My family and I recently booked 9 nights at the Excalibur. Upon walking in, we were hit with the smell of cigarettes and pimps. On our 2nd night there, my 2 daughters were using the restroom in the casino area and one of the cleaning ladies entered the restroom. After my older daughter came out the restroom, she noticed that her phone that she placed on the bathroom counter was missing. When she asked the employee about her phone, she became very defensive and called for security. When we went to talk to the security, they were automatically defending her, and was so rude to us. Coincidentally, there was another guest complaining about her missing phone and she said that she suspected that it was also a cleaning person. The ended up trespassing my daughter because the cleaning lady said “she was in fear for her life”. We all decided to leave at 2am to find another hotel. One of the security officers name Keith was one of the biggest assholes I have ever encountered! We will be sending a few emails and making a few phone calls. They treated us as if we were staying in their hotel for free
I fully agree with your assessment of Tropicana. I was there a few months ago and it was disgusting. The carpet in the room had several stains. The chair had stains on it. The tub in the bathroom was cracked. It was truly awful. I stayed one night and had to move hotels. Do not stay there if you can help it!
A fight broke out in the next room from mine and my at the time boyfriend’s, security banged on our door and tried to enter, we told them “Wrong room! Next door! Leave us alone!”

I lived in Vegas a few years ago and had some friends come into town to visit. They decided to stay at the Excalibur. The hotel is definitely very dated and dirty but that wasn’t the worst part. I went into their room one night and saw a bug crawling on the bed. Now I’m not saying it was a bedbug but it was a bug and it was on a bed 🤷🏻♀️

And when you said “Excalibur”, I said, “THAT’S IT!” You were SOOO on point when you mentioned how it smelled like Newports. It really reeks in there. My friends had to get their room changed because of bathroom/ water pressure issues. But we had a great time overall in Vegas & we used the hotel to just sleep.
My wife and I were very disappointed by the Rio. For all the reasons you mention, and more. Initially, we chalked it up to being in Vegas not long after restrictions were lifted, but after more time, and from talking to others who had been there in recent years, we realized that it was in a steep decline. Rooms were dated. The sofa in our room was broken down. Our shower didn't drain very well. Dark and dingy casino spaces. Very few table games. Much of the staff was rude and unwelcoming. However, I will say that the Voodoo Steakhouse, Comedy Cellar and bed were nice.
I have been to Vegas several times in the past 25 years and have stayed at four of the five hotels in this video and I have to agree with most of your comments, the rooms and casino is very old looking. The biggest disappointment for me has been the Rio, I have stayed there several times and watched it dropped from a great hotel to a so-so hotel.
So glad to see that others have terrible experiences in Vegas. Went to Vegas for the first time during the pandemic. Still lots of people everywhere, but my daughter booked us at the Golden Nugget on Fremont. The ONLY reason she booked there is because she wanted to see the swimming pool with the shark tank in the middle. She was told that the pool was closed. It did not state that on their website, unlike other motels that posted all their COVID information When we got to our room we discovered that we had double beds instead of queens (it was my daughter, myself and her son) so two of us would be sharing a bed. The room was tacky, dirty, and there was a hole in the wall under the bathroom sink. The entire room smelled moldy. We opened the curtains to discover all of the air conditioning units directly under our window. My daughter went back down to the front desk to protest that she had booked a room with queen beds and not double, the room was dirty, and the AC units were very noisy. The clerk was rude and said that they could not refund her and we would just have to deal with it. We were there two nights and she wouldn't even refund the second night. She finally conceded and let us have a roll away bed for no charge. Thanks for nothing. IF I ever go to Vegas again, I will definitely read all the blogs, reviews, etc. before making a choice of motel.
@@cartierwhite_lasvegas its because you go to cheap places. i can already tell because you are complaining about price. i go there and spend money without stress, because im blessed. its not expensive to people like me.

