GH; if I was to really cross shop the two it would be to compare the 7 seat 350 TX w 7 seat plat hyb max GH. But really for a family hauler; can’t justify 10-20k price difference for almost the same vehicle- and then also require 91 octane. If the goal is reliability and lower running costs; Toyota wins over Lexus.
Thank you guys for that comparison! Having both Toyota's and Lexus in the family we really needed this comparison. Toyota wins the front grill for me for sure!
You didn't touch on braking distance... There's a material difference between the two...GH is about 10% longer from 70 mph to 0 mph... TX has larger front brakes
I hate that the 7-seater TX is only available in the all-gas model! I need 7-seats to qualify for Uber and Lyft's XL platform but I need that hybrid version to save gas! :(
I purchased a base TX 350 because, for my preferences, it made zero sense to get a top trim Grand Highlander or Telluride in the mid-50s when I could get a Lexus for virtually the same price. On the flip side, I’d never consider a 500h because it’s way too expensive for what you get, especially when the GH exists.
I was looking at them both and felt that the Pilot was better for the price. Toyota in my area were being pricks and wanted $4k in markups and wouldn't budge.
@@be4unvme I was able to get my TX at MSRP, and I agree, I would’ve refused to pay a markup, especially since they still make good profit at MSRP (and even below MSRP they make money)
Same here.... I got close to 10% off MSRP on a tx350 premium and the discount brought the purchase price to about 5k over a similarly equipped GH (which was selling at sticker). It was a no brainer to go with the Lexus.
In Canada, their roads are paved with gold... so road noise doesn't exist...lol...lol...lol...😅😅😅 Canada has no air, so wind noise is not a problem..... hahaha...😅😅😅😅😅
I would go with the Grand Highlander, but two factors that give me pause are A) Toyota Highlanders are being stolen at an alarming rate and B) the wait time to get this model and trim are unacceptable in Ontario.
The BADGE....is why people are paying $20,000 extra for the Lexus... To us peasants, the badge doesn't matter....but to the elite class, the badge is what separates them from us peasants.... it's all about class and status....
Which of these two all-new hybrid three-row SUV's would you take?

@@Modern.Motoring non because there to big.
The front of the TX looks weird.

Thank you for watching and commenting :)
Sure, the Toyota win the front grill contest but the Lexus wins the badge battle... people buy the Lexus for the badge...
Biggest factor rn is you can’t find a GH Hybrid Max to save your life, especially pre-owned.

Good honest review!
Thank you!!
I am thinking of buying a Grand Highlander in 4-5 months. In that hybrid max platinum version. We'll see.
Let us know if you do.
What color option are we seeing in the GH you are driving?
another great video … thanks for posting it :-)
Thanks, Sean!
Is this Toyota as quiet and smooth as the TX? Thanks.
@@vtphan2012 no.
@@Modern.Motoring thanks.

Ur paying for longevity...so when u buy a toyota or Lexus product... u know it will last atleast 2 generations.. thts why u pay the price u do
@@dcon8602 yep, and I like to keep my cars 10+ years, which is why I stick with Toyota/Lexus.

I really like your video. I agree the Grand Highlander does drive very smooth and it is such a nice car.
No comment on cabin noise or the audio system on Lexus?

We decided on the Lexus because of the quiet ride. We have family that need hearing assistance and the Toyota is just to loud to be able to converse.

Lexus theft rates are also not any better; if anything the worst in luxury category even compare to Toyotas.
Are these thefts in 🇨🇦? Haven’t heard of that trend in the US

We need a 2 rox Lexus TX and a 2 row toyota highlander 😢😮
@@arni7810 RX and Venza?
@@Modern.Motoring no. The lexus TX like that one in a 2 row, and the toyota highlander in a 2 row. Alot of us don't need a 3 row suv.
Grand highland wins
Yeah it's nice but I think the toyota and especially the Lexus THEY ARE OVER PRICING!!!💰🤦♂️
