Isn’t wonderful how many passionate people are remanufacturing old rare toys so others can enjoy them. And watching you build it step by step will hopefully give people the confidence to give it a go themselves. It’s an interesting fun toy that would really be cool on shelf. Sorry for the long comment… I am not a MOTU guy but this one is just fun.
One thing you have that most channels don't is that you know your stuff. Specially with MOTU. When you talk on your videos, I listen. I wanna catch everything. The time lapses are fast enough so it doesn't bore the viewer, and you're very smart in repurposing stuff like Lego and plastic sheets.
This seems like a fun way to get this figure. I’d have loved doing something like this as a kid, it would be cool if toy lines actually offered 1-2 figures in this kind of “build your own” format.
Nice purchase on the helping hand set up. I've always wanted to add one to my tools. I've always thought how handy they would be for soldering and model work.
have always thought these have so much detail that 80's toy production put on but just didn't do anything with. You could make these look amazing fairly easily. You also could very easily add the dirty effect to him with a brown/black wash over the metal
Who is up for a part 2? You've seen how to do it the original way, now let's see part 2 ...adding the custom details Mattel didn't have the budget for. Use the classics figure for inspiration, paint all the little wires in, the skull details, the parts that poke into the skin etc. It would make for a great part 2.
always amazing stuff... could you do one where you add your own flavor ...there is a lot of sweet sculpt in the fig that was never painted. And with it being a kit ....go nuts
Another great video, I always enjoy watching these! Will Barbarossa send you a laser light He-man kit to follow up with this?! Great exposure for his work 😃
Have you played around with pin washes at all? If not, may be a thing to look into adding to your bat-belt level toolset for any other similarly creviced restorations down the line.
Perhaps I wasn't looking at the right thing, but last time I checked the Barbarossa page, these Kits were awfully expensive. Anyway, great build. Thanks for the video.
Creating something like this takes time, there are a lot of parts to be cast so I can understand the costs. You may find this article I wrote about my youtube earnings will give you some perspective. www.patreon.com/posts/does-youtube-pay-55918340
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! It was highly enjoyable watching you do the kit from start to finish, and I'd love to see you do a few more kit type videos like this again! I think that the kit is a big improvement on the original figure, and the details on the figure itself seem pretty spot-on as well! Nice work, man!
It’s been a pleasure watching you build this, Dave. You’ve definitely got me interested in giving it a shot myself. I was thinking that the customization possibilities are endless with this project. Having a blank canvas to work with would allow you to paint it however you like. You could get as detailed as you wanted. It would be cool to see how the addition of some different colors to the detailing might change the overall look. I do like the button for the light up feature as well and the quality of the product’s materials seem very good. So glad you had an awesome experience with it. Thank you for another highly enjoyable video.🙏
That's a lot of light bleeding through when it powers on. Would it have helped to paint the inside of the skull and right arm black, or would too much of that have shown through the plastic?
Great job there Dave! Definitely something i'm interested in getting. I haven't put a model kit together for something close to 20 years so should be fun.
Just a tip, without a current limiting resistor between the battery/switch and the leds you run the rik of blowing out those leds, at least it will greatly reduce their life and the batteries will also run down very quickly.
Gosh, kit figures would have been cool... Heck, they ARE cool! I think my favourite bit about this is MOTU figures had a tendancy to have sorta scuffy paint by the time I got them anyway so my poor painting skills can go un-noticed >>
Not like it matters, but sometimes I like to use aluminum foil to reflect light to make it brighter, but seems like the LED is bright enough in his head. (Sometimes white or silver paint)
Hey Dave Great outcome🙂 You will need to have some play time with the figure, to scuff him up a bit...haha🙂 Take care and happy weekend to you both. Ps About the adds, I have zero problem letting them run for you. I do believe that utube is already using you for revenue, as there were two 20 minute adds.
@@toypolloi all the moc versions from Spain and Italy have them, I think yours just had some paint rub. Any pics on Google would show this when mint on card 👍🏻 thanks
There's actually a lawsuit going on with Energizers and duracell With the pink Bunny in the USA Energizer has the rights for the pink Bunny And in Europe Duracell Has the rights for the pink Bunny

I love these kit versions of great figures.
@@primalconvoy The ironic thing is they can do that under Japanese law. The robot isn’t a copyrightable image as strange as it sounds.

The Evil Lord of Destruction lives again, thanks to Barbarosa customs & Toy Polloi.💀
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology!
Wise words Laura ; The Six-million- Dollar Man👍
I want this custom kit so bad! Just so I can paint it custom too. I paint D&D Minis, this seems so fun!
Great show today Mr. Toy Polloi :) I really enjoyed watching your assembly process on the new Skeletor kit. Thank you 😊
Nice custom... now awaiting the Terror claw & Dragon Blaster Skeletor restoration video!
Cutting electric...err ah, insulation tape with scissors is such a British thing to do. Absolutely brilliant! Great videi👍👍👍👍👍
Man this looked like so much fun to do. You solder like a boss btw. Heating the ends to strip the wires, I just learned a new life hack. Thanks Dave.
Awesome video. What a fab idea. Would love to see original Starwars figure kits that you could build and paint🙂
Thats so rad my inner child is just giggling inside!!!
This made me realize how cool Laser light Skeletor really is. You could take some really cool photos with it.
i love everything about this
Nice purchase on the helping hand set up. I've always wanted to add one to my tools. I've always thought how handy they would be for soldering and model work.
It's worth getting a tool clipper if you do any sort of soldering. Two hands are never enough.
Super cool I wanna Buy one kit

Great job! Was kinda hoping you'd paint more of the details on him, was curious how that would look.
I would love to see you do a custom one where you paint it more.
Another great video, I always enjoy watching these! Will Barbarossa send you a laser light He-man kit to follow up with this?! Great exposure for his work 😃
Quite enjoyed the entire build! Such a great kit!

Thank you so much 😀

Can you make 1 more where you paint all the sculpted details and make it look more realistic than factory?
I will never have the original on my shelf so I might take this project on ☺️. great video. 👍🏼

Another awesome video Brother. This one I have to try. Lazer power he man build up next????
Impressive.
I wish this kit was still available

maybe but overall does not really matter as cannot see it through the cape i imagine
You could do that and it would help. But they wouldn't have done that on the original toy. That has light bleed all over the place :D
LED's have a flat side that shows you where the cathode(-) is.
Love it as always
Whoa!!

nice! I went to click the barbarossa link, but the amount of s's and r's are the other way around. just so you know
Fixed. Thanks for letting me know.
Are you gonna do Peter's custom Laser Blaster Hordak next? or maybe his Laser Power He-Man once he makes it into a kit?
I'd love to build both of those sets.

Amazing
I think for me cause it depends on the factory that was making these toys That's why some of them look different
impressive, how can i get one kit of those
Links in the description.
FYI
The original version also has vertical black paint on the lips like a scarecrow 😃
They two original ones I have didn't have the vertical lines on the mouth. Like all toys there are always variations.

How did you get it because I followed your link and shipping only to the USA Mexico and Canada. thank you??
Email them and ask.
As good as the original
I might order 2 of these, one for toy accuracy, and the other for a gritty "battle damaged" skeletor