I took a Uber to Circus Circus one year to visit the Fundome. The driver told me as I was exiting his vehicle “under no circumstances should you eat anything here from any place” . Once I entered, I fully understood.
The Marriott is a great place to stay, it’s a “vacation club”/hotel so the rooms are like apartments fully loaded with everything you need full sized kitchen with everything, I absolutely love the place.
Just got back from the Marriot Vacation Club last Saturday. I’m a Marriot and Hilton gold member and needed a suite for my son tonhave his own bedroom. Had a two bedroom “villa”. It’s no villa but check in was a breeze , nice full kitchen , master bedroom jacuzzi tub and a walk in double headed rain shower. Really sweet. I originally booked the Hilton but after the reviews about horrible service , bad check in, and theft, I cancelled the Hilton and stuck with the Marriot. Glad I did. I Stayed there with my 17 year old son after a 2 week RV trip around the southwest and was very pleased. It’s right across the street from the miracle mile so easy access to PH and stores ( really for the daily slice of Pin Up Pizza) and a short walk to the Mirage and Strip. Can’t beat the location and the service was top notch - walk up check in and two bedroom suite ready hours early. It also was 1/3 the price of the Hilton who wanted $900 / night for a two bedroom. We were around 350/night before taxes and fees at Marriot
Vegas Tips and Tricks yep I know people who like Excalibur and will disagree with this list, which is perfectly cool with me. But I also know that most people don't like Excalibur lol and I've been in there enough times to rank it 2nd worst
I've stayed in every hotel on your list, except OYO, which I'd never heard of. It was a long time ago. The Tropicana would have been my #1. Rooms were dingy and small. Driving into their parking lot, which was toward the Hooters restaurant, There was a stop sign, where your car is facing the window of a downstairs room. I saw a couple of ladies who appeared to be getting dressed. When I went inside, I knocked on their door, to let them know that anyone driving by could see them undressed. It was a group of Asian young ladies. They thanked me for my concern. As I walked away, they had a good laugh. It turned out they were pros, advertising their wares, in the window!! 🤯 I was shocked and embarrassed, with my naive ass! 🤣🤣🤣
My fist trip to LA I saw the nightlife, I said to my group, this is such a "happening" place, look at all the women having fun down the sidewalk at 1 am. Years later I realised they were working the street. This was the 80's and I was 15 and I came from a rural area.
Wow! Great video. Thanks for the info. My friends stay @ Red Rock and raved about it! I guess my wife & I would try there. Sad. I’m on the east coast near Atlantic City and AC really went down over the years. Sound like Vegas going down.
The Jockey Club is a hidden gem. Literally hidden. (Tucked between the Cosmo and Bellagio) It would've been torn down ages ago had it not been for it being a timeshare place, but like most timeshare places, they also function as a hotel because they want to fill their empty rooms last minute. The rooms are literal apartments with bedrooms, bathrooms, and full kitchens. (Full size fridges, ovens, microwaves, with cabinets full of dishes.) It's a little quarkery but definitely worth it. All for the price of a room at the Cosmo or any of the other surrounding properties that may not even have a mini-fridge. I have never owned a timeshare but when I visit Vegas, I always try to get a room at the Jockey Club.
We JUST got back from staying at the Jockey Club. It was AWESOME. We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen. It was sweet. Beautiful view, comfy beds, two flat screens. It was nice.
I've been going to Las Vegas for over forty years and your descriptions are on point. The Oyo I'm not familiar with. Excalibur is dated. Circus Circus is dated. Rio which used to be very nice and lively when they had the Voodoo club on the roof is now a desolate looking building. The staff was nice but it seems like the owners are not putting any money into it. And the Tropicana is a joke. The worst design ever. You should be able to check into a hotel without seeing the casino. These corporations are not spending enough money up keeping these properties. Treasure Island, a nice themed hotel is a little dated too. Save a few extra dollars people and stay at Bellagio or the Venetian, Ceasers etc. It's costs a little more but you'll feel safer because Las Vegas as a whole is a very shady city. Scams everywhere, thieves everywhere, crooks and robbers everywhere. You have to be very aware in Vegas. With that said if you do your research you can get alot of comp things and big discounts for shows and the like. I agree with your list 100%. Alot of people don't realize the moment you land in Vegas the scammers and thieves are watching you. Even the cab drivers will get you. The strip is five minutes from the airport but if you don't know the cab driver will take you on the highway for 15 minutes and charge you more. Truth be told they need to demolish the entire area and rebuild it. There was a time in Vegas if you lost all your money they would give you gas and food vouchers to get home. Since the government forced the mafia out and the corporations took over it's just another business to them and their only focus is to get as much of your money as they can without any loyalty to you. Go to Vegas it's a nice place but definitely keep your 👁👁open all the time.
I went to Las Vegas with my mom back in 1990 and we stayed at Excalibur and when I see how far the hotel has fallen in terms of customer service and how it looks on the inside now it breaks my heart. Some of the hotels have become so sketchy in Las Vegas it makes me think back to the scene in war games where they decided to Target Las Vegas
We had to stay at Excalibur after a shady Airbnb vendor tried to pull a bait & switch. Needless to say this was not how I wanted my first trip to Vegas to go. Horrible, poorly maintained, shabby, DATED & smoke filled property. My lack of knowledge & last minute circumstances are to blame for staying at Excalibur, others seemed to be repeat customers who didn't mind the low end experience. I will never make the mistake of staying there again.
Stayed at Tuscany Gardens earlier this year. It was great. The rooms are dated but clean, the employees were pleasant and helpful. The pool area was great and the restaurants were all great🤗
Resort fees have ruined Vegas. I remember staying in Vegas for $19/night back in the day. Now it's $19 + $50 resort fee + parking fee. Honestly, I'd rather sleep in my car.
I stayed in the newly renovated side of excalibur with my family a few years ago. It was awesome. My sister in law stayed in the other tower and had a completely different experience than me and my family. Great list too by the way
Lol, I'm in Vegas alot for business and enjoy staying at the Tropicana. It's low key away from all the craziness but just close enough to hit the strip & the other casinos. Plus parking is free.
I'm heading to Vegas for my bday in a month been multiple times but not since 2019. I've not stayed at any of theses locations but was considering the Tropicana. Decided on Park MGM since I'm seeing Usher there. Glad that worked out !
Absolutely loved Park MGM. I went to see Silk Sonic at the Dolby in May. I'm going back to see Usher in September. I will stay at the Park MGM again. It's excellent. Great rooms and service. I ate at Denny's across the street and on the strip. Have a fun time.
Harrahs/Caesar’s never put any money into the Rio for updates or even repairs. I always felt like they wanted to drive their customers to one of their Strip properties so they could sell The Rio and be done with it.
Thank you for being one of the few who are honest enough to put the Tropicana on this list. I'm sick and tired of people saying it's good, or even ok. The place has taken a big dump. It literally has zero redeeming qualities. Decor, gaming, dining, rooms, service. it's just bad. Once upon a time the Rio was great, but last time I was in there, it was basically empty and I had a homeless person keep coming up to me at a slot machine asking for money and cigarettes. Security did not care...and the rooms are downright filthy in some cases. I felt like the Excalibur was pumping body odor through the ventilation system in order to try and cover the cigarette smoke last time I was there. Arizona Charlie's on Decatur is the closest I've been to smelling as bad as the Excalibur with smoke. And there is still a big honking Hooters sign on the front of the OYO, they still have a restaurant inside. I think they sold it because they realized they had no business running a hotel/casino. The Flamingo is trying its hardest to creep onto this list too
My company would always book us at the Circus Circus. I always said it was like sleeping a Walmart...same eclectic group of people, same discount products. I'm surprised that any hotel beat Circus Circus.

The Luxor is such an awful design in so many ways - the distance from the rooms to the elevators, the vast empty spaces. And the rooms are a weird shape. Not a fan
I just went to Vegas a few days ago with my kids and ur right it’s definitely not a place for kids 🤦🏻♀️ we stop by Circus Circus and it was horrible! On the way there sketchy people were passed out or going crazy, never again! Adventure Dome was terrible and falling apart.

I stayed at Tropicana last year and honestly I don’t think it was that bad. I thought their pool was pretty nice and the hotel is in a pretty good location. I actually enjoyed my stay there
I actually agree with his video. I stayed at Tropicana when it was newly renovated in 2011. It was amazing and clean. I went back in 2017, and it was disappointing. It looked more unkempt In the main areas. I actually had to switch rooms because the first room was disgusting, and when we went to the second room it was also disgusting.
This tickled MEEEE bcus, although I've never stayed at ANY OF THESE I've never liked these particular hotels just from simply walking in them, lol!! I just feel like if your casino is dated, them rooms gonna be dated, lol! First time watching and I subbed. Baby, when you said work an extra shift to NOT stay here, I died!!🤣😂🤣
Excalibur and Circus Circus always amaze me how they have a solid base of families as clientele but somehow they don’t invest in these properties to make them nicer. I visited Circus Circus for the first time last month after visiting Vegas for over 10 years and I actually found it interesting. It had stuff for kids to do but also the rotating casino floor, the slots a fun, buffet, stores, arcades and the amusement park. My first impression was how much would it cost for the owner to throw down some new carpet add some new paint maybe a few new restaurants and update the rooms. Looks like per Wikipedia Phil Ruffin is dumping 30 million into Circus Circus to make it nicer.
My sentiments exactly!! There’s a lot to do at Circus Circus with her shops, Aventuredome, etc., but they put NO money into updating the exterior, interior and definitely not the rooms.
I recently stayed at Excalibur in April it wasn’t bad it looked like it had been renovated and I’m picky. My group decided to stay in Vegas one more night and we chose this hotel for our last night I wasn’t expecting anything luxurious for the price but I have to say it was a decent room for the price.
I stayed last October and my room hadn’t been done but the bathroom had, it wasn’t bad. My kid absolutely loved the arcade there, not going to lie so did my husband and I. We stayed at Luxor too, we had a way nicer room there, but we still had more fun at Excalibur.
We stayed at Stratosphere in Dec 2016. The rooms were clean and modern, we had free passes to go up in the tower. The food was good. I did not see anything wrong.
The Strat was my very first stay in Vegas years ago. It was decent then. It has since upgraded and definitely can be tolerated!! Dont sleep on the Strat. It's on the bad end. But for the money. I would choose it over Harrahs and Ballys among others in a heartbeat. This is from an 8 time visitor from NC. Just make sure you do the upgrade "sandwich" it will get you a nice room on a nice floor for a 20 spot!! Trust me!! Lol
One of two things happened to me at Excalibur, I either saw a dark ghost swirling around my room and try to possess me, or I was experiencing sleep paralysis which i have never experience before.
I just got back from a long-ish stay at the Rio. The room was very big and it was clean (although there was one stain on the carpet). The a/c and the fridge worked just fine. The food at the Hash House, All-American Bar and Grill, and the Indian buffet were all very good; however, the Starbucks lineup for breakfast could take forever to move through. The "logo store" prices were pretty high but that's expected; I sometimes went to Walgreen's across the street for sandwiches, or to Chick-fil-A or Del Taco. The bus (the 202 Flamingo goes right by) costs $5 and you get a 24 hour pass. I agree certain sections of the Rio seemed a bit empty at times and a room right on the strip might have been better logistics, but all in all the hotel was far from the worst aspect of my trip
I totally agree as I have stayed at The Rio a few times & gotta say I think the Strat could've taken the place of the Rio on your list. I stay in the Super Suite when visiting the Rio for a stay and the room is nice & updated...the part of the casino going to thr lyft does look deserted but I think the hotel on a whole is not as bad as others you've stated. I travel to Vegas once or twice a month. I've never stayed at any of the others on your list except Circus Circus 🎪 which was back in 2007 which was my first trip to Las Vegas.
My list: 1) Circus Circus 2) Strat tied with The Golden Nugget (off strip) 3) Oyo 4) Rio 5) Tropicana tied with Excalibur I stay at: The Mirage, The Delano, Mandalay Bay, The Linq, Westgate, Planet Hollywood, If I'm on a budget- Harrah's
I stayed at Luxor last weekend. I walked through Excalibur to get to Luxor one night and it smelled so bad it gave me a instant headache. Like instant, almost ruined my day.
I happen to like Excalibur, here's why. it's close to the airport, a 7-10 minute drive. It has a Starbucks, which I like, and if you don't, they have another generic coffee stand right at the elevator entrance to both the Resort or Royal towers. It does smell like tobacco starting in late afternoon onwards. ALL casinos smell that way to me! If it bothers you that much you could take the tram/walk to Luxor or Mandalay. Right outside the front door is the pedestrian bridge to cross the street to New York or MGM. The Duce bus stop is a very short walk from MGM. I like that it's at the end of the strip, less people. The food court is decent enough. I have been to vegas many times and don't feel the need to spend money on a lux hotel room.
My family and I recently booked 9 nights at the Excalibur. Upon walking in, we were hit with the smell of cigarettes and pimps. Thank you for saying this cuz I was just about to book a suite with the tub in the room... thank for saving my money, time, and experience.
You messed up when you booked a room
At the Golden Nugget of all places…
I really don't recommend Vegas for a vacation it's not like nice or fun anymore, it's overpriced and the workers are just mean

