people weren't laughing at Zeus because he was funny, they were laughing at him because he's Zeus (hence why Valkyrie and Jane seemed to roll their eyes every time he spoke). That said, the goats was annoying after the first time.

I saw Thor at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
    He said, "It's Thorggle time!”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to not hammer it up,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Back when Ragnarok released, everyone praised it, and the only real backlash it got was that it had way too much comedy. That's a pretty big hint for Taika to chill with the comedy and make the next thor movie a bit less spoofy, but nope, he instead made it more spoofy and comedic than ragnarok😒
The tone of this movie should have been more like Infinity War, where there is some comedy and lighthearted scenes present sure, but there is also a serious dark sinister edge to it. The overload of comedy was just such an idiotic decision considering that this story tackles cancer, family loss, heartbreak, etc... A more serious tone could have benefitted this movie so much better, and no one would have complained that Taika is just rehashing ragnarok. Funny how the first two thor movies were too shakespearean and too serious while the two latest thor movies are too juvinile and comedic, they really need to stroke a balance between serious and comedic so that everyone is satisfied
