Are these full docs basically just all the episodes put together? Or is there footage not seen in the episode version? Sorry, I'm too busy watching this to confirm for myself, and I'm assuming you've already finished
Wow, this was such an amazing odyssey to watch. It was very sad at the end seeing that Buck had past away and I had to choke back some tears. He was an amazing dog and a true companion.
I am from Taiwan, English is not my main language, and I watched the film without subtitle from the beginning to the end. I tried to imagine how extreme the weather condition it was. Obviously the freezer I have at home is still not chilly enough. Jim, you and buck are really awesome!!!
sorry to hear that buck passed.seemed like such a good soul. He was lucky he had a good mate like yourself to take him on such a adventure through life
Ive been locked to home and sepperated from my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks due to the virus. Watching a bit of this 6 hour trip each night before going to bed has calmed my anxiety quite a bit and made me sleep more at ease. Thanks for the awesome trip Jim! Hope you're doing well
Jim, you're the whole package. Star (along with Buck), producer, director, writer, cameraman and everything else. In some of the most beautiful parts of earth. Well done! Thank you for doing what you do. And so sad to hear of Buck's passing. He was such a trooper.
Well, I found the article on Buck. You know it was obvious you & Buck Loved each other Very much but to know he must of had none cancer while on that trip says even more of his dedication to you Jim! He really pushed his self for your sake Because he loved you so much!!! I had a Big horse who did the same!!! I will Never forget Him either! It is so fitting that this documentary is presented in memory of Buck. I’m sure he has endeared himself to everyone who has viewed this presentation. What a wonderful opportunity Jim that you have given your viewers to see the north through this presentation. Thank you!
Just finished watching this after about 1 week of binge watching. WOW! What a triumph. I'm not to sentimental, but definitely shed a tear at the end with the memorial to Buck (aka: The greatest companion ever). You inspire all of us to get out there and do it! Thank you!!!!
Epic movie! Just saw it. What tough terrain and weather! The dedication to Buck at the end was gut wrenching for me; brought tears to my eyes. What a great companion!
Thank you very much. I miss him a lot. What a great companion and kind hearted dog yet protective when he needed to be like when he chased off the bear.
Oh my goodness. What an adventure! I seriously laughed at times. Then I stressed. Then I cheered and then I worried. And then I was exhilarated by your success! Then I could hardly take it Buck wasn't here anymore. My heart literally just about broke. The best documentary I have seen in just about forever.
Wow! You must have tons of free time! Hahahaha! Just finished watching this cool video but fast forwarding here and there as this video is nearly 6 hours!
Super! I loved how Buck skirted the ice on ribbons of snow. What a trooper Buck was! And probably a better companion than many humans would be. RIP Buck, you lived an awesome life.
Just wow. What an inspiring piece of content. You don’t need me to tell you this, but sir , you are absolutely incredible. Also, what a beautiful companion buck is. So sad to hear about his passing.
Its honestly amazing watching this and thinking about just the time it takes to set up cameras and film the lead in and lead out just from the camp. Buck is everything that a companion needs to be with a massive amount of heart and no doubt whatso ever that he would be there for any emergency. Having never seen snow or walked in it, its beautiful beyond. Thanks you Jim.
Buck! What a companion. You are lucky to have had him in your life. I kept skipping forward the entire time to watch Buck. Highly intelligent dog. Him peeing on the Arctic Circle marker just about sums up what he thought about that! HaHa! Didn't see him complain even once. He was there for you and that's the divinity of the bond. So sad and feel very sorry for your loss.
Awesomely beautiful country in Canada .thank you for taking us on the journey .Buck is a beautiful dog .and I see by the comments he passed so sorry you lost your friend and travel companion. God Bless and stay safe
Impossible route JIM , All the best and respect, many people would die halfway, you are the very huge symbol of a REAL Canadian adventure man. Omg.. ! Buck was very good dog and a true companion. 🐕💕 We love you and I was really worried, like never before during your adventures. Wow. CONGRATS..I asked my followers on my channel how much money should be paid for something like this. Omg..! Greetings from Alberta .🤙🙋♂🍷🤔😮
Mr. Baird, you're the real deal. Watching you "suffer" through cold, wet, bugs and the elements gives us a window into the voyageurs who explored our beautiful lands. This footage of our country is an amazing piece of work. I'll watch all you produce as its always an incredible experience. Thank You. Sad Buck has passed - he was a joy to see. Be blessed, always.
