He was the lead singer for Ace in the Hole back then and made the rounds of the beer joints in college towns. Everyone loved his dancing music. His big break was in 1983, when Eddie Rabbit was scheduled to sing at the Houston Livestock Show, but got sick. The HLSR got George to fill in, he was a huge success, and the rest is history.
King George will always be the humble cowboy that will never be forgotten. It amazes me to see how many people go to his shows just to see a piece of history. Wish I could send him some songs I’ve wrote
