@@GroundGloryGoalkeepingty for your training I was watching. You for 2weeks ams today is the final your vids help me and I hope they help today in the finel
For shots that seem impossible, and do not give much time to set yourself for proper technique, I just throw myself at the ball and try to land on fleshy areas and not my joints because as a keeper you cannot worry about small injuries like bruises, because so much worse can happen especially when you challenge a striker for a low ball at the edge of the box for example. I have gotten stomped on my fingers and feet, and kicked in my stomach and head in those situations. Loved the advice for high dives, I really needed that. Thank you so much.
I totally get what you mean - sometimes, it’s all about instinct and just throwing yourself at the ball. You’re right, as a keeper, you’ve got to become accustomed to a little "pain", and protecting yourself by landing on the fleshy areas is smart to avoid those more serious injuries. Glad the high dive advice helped!

how to save powerful shots
Great question! Saving powerful shots is all about technique, positioning, and reaction. Here are some tips to help you:
1️⃣ Positioning: Make sure you’re in the right spot relative to the ball and the goal. Good positioning reduces the distance you need to cover.
2️⃣ Hand Placement: Keep your hands slightly in front of you in your ready position, palms open, and fingers spread. This makes it easier to react quickly.
3️⃣ Soft Hands: Absorb the impact by slightly cushioning the ball when you catch it, instead of having stiff hands. For extremely powerful shots, consider parrying the ball to the side instead of trying to hold it.
4️⃣ Body Behind the Ball: When possible, get your body behind the shot so even if it slips through your hands, you can still block it with your chest or legs.
5️⃣ Reaction Drills: Practice reflex and reaction drills with fast-paced throws or kicks. This improves your ability to handle quick, powerful shots.
Keep practicing, and don’t be afraid of those shots-power saves come with experience and confidence! You’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽🔥
