Thanks for the master class! I feel fulfilled at 51 years old learning to play all the songs that were part of my life and thanks to your help, dear friends! Thanks
Good stuff. I liked how you repeated every section of the song and broke it down into little bits. Other than that the only request I would make is that you play the song from beginning to end once the overall lesson is complete. As this will show what the entire song should look like. Other than that, looks really good! Thanks for posting this!
Brendan Brown I have another channel, where I post covers/play throughs of most of the songs I teach. You can check it out here - th-cam.com/users/sandobg
This is the FIRST song I tried to play when I picked up my 1st guitar 2 years ago! Now I have six and I still suck, but I try. I work 3 shifts and no time for lessons. Great video, lots of little things I missed reading the tabs before u put this lesson up. Thank you Alex \m/
just learned the whole song in a bout an hour an a half finally have a use for my 2 yr old brand new vox wah lol! great lesson I feel very confident in playing this at tempo and clean . your lesson rocked!! thank you sir!
Really well done. Although I'm first and always a bassist I love learning melodic leads to help me come up with new ideas - and I've always loved this solo. Nice clean and expressive style, too. Thanks!
To anyone who gets frustrated because of not getting the exact tone and sound that jerry has in the track, jerry uses wah and talkbox in the recording. So without them you really can't get the exact tone and sound.Still really fun to play.
great job. we dont down tune only because of the singer. and my less experience and few guitars. we only do a few songs i need tor eally down tune to eb. Some people recommend always playing in eb. or doing songs downtuned all in a row so a guitar is set up for that. but i love my sound on a 7 string in several songs!! suck choices i gotta make !
+Lucas Vandekerkhove He said it towards the end I think. Dunlop MXR M104 distortion Rocktron talkbox Electro-Harmonix Freeze an Ampeg Scrambler a Roland Funny Cat pedal, one Boss Octaver Pedal (Must own in order to play song) and Boss PH-3 Phaser pedal
+Lucas Vandekerkhove Yeah sure thing, I also recommend, Tremolo controller, EMS Synthi Hi-Fli pedal, ada flanger, and also just buy a new Les Paul altogether as well
9:32 i hope someone's here, anyways what's that called? a lick or like i cannot do it so i need to watch practice videos (just really fast repeating melody for short time)
+Bwowo 44 You have to buy a wah amp online as they don't make them anymore. Wah amps usually run you about $3000-4000 + tax. You need to have a Les Paul or Stratocaster, because they have the Crybaby motherboard built into them. Alternatively, you can purchase a guitar without one built in and install it yourself, which should run you about a mere $10000. Also you have to be white to use one. Jimi was recognized as one of the best guitarist of all time because he was the only black man capable of using one.
Did no one realize before that he plays the song slightly different than what the tab shows? Minor details but to some it matters. Great lesson nevertheless!

Excellent lesson. You hit all the little things. I thought I knew the song, but learned a few things new. Thank you.
Those pinch harmonics in there make it sound better. I never thought about even adding them. Thanks for the help!
Great tutorial, I watched a few others before this one. I think yours is the most accurate one and nicely explained as well. Thanks man keep it up

your tone is spot on! what amp are you using? what are your settings?
To anyone who gets frustrated because of not getting the exact tone and sound that jerry has in the track, jerry uses wah and talkbox in the recording. So without them you really can't get the exact tone and sound.Still really fun to play.

Alex do you have any tips on how to do vibrato on bends? I can bend accurately and vibrato with good technique but can’t seem to put the two together.

Excellent lesson!
Great lesson for an amazing song!
Very instructive lesson! Do Sunshine, please)
It is drop D? because my guitar does not sound the same?
It's not drop D. It's a half step down on all the strings (E flat standard)
you need a WAH pedal to get that sound
and distortion... lots of beautifull distortion
When you say you're going back to a certain fret it helps to mention which string you're going back to...
Loving your alice stuff! Thanks!
Excellent lesson. I just subscribed
What was your amp settings at?
Great lesson! Thanks alot. Subscribed ;)
Thanks a lot! Appreciated!
Excellent!

Fuck man. I enjoyed this video. Nice job.
I kind of wish you'd included the talkbox parts.
How do you get that wah effect?
Bwowo 44 Umm, by using the Wah pedal.