I'm only 30 mins in and I can already appreciate how much work this is. What an amazing adventure with Buck. What a dog! Looking forward to watching the rest.
As I heal some broken ribs, I’ve watched several of your lengthy shows including this Arctic Solo with Buck. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of each show. Also watched the 8 hour Arctic Watershed trip along with family and solo canoe trips. At 63 you make me envious and wish I was 40 again and on these adventures. Keep up the good works.
Did I mention this is my favorite series?? So much adventure and beautiful scenery. Then there is Buck❤️. Such a loyal friend to you Jim. Hats off to both of you, what an accomplishment
It seems like long time ago as I started to watch this documentary, partially through then I watch one to learned that Buck went to the other side of the rainbows. I couldn't continue to watch because it saddened me. Yesterday 11/13/21 I learned that you and your wife have a new puppy, a second child. Congratulations. I re-watch the vid on Buck passing. I will comeback to watch this one soon. Rest In Peace Buck.. you're one special Buck.
Thanks very much and it is truly sad. The dog always dies at the end in movies and in real life. It’s tragic but bitter sweet too. They are so noble, loyal and brave. They would die for us.
Hello dear Jim , WHAT an epic video you did make, I got close to you and Buck, so intimate it did surprise me, It take me a while to realize how many back and forth you did picking up the camera you walk more than your dog!!!! I watch the all film over 48h and it was like reading a book I coulnt stop. I think the fact you where on a river (2 rivers) and sea water.. all THAT water (ice water) invisible IS VERY INSPIRING. And from my confortable wine store in Vendée France I felt the cold, the wind and both your courage . In my life I travel backpack with a dog and a horse and I love the connection specialy when it's difficult, they are the best THANK YOU and a big hugh to Buck in paradise doggies Ariane
What an awesome experience and adventure! Thanks for taking us on the trip! Buck is surely resting in peace having had such love and trust in his life.
By far my most favorite of all your adventures! Thanks for taking us along on this epic journey. My heart breaks that you lost Buck. What a truly amazing and best ever dog!
I just finished your Yukon marathon River of rapids solo episode. I started at 1:00 am and could not stop watching until it concluded. Dragging butt next day. Now this ! Always loved stories of polar explorers from the age of explorers. Thanks ! BTW, you‘re crazy, in a good way ;)
Just found your channel over the weekend. Watched the entire video. What a trip, just stunning. I'm a dog lover, so love that Buck. What a trooper! You know there were times he really didn't want to pull that sled, but he did. Thanks for creating this. Sorry to hear about Buck, but he lived a great life with you. He is one beatiful dog!
Could have bought a book....Buck! Come here boy. Epic journey, RIP Buck. Brilliant videos though Buck was an absolute soldier and made this special, thank u for showing us his courage, strength and resilience.
My brother showed me you channel and I absolutely love it!!!!!!!! What an amazing adventures you had my heart beating fast in parts of this video and also made me cry when you made it. When you showed buck at the end with is birth and death year I balled even more. Buck was/ is an amazing and what an exciting life he had lived I mean how many dogs have been able to hike the arctic crazy. Best of luck in your new adventures.
Buck really was a trooper. Just near the end of this video now, a really epic adventure documentary that I'll need to watch several times to take everything in. ❤👍🇨🇦
Wow! What a stunningly beautiful trip! I watched it all, over the past 5 nights, completely in awe of this wonderful world which the Lord has created! Thanks for the time that you took to plan, execute, and film this wonderful adventure! Buck was also amazing!
Indeed, just spectacular! My footage doesn’t even do it justice. The cliff on Mount Thor is a sheer 4,101 feet, the largest sheer vertical drop in the world! It’s crazy looking up at it. Surreal. That’s 3.3 times the height of the Empire State Building.
BZ Jim! That is quite an accomplishment for you and Buck. The memories of that landscape will follow you the rest of your life. I know, I spent a "night' on Ellesmere Is 30 yrs ago. Of course, a night is 180 days up there. Epic is the right word. Cheers!