I took a Uber to Circus Circus one year to visit the Fundome. The driver told me as I was exiting his vehicle “under no circumstances should you eat anything here from any place” . Once I entered, I fully understood.
That uber driver is wrong. They have one of the best steakhouse restaurants called the THE Steak House its really good.

The Marriott is a great place to stay, it’s a “vacation club”/hotel so the rooms are like apartments fully loaded with everything you need full sized kitchen with everything, I absolutely love the place.
We stayed there, not bad. We used Marriott points, I think we got a night free.
We were around 350/night before taxes and fees at Marriot
fantastic vid, I could listen to your measured takes on vegas hotels for hours. and i shall.
Good list I think. I know people who actually like Excalibur but I have never been one of them, even when it was just a few years old. Fun video Tim.
Vegas Tips and Tricks yep I know people who like Excalibur and will disagree with this list, which is perfectly cool with me. But I also know that most people don't like Excalibur lol and I've been in there enough times to rank it 2nd worst
The Vegas Paradise thanks for mentioning the bad hotels. 🏨 Planet Hollywood is the best!
Very smooth and relaxing voice
This sounds terrible. Can you give me a Google Maps Pin 📌 so I can make sure the shenanigans have stopped.
(😹👍🏿🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
The ladies probably once worked in the red light district in the Netherlands😫.
My fist trip to LA I saw the nightlife, I said to my group, this is such a "happening" place, look at all the women having fun down the sidewalk at 1 am. Years later I realised they were working the street. This was the 80's and I was 15 and I came from a rural area.
What can I say? America has a lot of opportunities for people from all over the world! 😄

Very valuable info.now we know & tk u Bro.
Stayed there with my friend once. It definitely was tucked away. Lol. But nice. We had a two bedroom/ two bath, and a nice big living room.
I have a timeshare and I stay at jockey club and polo towers, good bargains with full kitchens, eating areas, living rooms and multiple beds.
Polo towers is like that too and it was pretty nice. I have not been there in years tho.
We JUST got back from staying at the Jockey Club. It was AWESOME. We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen. It was sweet. Beautiful view, comfy beds, two flat screens. It was nice.
@@chantayk I have seen itbut didn't realize what it was. I was thinking it was some kind of strip club. I'll have to check it out
I've been going to Las Vegas for over forty years and your descriptions are on point.
I know you right. I will be in Vegas in November. And I will be at Caeser's THIS TIME. Because I will be spending the extra coins.
Thanks for the info. Was planning a trip to LV this summer, will definitely look at all other options. Thanks again for sharing
Thanks for the feedback. So the EXCALIBUR needs some deep cleaning.
@@coriander_shea Deep cleaning? The place needs to be cleansed with fire & rebuilt.

Stayed at Tuscany Gardens earlier this year. It was great. The rooms are dated but clean, the employees were pleasant and helpful. The pool area was great and the restaurants were all great🤗

