      Hello sir, However I understand all the supports, But on which basis Structural Engineer can assign particular support. When to assign fixed, pinned,fixed but or any other support.For all concrete structure I assigned fixed support.But there is confusion for steel structure whether to use fixed,pinned or fixed but support.
      Is there is any concept for support of steel structure resting on ground & resting on equipment

    How do you determine which support to be used, is it dependent on the type of structure or it is determined by the soil condition. For example if you are design a shelter, do you use fixed or pinned support?

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It usually depends on the type of structure and specific support parameters as per your project.

    Sir in case of Steel design if we take Check Code and Select Comman during design then after analysis if our section is not appropriate then Staad pro will be taking the proper one by itself... So in case of Concrete design can we make it happen ? like if our concrete member is not appropriate then how can we tell staad pro to design the proper one for us?

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. That only works with Steel Design. You will have to alter the dimensions etc. for RCC members yourself.