I throughly enjoyed the trip, buck wasn't a dog, he was a human with 4 legs but with exemplary tracts, I know this as watching was like watching my best friend who was my heart and soul, she too was a Alaskan malamute, her name was " nishka" she died July 15, 2021 at 13. Again watching buck was like watching nishka take the trip with Jim. Thank- you jim from all my heart. By the way, my faith in god tells me that nishka and buck are in heaven at the " rainbow bridge" playing and waiting for us to take our place once again with our best friends someday. God- bless you, be save!! M.p. jones
Oh my stars ✨ in heaven that was epic! The most beautiful scenery! You and Bucks brute strength to make this documentary for us to see is warming to the heart! The majesty of our planet is unbelievable! Thank you!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ RIP Buck! PS....I was cold watching it!!!! Haaa!
For those of us who will never get there, to explore the places you have been, (for one reason or another), it is still a wonderful way to share these experiences with us.
I’m shocked that after half an hour I’m still content to have started a 6 hour documentary. 🙂 Buck was a magnificent dog. Looks like a giant Samoyed. Having read your comments, now I know how spectacular a Husky Malamute cross can be. He was so beautiful with a truly noble spirit.
You should have called your dog Peace.. He was so awesome in the Arctic and looked like he was at home there.. I believe that he is in doggy heaven and Happy there.. God bless you for this amazing video.. We really enjoy your time there, thanks for taking us along with you.. Shalom..
Jim. One word to describe your incredible footage. Epic! It had to been one of the best linked series of episodes into a full documentary from start to end. Hell of a job you did ousting that brutal cold arctic Canadian windy frigid temperature. Buck - the amazing husky🐶- I will miss him. Huskies are my favorite dogs too! I though you presented this footage on a grand scale 6 hrs of clips. - I wished you did lot more of aerial footage on your drone. Awesome job!!!!!
You know I really enjoyed all this footage and scenery.i I love to see you putting up the stove and seeing what your cooking.that double burner stove is what my DAD had when we whent camping and you pumping the gas pump on the burner reminded me of the times we would go camping and cooking on our Coleman gas burner
Goosebumps all over and at the end .. a tear in my eye... - Thanx for letting me be part of this awesome trip. Awesome wilderness, awesome instinct ... and of course the whole trip would have been completely different without that AWESOME companion. shall he rest in peace with thoughts about the best buddy he could ever have. Thank you very much dear Jim :)
This is the second time watching I just love this movie you made and I’m really sorry about buck you look like one hell of a dog love from Traverse City Michigan Jim
You are a crazy guy!! I see by the comments that Buck has passed on. I am so very sorry to learn this. He was such a tough. loving dog. RIP Buck. You had a heart as big as the Mountains that surrounded you on this adventure.
Thanks very much, ya he passed away about a year and a half after we did this trek. Here’s a vid I put together with a little about his amazing life and origins as an “Indian” sled dog from northern Ontario th-cam.com/video/BHt7bKyZjZ4/w-d-xo.html
You know, I just thought. Even in most of the Hollywood dog movies the dog dies at the end. I guess that’s just how it is in human life when you have dogs.
"inspire them to get up and clean up the garage at least!" Oh Great Adventurer Jim, you've inspired my partner to do so much more in order to do what you truly inspired us to do and that is become adventurers! First thing on the list was to stop frivolous spending so we can save up for gear!!! No more daily timmies haha, but we want to see ourselves banging out fishing trips and canoe trips and just get out there, so for that i am eternally grateful! First trip is a 2 night 3 day lake hop in Algonquin before the snow hits!!!
My 5 year old son and i enjoy all your journeys, and look forward to your next adventures, he has an explorers soul like his dad and glad to be able to follow a follow such an experienced Canadian Adventurer in you and your best friend Buck. I haven't told him about Buck yet as i just found out myself, what an amazing Dog. thanks for the stories
Thanks a lot and you’re very welcome. Ya, it’s sad but it seems to be the case, the dog dying at the end, in real life and in fiction too. Really glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos.
What an awesome film! Cheers for Buck! May he Rest In Peace. As I commented on his remembrance post, he definitely is the highly regarded co star on this adventure. Kinda like Tim Conway on the Carol Burnett show. I know Buck would’ve done a great job on your Baffin Island trip. ❤️
Between this and your full Yukon video I just spent 10.5 hrs straight watching. You have such a great, positive attitude and your adventures are breathtaking. My wife is pissed at me by the way.😂
Your video was so real. Thank you for sharing you incredible journey through the extreme elements. You are amazing. Sure beats watching cable TV. We fell in love with Buck. He has a fan club out here in California. So sad he left this earth so young.