Don’t stay at the Flamingo the Linq has updated their room’s
Thank you for sharing your video. It's valuable & helpful TIPS. I appreciate you greatly! Looking forward for more videos to come.
This review video is spot on! I have also stayed at Excalibur and I agree! Its so bad!
I'm heading to Vegas for my bday in a month been multiple times but not since 2019. I've not stayed at any of theses locations but was considering the Tropicana. Decided on Park MGM since I'm seeing Usher there. Glad that worked out !
Good choice Bro, the Trop sucks....
Park is excellent and very freshly done and most of all safe. I loved it.
Absolutely loved Park MGM. I went to see Silk Sonic at the Dolby in May. I'm going back to see Usher in September. I will stay at the Park MGM again. It's excellent. Great rooms and service. I ate at Denny's across the street and on the strip. Have a fun time.
You are really great at this!!!! Your very personable and your voice is perfect and your cpntent is really GREAT!!!!
I'm sad to hear how run down Rio has gotten. It was something special, back in the day.
Yeah, it was nice years ago.
Last time I was there was in 1999, it was great then.
It’s horrendous
The Rio does have a great view of The Strip, from your room.
Harrahs/Caesar’s never put any money into the Rio for updates or even repairs. I always felt like they wanted to drive their customers to one of their Strip properties so they could sell The Rio and be done with it.
Thank you for your review. My best hotel experience in Vegas was at the Four Seasons hotel atop the Mandelay Bay. Worst was the Excalibur.
The Flamingo is trying its hardest to creep onto this list too
I agree with your list and thanks for the warning lol..... Keep up the good work and honest reviews
My company would always book us at the Circus Circus. I always said it was like sleeping a Walmart...same eclectic group of people, same discount products. I'm surprised that any hotel beat Circus Circus.

Wow Tim really enjoy this video I am surprised that you listed Circus Circus as number four I thought it would be number one but I have thanks for the heads up on the worst hotels n vegas
This is a good assessment. So true.
I’m a local, and you nailed it. Well done. Although the Luxor feels pretty tired and there is NOTHING happening there at night.
The Luxor is such an awful design in so many ways - the distance from the rooms to the elevators, the vast empty spaces. And the rooms are a weird shape. Not a fan
You are spot on about these properties. Very informative video.

I liked the pool there. It was refreshing in the Las Vegas sun
Much appreciated Sir!
This tickled MEEEE bcus, although I've never stayed at ANY OF THESE I've never liked these particular hotels just from simply walking in them, lol!! Good job! Appreciated Sir! 🥰
I agree with you on Oyo, but I would of put the others in another order:
5. Excalibur
4. Tropicana
3. Rio
2. Circus Circus
Good information and your descriptions are hilarious 😂😂😂
I had the opportunity a few years back to go to vegas for New Years, the only catch was I had to stay at Excalibur. I stayed home that year. 🤣🤣

That’s Right!! Expose Those! Monsters!! Good Video 👑
I recently stayed at Excalibur in April it wasn’t bad it looked like it had been renovated and I’m picky. My group decided to stay in Vegas one more night and we chose this hotel for our last night I wasn’t expecting anything luxurious for the price but I have to say it was a decent room for the price.
I heard there were renovations going on there, but only in certain parts. You got lucky I guess
I stayed at Excalibur in 2018 and the room wasn't bad, I believe it was renovated. The hotel itself does need some work done to make it look modern
I stayed last October and my room hadn’t been done but the bathroom had, it wasn’t bad. My kid absolutely loved the arcade there, not going to lie so did my husband and I. We stayed at Luxor too, we had a way nicer room there, but we still had more fun at Excalibur.
I enjoyed my stay there last year 🤷🏾♂️
My problem with Excalibur was it’s smell. Something about the smell was so off putting to me.
YOU DID A GOOD JOB THANKS FOR YOUR WORK.
Stratosphere needs to be on this list!!! 😂
We stayed at Stratosphere in Dec 2016. The rooms were clean and modern, we had free passes to go up in the tower. The food was good. I did not see anything wrong.
They have updated rooms as well as old ass rooms.
@@kelleyhelms3826 The neighborhood around the Strat is a dump and it us just hard to walk anywhere. The hotel itself is not that bad.
The rooms are pretty cool.. ive always had the updated suite. The neighborhood is whatever. But i live in Las Vegas so it doesnt bother me.

So sad what happened to Rio. I used to manage a frys electronics and every year we would come down for CES. It was poppin back then!!
Solid list. Can't argue with it at all.
My list:
1) Circus Circus
2) Strat tied with The Golden Nugget (off strip)
3) Oyo
4) Rio
5) Tropicana tied with Excalibur
I stay at:
The Mirage, The Delano, Mandalay Bay, The Linq, Westgate, Planet Hollywood,
If I'm on a budget- Harrah's
I stayed at Luxor last weekend. I walked through Excalibur to get to Luxor one night and it smelled so bad it gave me a instant headache. Like instant, almost ruined my day.
Thank you for this update. Me and my husband stayed at the Luxor and the Aria. 😊
