Cleaning a Vintage Side by Side Shotgun

Edit: I just watched through and I should have said Deeley and Edge style for my forearm release! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Too may thoughts going through my mind. Anson is the push button release on the end of a forearm seen on some American guns like LC Smith.
How I clean my vintage shotguns after hunting or light shooting. Enjoy!
I know there are many ways to skin a squirrel, this is just how I clean my guns. I appreciate any input or others suggestions especially when it comes to oils!

It’s one I am able to shoot pretty well too. I took her out for our dove opener and did okay a few weeks ago

I have a C.G. Bonehill circa 1875 made in Birmingham, England in 10 gauge. The shotgun will fire smokeless loads up to 10,000 psi safely. I use it waterfowl and upland hunting. Thing is I wish they made paper 2 7/8 inch 10 gauge hulls, brass hulls at $13.00 a piece is not economical.

I agree! I only have a few brass 10 gauge hulls. I buy Cheddite and Remington 3.5 inch 10 gauge hulls and trim them down to 2 7/8 inches. I’m on my 6th and 7th reloads in some of them. I have a few Federals too.
Salt Creek Custom Ammo also makes 2 7/8 inch 10 gauge smokeless waterfowl loads that are tested under 7k psi. I’ve used them on ducks and geese already this year. They work well

@@twiststeelandsmoke How many reloads can you get using 1F or 2F with Cheddite or Remington hulls?

@@montanamountainmen6104 I can usually get 3-4 before I start getting pin holes in the hulls and have to toss them.
I’m getting a lot more with smokeless
