Harland Sharps are my go to. I have used them for 40 years now and no failures except for the ones they made for my RA5 heads. I cant blame them totally for that though because it was the heat treat that failed.
I wasn't sure if theyd fit when I bought them because I don't have much room under my brake booster for tall valve covers but luckily they fit under the stock height aftermarket covers. However, at .530" lift it's not a big cam
The integrity of the nut is not compromised. We just purchased shorter ones which still have plenty of thread engagement. Easy fix and less expensive than buying different valve covers.
They're called poly locks.....u shud know that, and cutting a poly lock just to fit stock valve covers is a BAD idea, how bout an aluminum spacer, so its non-sequitor.....Ford does it for their FE's.........i think thats smarter than cuttin poly locks.....do what u want, MAKE A SPACER.....cutting poly locks is a bad idea!!.....i wont condone ur solution......its a band aid, that has valvetrain stability gettin to scary positions.......i know, now, i'm an A-hole.....DONT BAND AID it, MAKE A SPACER!!!..... or just run a taller valve cover....i'm done with this all....i'll stick with Kauffman and Nunzi......just fundamentally disagree.......NOT a good solution, a SPACER IS!!
Easy LOL, Okay we can call them poly locks, but technically they are a rocker adjusting nut. Im not sure I follow your reason for not cutting the nuts down ???