Fantastic trip, what conditions at times. I was shivering with those freezing winds. Awesome, thank goodness Buck was there to keep you company and safe. RIP Buck you have plenty of happy dog stories to share. 🏴👍
Thanks a lot for watching! Please like this video and subscribe to my channel for more. I have a lot of exciting stuff to upload. Get caught up on some of my past videos through my playlists. Thanks again for all your support.

I think losing your dog is almost worse than losing people sometimes...they just connect with you on a different level....
Oh man, I just finished watching and saw that Buck passed last year. What an amazing buddy he was too you. I'm sad that he is gone.
Indeed he was. Ya, the good die young I guess but at least I got to have some awesome experiences with him.

Wow, this was such an amazing odyssey to watch. It was very sad at the end seeing that Buck had past away and I had to choke back some tears. He was an amazing dog and a true companion.
This is very true. I’m glad we got to do this trip together which we did a couple years before he died.
I am from Taiwan, English is not my main language, and I watched the film without subtitle from the beginning to the end. I tried to imagine how extreme the weather condition it was. Obviously the freezer I have at home is still not chilly enough. Jim, you and buck are really awesome!!!

Buck is everything that a companion needs to be with a massive amount of heart and no doubt whatso ever that he would be there for any emergency. So proud of Buck conquering his fear of the ice crossing that lake. Truly heartwarming.

Don't get me wrong. God has plenty of patents but for this video, I'm blessing Canon and TH-cam :)
Farewell Buck, you are missed, :(
Goosebumps all over and at the end .. a tear in my eye...
RIP sweet Buck, a great dog, the best companion and excellent explorer....
i sat here watched the whole thing ,absolutely loved this adventure ,thank you Jim and buck ....
Awesome to hear and you’re very welcome!
Jim you are a legend! that trip takes some courage! I love learning from your vids thank you
You’re very welcome. Thanks a lot for watching.
What a awesome trip ..thank you very much for taking me along I will never forget it
Absolutely love these epic videos. I watch a little every night. Thx for putting this together and stay safe on your current travels.
Wow! What a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing. That takes guts! Bravo! RIP. Buck! ❤️
Awesome!! Enjoy, you’re going to love it for sure.
So sorry for your loss. Buck was amazing
Almost 6 hours of Buck 😍😭 What a legend
Epic trip, Jim. Awesome! I have the wilderness bug as well.
Super extraordinaire 🌈🤙🤗👍🐕
My 5 year old son and i enjoy all your journeys, and look forward to your next adventures, he has an explorers soul like his dad and glad to be able to follow a follow such an experienced Canadian Adventurer in you and your best friend Buck. I haven't told him about Buck yet as i just found out myself, what an amazing Dog. thanks for the stories
Thanks a lot and you’re very welcome. Ya, it’s sad but it seems to be the case, the dog dying at the end, in real life and in fiction too. Really glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos.
I loved watching this when it came out. I’m super excited for your Arctic watershed excursion Jim!
Nice, thanks, working on it right now
You are one of the only true adventurers on social media...wow..epic trip! And Buck was the best of the best
Buck was just the bestest doggo anybody could ever be fortunate enough to have in their life.
Between this and your full Yukon video I just spent 10.5 hrs straight watching. You have such a great, positive attitude and your adventures are breathtaking. My wife is pissed at me by the way.😂
Watching him going i thought his bag is going to tip cause the bag was lopsided...than there it goes...Buck is Sooo AMAZING...🐕
What a companion to have out there and to help pull his own weight quite literally too. Thanks for watching g
You where the best dog Buck!
Words can not communicate. MY heart floated, wondered, and prayed for your safety and success don't stop until you can't
This video is great! You seem like a really nice person who really enjoys these expeditions. Keep em up!
Your video was so real. Thank you for sharing you incredible journey through the extreme elements. You are amazing. Sure beats watching cable TV. We fell in love with Buck. He has a fan club out here in California. So sad he left this earth so young.
Thanks very much and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It was crushing to loose Buck.
Let's keep rolling with that, not getting eaten.... Epic line. RIP Buckster.
Fantastic trip, what conditions at times. I was shivering with those freezing winds. Awesome, thank goodness Buck was there to keep you company and safe. RIP Buck you have plenty of happy dog stories to share. 🏴👍
Thanks very much for that and glad you liked it. Buck’s spirit lives on in the keewaydin beyond the great height- of-land.
