I just started watching the show and I just thought it was a character that was yet to be introduced
Nah. It stood out a bunch cause of hair color.
I still think Kuwabara's the best. He was a normal human who could go toe to toe with demons. He was tough, but also provided the bulk of comedic relief and towards the end he showed how smart he could actually be.
ThePhenomenalEX kuwabara is great, but Hiei, Kurama, and Yusuke always stay leagues ahead of him (power wise) (near the end of the show he was only about B class power, whereas the rest were all S+ class.) But honestly kuwabara is great, and I've seen so many shows anime or not that have modelled characters and made references to kuwabara. 10/10 character imo
Yeah, no way he could go head on against the other three towards the end, but he still managed to become the strongest pure human by the end of the series. And he was ok with that. He knew his limit. Which is just another reason he's my favorite character.
Cyrus James no he wasn't kuwabara was an easy A class and the same strength as hiei and kurama they were all A class only yuske and the 3 kings were S class in the last arc

Kurama is my favorite. His polite smile hid a truly vicious fighter. Plus him being the "straight man" in the comedic lunacy of his friends is just as funny.
Especially since he always keeps his shirt on. Call me crazy but I think this small detail goes into showing how he hides all his strength. Compared to the other three who normally start in top form baring all their strengths out at once like constantly revealing their muscles Kurama hides his power under his soft and gentle appearance.

I wish I grew up with Hakusho, I watched the Japanese version. Spirit gun sounds way better than "Rei-Gun" still enjoyed it though.

And wow the art, it was amazing! not only was beautifully drawn and animated, I loved how the characters' expressions fit them, I was very moved. That one having AmaLee's character forcing Hiei to smile is so funny.

Reborn X Master I don't. They should leave exactly how it is. It's finished. A continuation okay, but a remake after it's all said and done, no. I think that only worked for hunter x hunter because the story is far from over.
Yu Yu Hakusho will always have a special place in my heart. Its the first anime my dad actually watched AND recommended to us. Aside from that, Urameshi is one of my favourite Mcs. I love this character development.

Damn I kinda wish that girl was an actual character now. She adds that "woman's touch" the guys really needed. I love Keiko and other girls but they're not a high level fighters this made girl seems to be so it just works some how and fits with both groups. I can't explain it.
What Genkai is not enough for you? Grandma definitely kicked some serious butt in the tournament and definitely provided some cool chick factor. Plus, Demon World Queen Mukuro was definitely an impressive female fighter whose skill was left unseen due to the last arc being rushed. Also, I think if Botan was emphasized more in series as capable member of team Urameshi then the problem would have been resolved even more so.
@@cowabungadoug Genkai is awesome but she's the mentor. It's like if Tsunade had a more active role with Naruto and Sakura. It'd be awesome but since she's the teacher there isn't many moments that they could share that's outside the the older role model setting the example and being a second parent or guardian. I definitely agree with Botan should've been utilized more and at the same time disagree. She just doesn't strike me as a person who's interested in gaining more power or going through the routines of daily maintenance of said strength. As for the Demon Queen... kinda meh. I can't really say she's awesome due to lack of screentime as a character. Powerwise definitely but I don't really see her as a part of Team Urameshi and would only take interest in what benefits her and maybe Hiei. Can't really tell since she got no character development past Hiei breaking her shackles and hanging out with him afterwards.
Plus this girl just seems to have the kinda of personality that meshes well with all the guy's. Strong willed, caring, stubborn, kind, and determined yet shy, awkward, occasional joker, ect. She seems to fit with the guy's in this video because with the glimpses we see she has multiple layers especially with the song matching with her actions most of the time. None of the other girl's had the kind of potential chemistry that fits with each guy. Botan is terrified of Hiei and finds it a bit difficult to hold a conversation with Kuwabara but does okay with Yusuke since they're partners and Kurama since he's the most agreeable of the group. The other girls are either non fighters or don't have an interest in knowing the other guys or even integrating into their inner circle.
Nah man the fact that it's an all male quatuor is part of what made this show so cool, they really had the dynamics of a bunch of bros, a girl thrown in there would just be a weird addition

I do. I don't have ads because I have a subscription and can watch the full library. But for a keepsake I also buy the dvds in Blu-ray. This isn't an op-ed on you but If I want to get more anime dubbed like Yu Yu Hakusho then it benefits me to support the industry. To each their own. Note: If I'd seen the comment from Solero then I would have just thumbed it up.

