I thought this was a carbon fiber bel air at first and was all about it lol one thing I will say is that the bel air is probably still the best bugout IMO
It probably has the thinnest profile of any budget bug out competitor, same as pyrite. It's just a crossbar alt pyrite, idk why they insist on changing names for subtle variations. Same thing with a mini pyrite in the Micah.
@@GTGibbsIt's definitely for trademark reasons, since the patent for the Axis™ Lock expired, other companies want to use the lock, but don't want to get legally pursued by Benchmade.
Definitely the way this should have been done the first time. The only reason I haven't got one is I'm waiting for a more premium version, which would make it truly perfect for me
I bought one CJRB knife with "carbon fiber" and unless they improve the quality of it I won't buy another. I want this knife though. I have ten CJRB's and I am a fan.
I like it. I like it A LOT. Dumb and dumber reference, sorry. But i do like it and agree with mc's criticisms on the laminate cf. Love my pyrite and pyrite light.
I like it mostly. Tired of carbon fiber and even more so laminate carbon fiber. Give me less expensive scales. Anything but FRN will do for me. Or better yet release .stl files so I can 3D print my own.
they did not adjust the barlock for the new blade shape, hilarious. They simply changed the blade style and used the same interface. CJRB will fix it, but that is funny.
They didn't fix it. They should have made it easier to access the blade hole and kept the same blade shape. Would have been much better than the thumb stud.
Too many knives, coming out too fast. They( Higher ups at CJRB/ AC, and many other companies) could have taken the time to assess the thumb stud vs. hole opener. Anyone could tell you that the hole was barely functional. I spoke with an unnamed rep. about this at Blade Show West and I felt like they agreed. Peace.

Hope companies stop with that peel ply g10 carbon fiber
It's embarrassingly cheap looking.
It's a definite deal breaker for me!
@@sethprice241 and cheap feeling in the hand.they need to stop with this.
@@michaelinsc9724 same here.
Yea it looks so cheappppp

Love my bel air. Wish they would do a cf version and nest the liners.
they should have fixed opening hole access vs adding thumbstuds

Patent or trademark infringement concerns? To distance themselves from the originators of the crossbar?

My production version does not have any play. Also swapped on the highlighter green scales from the OG run. Looks great green on black.
Good to hear
I wanted, but my local knife store, GPK, just the Civivi Yonder, so I’ve already scratched my budget bar lock itch.
Gives me Kershaw vibes. Bel air model.

Is this just not a Pyrite Alt in Crossbar lock? Why is it named that way?
If they put the pyrite light blade on there…..yes
Why doesn't the Cjrb Ekko get more attention? It's Fantastic in hand, and my favorite Cjrb! XL Ekko With front and back flipper Please!
A belt satin finish with some contoured peel ply g10 would be so nice for this knife. One can only hope 😊
Looks much the same as the Bel Air from Kai. Nicely done.
Nice mouth breather ending. 😂
Like the blade shape, would be better if cjrb drop the arrpm9 it's not good
Mind blowing.
I’d rather have the Kershaw iridium. They’ll, at least, give you flush mount pocket clip.
Thanks

That Patrick Warburton outro
So close to a kershaw bel air.

YES YES YES
The carbon fiber laminate is my least favorite
How come?
Carbon fiber overall. Looks like old cars with that CF wrap. Or cheap styling products for cars.😅
@@rj_ofb Weaved carbon fiber is so overdone on just everything. Crushed carbon fiber is kinda cool/can be cool on the right thing.
@rj_ofb hm. I see. I don't let knock offs affect my view of the real deal. Like cheap knock off Rolex doesn't make a real Rolex shit all the sudden
@@lfish21. Yeah I feel the same. I switched my 940-1 with CF to full Titanium instead and polished it up.
