Straight advice.... Install the SDD and reinstall the windows again. Before installing windows go to BIOS and set the SATA configuration to AHCI first or keep it RAID is your choice. I prefer AHCI.

I also upgraded 16 GB RAM & 1 TB SSD in place of HDD , the caddy was not detecting in my laptop and I did the cloning with an cable to SSD from laptop using an expernal sata cable then changed sSD at place of HDD . in my lenovo laptop
It's up to you. you can keep it or delete it. if you need no utilize or keep new files on the hdd drive you can simply delete and move ahead, but you can also keep it up as a backup incase the SSD gets corrupt or crash later for whatever reason.

Replace HDD with SSD not with the DVD slot ( DVD slot transfer rate is even slower than HDD). And I recommend clean windows instal ( if you have registered your windows with an email ID, it will resister your new windows the only hustle will be driver updates or do clowning of your windows)
Also I had a doubt. Since there are many issues with my windows for eg WiFi disappears, windows update has some issues. Can I install a fresh Windows in my New SSD and then change its boot priority like you mentioned? Can you do a video on that? I would really appreciate it! Thank you!