The Dark Tournament only had a few good moments, way too long, with fights no one really cared about. A 40 EPISODE TOURNAMENT ARC. You could skip a few full episodes and still get the same, even a better experience.
@@tejirie.9861 @Tejiri E. Yeah this was when a fighting anime could be about fighting. Also skipping any round of the tournament and you'll miss a lot of character building. The first round is used to show Kuwabara's growth, Kurama's vulnerability and savagery, Hiei's new power, and Keiko understanding a side of Yusuke she's never knew despite being by his side for his whole life. Round 2 demonstrates Kuwabara's sense of honor and sensitivity and introduce the Spirit Wave to Yusuke. Round 3 pushes their backs to the wall and allows Kurama to really shine as he struggles against three opponents one after the other for the sake of his team and this is best part of this round is when he's on the brink of death Yusuke is willing to break the rules to save him. This gesture really demonstrates how Yusuke throws all sense of honor, pride, even fairness out the window because he values his friends more. I love this moment and really shows you what kinds person he and builds up on what we already knew about him. Then we get the fight against Jin which is just a good fight and we get to see just how durable Kuwabara is despite having a broken body. Round 4 updated us on Hiei's development and showcases he's got more in his arsenal than we originally thought. Yoko Kurama is also introduced and we finally see just how brutal he really is and yet how beautifully he carries himself. Genkai shows just how powerful she still is despite just giving Yusuke her power which helps show the new potential he's going to unleash in the climax. And the finals are of course the culmination of everything that's been building up.
Missing any of these moments doesn't improve it and besides its a fighting series. Fighting should be the main attraction. Long drawn out battles to showcase their inhuman strength and endurance. I hate how quickly so many battles are ended in anime today. My Hero being a constant source of disappointment. Out of the two seasons I've watched All Might vs Nemu, Deku vs Todoroki, and the Stain battle are the only fights I enjoyed. Out of 32 episodes there are only 3 outstanding fights. And I get it fighting isn't the only attraction to the anime but I'm a fighting nut. I'm here mostly for the battles. Which is why Yu Yu Hakusho is better. Not only it focus primarily on fighting but almost all the character development and growth are in the heat of battle.

chunghoe 7 yeah, for the anniversary, the Japanese studio announced two OVA’s. Then in 2018-2019 it was announced through Funimation those OVA’s would get dubbed. One is about the story of how Hiei met young Kurama and the other involves Yusuke

A Shinigami who uncovered the Spirit World conspiracy before the beginning of the manga but Enma wiped her memory and banished her to the Human World before she had an opportunity to tell anyone. She lives the life of a human with magical powers that aren't fully explained until late in the story when she recovers her memories and helps oust Enma.

If a Yuyu Hakusho reboot ever gets announced I'm gonna break down crying. I can already feel it coming just thinking about it.
Doesn't really need a reboot. It covered most of the manga and even made some improvements to the story pacing. A reboot at best will give you modern animation, and that's not much.
I really want it as well. After how great the Hunter X Hunter reboot was, I really want a YuYu hakusho one!

I would rather honestly be content with a reboot that modernizes the art style, music, and nothing more. The music in YYH was iconic, but a reboot would have to modernize it in some way, such is the way of things.
Watched the video and i wondered what would happened if amalee's character were on the yu yu hakusho universe. I bet that she would be a top noch waifu, i mean the kind girl that is always smiling, adventurous, funny and devoted to the people she loves and cares that i would totally fell for, also the fighting cloths she wears are awesome.
And i can't avoid to love the imagery of this video, is as if amalee is a character of yu yu hakusho and she's interactig with the main characters.

I can't get over how beautiful Amalee's OC in this is. Based on her postures and expressions I want a YYH remake with her included. I've listened to this version over a 100 times. I thought Freckles was my favorite cover but this is #1. I listen to it at least 10 times a day.

Probably one of the most underrated animes in history. Absolutely loved this show. I watched it online (since I didn't grow up in the 90's) and I was hooked. It had such great characters and revealed aspects of humanity, life lessons. You don't see those in animes today (technically it's not their fault, since it's hard to convey a life lesson to today's society) All modern anime is just high school or comedy action. This the greatest anime I have ever seen. It has the right sense of action, drama, jokes, music and love in this. Especially smile bomb is the best song. I was super sad this show ended because it had been a big part of my childhood. Even if a new 2018 version came and a live action movie on the works .I really hope that this can get a reboot.

2 months after discovering this video, I have listened to it pretty much everyday. Yu Yu Hakusho has a very deep and special place in my heart for many years and you nailed it. This song for me is better than the original English opening. Thank you so much. I listen to this to get my mood up whenever I feel down. If Yu Yu ever gets a remake and a new dub, I'll try my best to recommend you for the song covers.
I like that out of everyone Kuwabara actually got a costume change a combination of both his usual school uniform and the coat from the Dark Tournament. I love that he is pure human but he can still kick most demons asses, if the series had him train and fight in the Three Kings saga tournament he would have ranked between High A and Low S by the end of it.

I remember barely catching these shows as a kid on toonami and never getting to watch the series. Now it was on HULU and boy was I excited. The beginning still tears me up when he decided to save his girl while he could lose his body. I don’t care what anyone says no anime has touched every emotion like this one.
