All my real flying [80% IFR & ILS ] was done with 'Steam Gauges' in the UK & Europe. This is very helpful getting my head around the modern techniques etc.

Great video. Uber instructive. Question: how did you stop the plane for nosing up when you extended flaps? I always have to manually tip the nose down to counteract. Is that what you did or did you program something? Thanks!
Hi! There are two important points in an aircraft, it's center of gravity and it's center of lift. The center of lift, due to stability issues, is ahead of the center of gravity. Now, when you extend flaps, thus increasing lift ahead of the center of gravity, the airplane pitches up. Moving to what you are specifically asking, I don't program anything on the FMS to counteract for that. However, since the autopilot is "better" than a human pilot, it automatically trims down horizontal stabilizer of the airplane such that when you extend the flaps, the airplane is trimmed down just enough to stop the nose from actually pitching up, or at least not as much as it would if no correction was made. hey! I followed your tutorial step by step (I think), and all is good until get to top of decent and my plane never descends, even though I set the target altitude to 3000 feet, it never descends.... please help?
What a great tutorial. I am just transitioning from Garmin 530 to the G-1000. The approach waypoint altitudes is explained clearly. Of which I didn't understand at first and now I do. What a powerful GPS. Can the Garmin 530 do a similar feature such as this? I have X-plane 11 and X-Plane 12 with a 3 monitor setup. The frame rates are rather poor with version 12. I got a new graphics card to be installed so that will greatly improve frame rates. Frame rates in version 11 are fine but expect ramp up with the new card. Another question. Does the G-1000 operation work the same in MSFS 2020? Great video.

So, regarding your first question, I´m not sure if the G530 has a similar feature, but I think it only provides lateral navigation (I could be wrong, though). Regarding the second question, yes. All G1000 work the same (if they are well emulated), including MSFS2020´s one. @@flyscaviation Ok.... but this is a bit confusing. The video maker from x plane in the cessna 172 start up said that you can only use 1 button at a time, like you have only 1 hand. Maybe it’s pre ios 1.12 versions, later version may had added the capability to use multiple buttons at a time. Oh btw, you are able to use the right display. Is it another update feature? Cause I can’t use it in ios 1.12, where multiplayer don’t have the word “massive”
It's not X-Plane 10, its X-Plane 11. However, I do not remember the exact version number, like 11.8.2 or something. But I can assure you that what I explained in the tutorial works for version 12 as well.
