I started out watching this video thinking, okay, what can these two young'uns share that I don't already know especially about marriage. Then, I heard you two teach me about forgiveness. Forgiving yourself & others. You see, in my marriage, I've always kept a running list. Reminding & remembering every bad thing that I had done or that had been done to me. Then I heard Shane say that when you take your wedding vows, you take the better & even the VERY worst. I stopped making my lists as of this last Friday when I watched this video. Thank you young'uns! Thank you for allowing yourselves to be so open & vulnerable. You may never know who you'll be reaching.
That whole testimony by Shane got to me; my husband and I went through a similar issue at almost our 7yr mark. Things were rough but we refused to give up so easily as neither of us believe in walking away from a marriage without both giving their all to it. We just hit 23 yrs recently and Shane expressed his views on the situation with words that made me realize that no matter how horrible it was going through it (from my husband and I) it was almost as though we needed to hit such a rough spot to remember that our marriage was worth putting effort into it as we had BOTH been neglecting each other in numerous ways before even infidelity came into play.

I've done things that I don't know if I can ever forgive myself for. Some days, if I let it, the guilt eats me alive. My only saving grace is knowing the God has forgiven me and that one day maybe I will too. I see my guilt as punishment. It's so much easier forgiving others, I think. That's my tangent. I love how open and honest you are with us. Nobody's perfect, we all make mistakes and we all have things we don't like or feel guilty about that we gotta carry with us. They are there to remind us but not to hinder. I too did a complete 180 in personality too and I say people CAN change you just have to be open to receiving God's help, it may not be how we expect either and it definitely takes time. First off, I’m not a huggy person but I wanted to hug Merina so bad. I can tell it still hurts to talk about your past, but you don’t live there anymore. That person is gone. I am amazed by Shane. I went through a similar situation (I was in Shane’s place), but I didn’t handle it quite as well. I stayed with my husband but left the Pentecostal church, question, doubt, and am angry. It’s a long story. I honestly started watching for cleaning motivation to help me tackle my home through depression and anxiety. I can honestly say you are the only person that talks about Jesus where I am not instantly annoyed. I’m not sure why that is but I figure it must be a God thing.

It's nice to see a couple that is committed to their vows. Life is touch and it's easy to just throw in the towel and say I'm done. It's refreshing to see a couple that works things out. I think divorce is the easier option that a lot of couples choose instead of staying in it for the long haul. You are blessed to have each other.

I completely relate to Shane and agree when he was talking about vows and sticking the situation out. I went through tough times with my husband and am just now seeing the changes and Gods work in him (we have been married for 12 years but together for 15). Marriage is not only happy, sunshine and daisies but it’s hard , hard work , hard times as well. If you think about marriage in a sense is what God goes through with us, we are rebellious, sinners, selfish etc and God has stuck with us until we realize we need Him. Marriage is similar in my opinion. I hope that made sense.

First off, I’m not a huggy person but I wanted to hug Merina so bad. I can tell it still hurts to talk about your past, but you don’t live there anymore. That person is gone.
I am amazed by Shane. I went through a similar situation (I was in Shane’s place), but I didn’t handle it quite as well. I stayed with my husband but left the Pentecostal church, question, doubt, and am angry. It’s a long story. I honestly started watching for cleaning motivation to help me tackle my home through depression and anxiety. I can honestly say you are the only person that talks about Jesus where I am not instantly annoyed. I’m not sure why that is but I figure it must be a God thing.
I am new to your channel. I just wanted to say I love the raw honesty you two share and the love. Most channels are not this real and I really respect that.
