The game was obviously made by fans who knew the series, loved it, and wanted to do better. They really took the classic Heroes, and introduced a lot of new mechanics like flanking, cover, morale effects per destroyed unit stack, etc. which really improved the gameplay without changing it too much. The racial abilities became universally useful, so you can - with a few exceptions - combine any hero with an army from either town, and the effects would work and potentially synergize (in comparison, in V any hero ability only worked with their own population). Even the "Ultimate ability" from V was turned into Grandmaster abilities for every single secondary skill, which added a LOT of variability into play. It seems like they didn't have either enough budget, or supervision, to polish the stuff they implemented into the game, and balance it out. Personally, I think creating an elaborate campaign was completely unnecessary, and could very much be skipped in favor of polishing the common mechanics and random map generator as the main priority. Also, it would be perfect to see Ice Daemons as the final eight town for the second expansion that we never got.
I played their Duel Of Champions. Never been into digital card games before, at least since the ancient Magic The Gathering games. I loved it, amazing artwork loads of content released pretty consistently. Sure it had balance issues, and a huge number of players basically wrecked the online experience playing the same trick decks over and over and over again and simply leaving the game the instant they realized you had their number and knew how to stop their single tactic .... but Ubisoft simply abandoned it. Closed the servers one day. Didn't even give players a chance to play offline or over a network. Regretted giving them close to £100 for card packs etc .... lost ALL my faith in Ubisoft that day, and have pirated every single game from them ever since.
Amen to that. Look at all the forgettable and failed AAAA games they released the last year. Having a feature complete HOMM is merely change in comparison. And there is a market, Songs of Conquest sold between 0.5 and 1M copies thusfar, and that's a new IP by an Indie dev.
@@Dawwwg in addition to that you'd think they'd invest in more games along the lines of dark messiah of might and magic. Or even do an open world game in the same vein. The biggest crime of this game? Booting of Sanctuary. My favorite faction in 5 was Academy, so I was very disapointed when they were not in 6, but I fell in love with the asthetic of sanctuary. Then in7 I got my academy back, only too lose my second favorite faction, replacing dungeon from HOMM 5. Also, why was evrey single good unit from 6 nerved into the ground? Haven lost its glorys, one of my favorite units in that game, the radiant ones were just obsurd also the Sunknights were better and more flavorfull than those lame cavaliers in 7. Necorpolis, Sceletons were downgraded to melee, the spiders were much weaker than the ghouls, the banshees lost the ability to heal, I don't know if the Lamasus were nerfed but Vampires definetly were, losing their out of time ability to gain no flanking, if thats not the defenition of a downgrade I don't know what is, replacing an amazing ability with a useless one and the biggest crime of all, reducing the fatespinner, my favorite Level 7 Creature in 6 to a useless warmachine. The same with bastion, the orks were amazing in 6 with their always climing attack stat, I loved the panterwarriors and dreamwalkers, definetly more than those weird basiliskriders, the behemots were cool, glad to see them back after 4, and kind of replicating the panther warriors with their leap ability, but why did cyclopses lose the ability to always shot? Dungeon on the other hand is a bit more debatable I guess. I preferred the double range line up with the chakram dancers and shadow watchers over the troglodytes and trackers, I definetly preferred the Faceless compared to the Souless, but I like the medusas more than the scorpicors. The units in 7 aren´t Heroes-units anymore. There are many very bad choices of units, who absolutely don´t suit to their factions. Even 6 is more "heroes" than 7 besides the gate-spell and online obligation. Also, the music in 7 is the worst by far. I´m not sure, if Heroes 7 has really been made by classic heroes-players and fans. It seems, that it comes from left side politicans, who wanted to destroy everything, what was conservative and they hated classical affiliations. The game definitely is too woke for my taste.

I started with heroes 3 when I was a kid and spend many many hours... I don't understand why everybody don't like heroes 6... I liked it and I still play it sometimes.
because 6 is very simplified 5 and have questionable plot in some ways
@@brattler8376 In some way simplified but it has many more magic schools and spells, way more unit skills and hero skills than H3 and way more logical ones when you canb make tactics way more usable skills were there and also in H7- Heroes 7.5 is now better on RMG maps, AI, 12 factions!
@@FilmGamerHUN how many is usefull ? heroes 5 spells branch more complicated then whole heroes 6 game
Unpopular opinion but I prefer 2 over 3 and the rest of them.
Because people are bitter cry babies who drown in nostalgia
Bad animations and ridiculously stupid ai.
Lots of not working game mechanics.
I loved heroes 7. The multiplayer game experience was a disaster. It's no surprise comming from Ubisoft, I was really disappointed.
Mikela /)!!
I, for one, am enjoying this game.
Watched s lot of homm videos lately. Spent more than a healthy amount of hours on homm2 3, and 4.
Just wish people would take off their nostalgia glasses and recognise that Homm3 was as much broken as the Ubisoft titles. At least they continued the franchise, unlike ea with their bullfrog acquisition.
so youre saying i shouldnt buy it? lol
Eh, it's on sale in steam now: complete edition w/ HoMM3 HD Bonus for $12.50. Playing it now. Tedious launcher but only ran into one minor graphic glitch and am having fun thus far.
I like the game ,has the same gameplay as the3 and much better grafics .So I don’t get where is the negativity for this game ,if you make a copy of the same game it’s just boring .
i was almost sleeping while watching this video. I am sure you can do better.
The units in 7 aren´t Heroes-units anymore. There are many very bad choices of units,
who absolutely don´t suit to their factions. Even 6 is more "heroes" than 7
besides the gate-spell and online obligation.
Also, the music in 7 is the worst by far. I´m not sure,
if Heroes 7 has really been made by classic heroes-players and fans.
It seems, that it comes from left side politicans, who wanted to destroy everything,
what was conservative and they hated classical affiliations.
The game definitely is too woke for my taste.
