I was there. 2006. They where supposed to film the show in south America. The production company was Swedish, so they decided to film it in Oslo, Norway. Cheaper, and Roy is Norwegian. So it all made sense. It was a great show. As always with Kamelot. I think you will enjoy them alot.

I envy you SO MUCH. I always believed that this is one of the best live show ever recorded, EVER. Incredible performace from start to finish. I never ever listened to the album version of those songs after this live. Absolutely incredible performance.

Roy Also released a song during lockdown called "For All" that is absolutely gorgeous.
He sings in a church in Norway, which there is a few videos of on youtube. Also a wedding performance where he sang Kamelot song "A Sailorman's Hymn"
He has since rejoined his original band Conception.

Kamelot is do uderrated metal band. Some say they are power metal, some say they are symphonic metal. For me it doesnt mater who sings Roy or Tommy. Both are fantastic. I can recomends tones (becouse it's metal 😉) of songs but whatever you choose will be great. Metal greatings 💪🏻 🤘

    Hello, Christi!
Love your reactions, so full of joy!
Roy is incredible! My favourite video of Kamelot is Kamelot - Abandoned from the DVD One Cold Winter's Night (2006). The full concert is brilliant!
I was dreaming to visit Kamelot concert to listen Roy live but he left the group. Some time later Kamelot came to Moscow with their new vocalist Tommy. It was great!
Hope power metal groups will visit Russia again some time.
I'd like to see your reactions for the bands Royal Hunt, Stratovarius and other power metal bands. So much great vocalists in metal.
And I love Mark Tremonti from Alter Bridge, Marko Saaresto from Poets of the Fall.

Glad we're back in business after last week's scare. Hallelujah! I like learning about all these metal bands too. I know more about the modern generation of groups I have grown up with, so it's great to get a larger perspective on how the metal genre has evolved.
On the topic of Elizabeth Báthory, there is an entire metal band named after her (Bathory). I only know their amazing song A Fine Day to Die, but I've read that they were a very influential Swedish metal band that started releasing music in the 80's.
Elizabeth Báthory is also the main villain in Castlevania: Nocturne, the second installment in a successful animated adaptation of the Castlevania videogames in which she also plays a role.
Anyway sorry for the side tangent, loved the reaction and hearing this band for the first time as well!
So excited for Sleep Token next week!! 👀🥳

Or "Sacrimony" from the same show with Alissa and Elize.

Kamelot started their career in later 90s playing win their native country (USA), meanwhile the ‘Death Metal, gender was gaining high popularity. His style of metal music (power-metal) didn’t have much recognition in the United States, so they decided to play concerts across Europe, a continent where we love power metal. Is the land of this gender (and metal music). Roy Khan joined to Kamelot in 1998( Norwegian 🇳🇴 mother and Thai 🇹🇭 father) immediately conquered Europe with his charismatic personality and theatrical way to sing in live performances or studio albums. Nowadays Kamelot plays more often in USA (time changes), but Europe is their homeland and they feel free to play their style anywhere in this continent. Next time to can try ‘Center of the Universe’ and I’m pretty sure you will like even more than this song 😊.Greetings from Colombia, South America.

I saw someone recommended Sacrimony by Kamelot, if you do that one you'll get to see both Alissa White-Gluz (lead vocalist of Arch Enemy) and Elize Ryd (of Amaranthe). Btw, Ryd is pronounced Rid and in Alissa's name the I is an E sound like Lisa.

To really enjoy/appreciate Khan's voice, go to his original band Conception and start with Flow ..
Then go back/forward from there .. (fielder's choice .. either direction is worth it)

Hi everyone. I unfortunately missed this live stream yesterday because I went to a Medieval Festival here in South Africa, for the whole day.
Much fun was had. I am busy watching the stream now while eating breakfast on Sunday morning.

I think the girl in the mirror is actually Simone Simons. There is another song from the same concert recording (The Haunting) where she joins Roy in singing on stage. Simone is also married to the Keyboarder of Kamelot.
Roy is one of my favorite singers, he's out of this world. He has such a rich voice. The whole album Karma by Kamelot is an absoulte masterpiece with phenomenal songwriting from start to finish. You should definitely checkout the title track "Karma" and "Forever". "Center of the Universe" of their album Epica is also amazing.

Great reaction, and an excellent choice! I think it would be fun to do a reaction to another Kamelot song featuring current lead vocalist Tommy Karevic...I would suggest the song "Sacrimony," which also features Alussa White-Gluz and Elize Ryd as guest vocalists. Here is the link:

Symphonic Power Metal is different, because of the symphonic aspect. There's a LOT of symphonic metal. It's not all power metal related. Dimmu Borgir, for example, is technically symphonic metal. It's classified as Symphonic Black/Death Metal. Metal is a maze of genres and sub-genres.

I think the focus on Elizabeths vanity takes away from her sadism. It's not like they just quickly slit their throats in their sleep after a nice meal or anything, she was way into torture, yes she did weird stuff with blood but if it was just for the utility she wouldn't have wasted so much blood in the torture sessions. Hell, she could keep a basement full of living chained up people to be drained a bit once a week, kill nobody and also never run out of blood. She was VILE. Incredible song though.

Both Roy Khan and Tommy Karevik are incredibly skilled vocalists and lyricists, but Roy is (in my opinion) the more skilled writer and the songs just haven't felt as deep since. Kamelot is still a banger of a band though.
