Amazing car. I own one now (just C2). It's ironic how ridiculously well priced these are. I saw a low mileage 993 2S 1997 sold for over 200.000 dollars just recently. You can buy ten of these for the same money. Craziness. Sure it's not air cooled and I admit it's not as beautiful, but it still drives like a small, agile and analog car (unlike the new bloated ones). Cheers.

Why is it not as beautiful? Because Porsche purists say so? I like it more a true legend, it's when Porsche broke away and broke into a new and modern design, the day will come when it will be appreciated just as much as the air-cooled cars simply for the fact that it was their first liquid cooled and modern design.

The 993 is rarer, of higher build quality, much smaller (it’s basically a modernized 1960s car), and the most powerful and last air cooled production car of all time (with the exception of the original Beetle)…
The 996 is a great car for the money because all 911s were the best sports cars of their era. But there are many objective reasons for the 993’s higher prices. The 996’s benefits are has better performance and cargo stats which don’t matter as much on classic cars.

@@adelaseeri768 I agree. But objectively speaking it's not quite as nice looking as the 993. But 996 still looks great and better every year as people start to respect the car what it is. Much more analog than the 991 and 992.

@@detonator2112The 996 is my favorite of all water-cooled Porsches.

at last theres an upload of the best light weight small 911 chassis ever made , this is the first gt3 chassis but without the extra weight , the gt3 , 4S was heavier & so was the turbo , it has the paris dakar winning 959 group B 4wd , PSM Yaw control before any JDM car , confidence inspiring it is , the 1999 Carrera 4 raised the the performance bar for every car manufacturer on the planet , this is not a boxster chassis , more a gt3/911 Turbo without the weight , but the 1999 Carrera 4 came first , the Carrera 4 also has the same slip aero as the le mans winning GT1 911 of this era , brilliant upload as i haven't been able to find it anywhere , thanks buddy. 😁

The turbo has a totally different engine

      Like he said it’s not a Boxster. It’s a 911 that’s like a GT3/Turbo but isn’t a GT3/Turbo…😆

How many miles? I'm thinking about buying one that has 79k miles. Have you run into any issues?

@@hudgypudgy2960 Bought at 55k now has a hair over 75k. Yes, there were a bunch of issues at first...had to replace a bunch of coolant lines because they were brittle from age and heat and kept leaking. Some other initial repairs like the OAS and fan speed resistors. But...since those were fixed, it's been amazing. I think it just comes with the territory when you buy a 20+ year old car that hasn't been driven every day. If you drive them every day they seem to be pretty happy cars. Good luck with buying.

I have a 2000 C4 millennium with 6mt. It still surprises me how fast it is on the highway considering I have owned much faster cars. The 996 gets internet hate but it’s my favorite generation of 911.

To think people paid a $12,000 premium over a manual coupe for a Tiptronic Cab…and now auto cabriolets are worth like $12,000 less than a comparable manual coupe.

Not even close. Only the fronts were the same. Boxter was mid engine with like 50 less horsepower

@@Mac10Daddy Don't try to explain to him why the 996 is good. Let the haters hate it, so that prices are kept low and we (the people who know they're actually good) can buy 996s for cheap!
