I grew up Muslim. My mom was raised Christian and for reasons similar to yours chose Islam before I was born. I’m not the perfect Muslim but Islam is the only religion I have ever truly connected with. I love how you did not bash any other religion and just said your truth about how you found your journey towards your peace Allhamdulilah, may life bring you nothing but blessings and peace 🩷

This is a poem I made long time ago when I reverted. All I can say is take it slowly.
    STEP BY STEP
    Welcome to Islam.
    Take it one by one.
    Every step forward is winning,
    every step backward is learning.
So stay focus and never stop walking.
Allah only count your steps and intention,
the result is up to Him alone.

I grew up as a Muslim, but reverts are always something like a role model for me. It fascinates me so much, the way you found the truth besides the fact that you grew up in a non-muslim family. All the struggles you go through within yourself, within your family, maybe losing them or losing friends. And yet you continue on your path. It's really fascinating and I'm pretty sure, that the reward will be great in this dunya and in Akhira insha Allah.

This is one reason muslim women wear hijab. Muslim ppl believe it is protection for society/woman.
As they cover their beauty it makes it more important for them to develop their personality, morals and intellect, to be defined by.
This makes them pleasant to talk to and hold real conversations around shared values, beliefs and long-term life goals that are also deep and transcend in nature.
It prevents ppl getting arrogant and getting a superiority complex based on superficial trates.
Keeps ppl down to earth, modesty. Trys to prevent self entitlement and Princess complex.
It trys to prevent the commercialisation/weaponising of "beauty", by it not being a publicly displayed and traded commodity/currency.
Trys to give women a break from having to compete with each other on just beauty, in open public. That can cause feelings of jealousy.
Helps to try to prevent an army of simps and street pestering. As her beauty is for HER and the special people SHE chooses in her life.
Helps to try to prevent insecurities trying to maintain unrealistic and unsustainable beauty standards, that are forever changing and expensive to uphold.
This can cause mental issues in people and the sense of constant judgement and body shaming from people that don't know you or care about your long-term good.
      Peace

Assalaamu alaikum Quai, it's wonderful to see you embracing your reality. I submitted to AL Islam in 1974 when I was 22 years old. At 72 years old in June, because of AL Islam I still feel and think like that 22yr old 50 yrs ago. It never stops being intellectually exciting. Never stop developing yourself by learning more and more every day. Especially the Qur'an and the history of our Prophet. Reading is the best method to grow and flourish.

I love the part when you said that you don't face any social pressure as a Muslim where you need to conform to be a Muslim. It resonates with me growing up as a born Muslim in a secular society like Singapore. One thing is that, while Islam is a one of the major religion in Singapore, this is somewhat a liberal country where you are free to practice Islam and not having societal pressure.
And like you, I take it as a blessing that being a Muslim Singaporean, God had bestowed me with His Bounty of freedom. The only thing that I have to think about is my accountability as a good person in general. And only He knows what's in my heart. Yet being a flawed human being, I too am given the choice of free will in that the gift of logical mind it's up to me to do the right thing.

I think it's absolutely incredible how you already understand these things about Islam that I have always felt like a lot of Muslims I meet don't really get. Allah really does guide the heart He wishes.
Another thing this proves is that we as Muslims make mistakes(and seek repentance from Allah everyday) but Islam is perfect.
So please follow Islam and not Muslims.

Somebody said Muslim fasting is easy because we eat breakfast but only misses lunch
And I said yes! Allah has made Islam easy for us
The Glorious Qur'an in chapter 3 verse 286 says:
"Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear…”
No Sheikh or Imam can increase the number of days (fasting) or extend the period beyond sunset.
It's just 29-30 days in a year, other ones are voluntary
And It's not only our fasting that's made easy
Even our way of worship is made easy for us
A Muslim can worship in any mosque
And If you can not find water to perform ablution, Allah permits use of sand
Furthermore, any Muslim that can not stand to pray due to circumstances can also do so while sitting and even in sleeping positions
Our Zakaat was made easy, it's just 2.5% of ones wealth per annum provided you're not indebted to anyone
Yes! 2.5% per year not monthly
And if you are to marry in Islam, just get both parents or representatives and conduct the program in less than 5 minutes, you're done
    Every other ceremony is man-made.
Burial in Islam is most easiest.
No need to start borrowing to give your parents or loved ones unnecessary befitting burial.
Once the person is proclaimed dead, get white clothes, bathe the dead, offer prayer and burry the dead. Finish, nothing else
To name your child is also easy, once the child is born, name him/her and...
...if you can afford sheep, buy and if unable to do so, forget it. No need to borrow
If you are to lend or borrow money, do so without collecting interest on loan.
And it's forbidden to hoard goods with the aim of re-selling when the price goes up
Just imagine if these are practice globally today
And if anything happened whether good or bad, just link it to Allah and not anybody
Islam is made easy, to become a Muslim
Just make sahada that "there's no gods but God and Muhammad (SAW) is His messenger"
Then know and practice the five pillars of Islam and believe only in the six things Islam enjoins us to believe. Nothing else.
These are just a few of the beauty of Islam.
Islam is beautiful, I'm proud to be a Muslim.
    #Ramadan 🌙 Mubarak .

just a quick note: modesty in Islam. Let me outline the key conditions for wearing hijab:
1.Coverage: The hijab should cover the entire body except for the face and hands. This requirement is based on the following verse from the Quran: “And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not display their adornment except only that which [ordinarily] appears thereof and to draw their headcovers over their chests” (Quran 24:31). The term “Khumur” refers to a cloth that covers the head, hair, neck, and bosom12.
2.Thickness: The garment should be thick and opaque, ensuring that it conceals the skin color and form of the body beneath it. Transparent or delicate clothing does not fulfill the proper covering requirement1.
Loose-Fitting: The hijab should not be tight; it should be loose and not cling to the body.
3.Not an Adornment: The hijab itself should not be an adornment. It should not attract attention due to its decoration or design. The goal is to promote modesty and avoid drawing unnecessary attention2.
4.Not Perfumed: The hijab should not be perfumed. Fragrance is discouraged as it may attract attention.
Not Resemble Men’s Clothing: The hijab should not resemble men’s attire. It should be distinctively feminine.
5.Not Resemble Disbelieving Women’s Dress: The hijab should not resemble the clothing of non-Muslim women.
6.Not for Fame or Vanity: The hijab should not be worn for fame or vanity. It should not be extravagant or excessively opulent345.
7.Remember that the hijab is not just about clothing; it also encompasses behavior and promotes privacy and decency.
These requirements are agreed upon by the majority of Islamic scholars and are supported by evidence from the Quran, Sunnah (Prophetic traditions), and the practice of the Companions of the Prophe
thats all , take care and know that you are doing this for the sake of allah.

    ❤️Narrated Abu Huraira:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, Verily Allah created Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into one hundred parts. He withheld with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent its one part to all His creatures. Had the non-believer known of all the Mercy which is in the Hands of Allah, he would not lose hope of entering Paradise, and had the believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allah, he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire."
