Originally from Liverpool UK - if you do not have a lot of money and reallllly high paying job forget all these places. The video does mention why. My daughter was living in Wollongong and she came back to live at home because rents and house prices are over the top. I live on the far south coast and even here rents and purchase prices are high. It was much easier in the past. If you really want to move here think about Wagga Wagga, Albury or some of the smaller country towns - and even these are no longer cheap.
I would definitely move more inland [currently North West Syd} I would pick Orange over Bathurst though! or any were that's not near the coast, but that's just me!
Albury could have been included too. I travel into Sydney quite frequently from the upper Blue Mountains as I like the vibe of the inner city suburbs and harbour. Orange and Bathurst are attractive towns and Newcastle is a favourite of mine as well. All the cities mentioned are pleasant places to live in or travel to. There are many excellent inland and coastal road trips in NSW.
Lisa, I hear that the mayors of Albury, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth and Broken Hill are asking for meetings with you 😄😄 For Bathurst you didn't mention the Mt Panorama racing track??🚗🚗
Newcastle has a new international airport terminal being built so you could of said that to anyone looking to go to Newcastle in the future so they can check for direct flights from where they are coming from if they are moving internationally
@@dreamingofdownunder Newcastle may attract a flight to NZ or into SE Asia however they will also compete with the new airport at Badgerys Creek so I wouldn't expect too much success for Newcastle International.
It’s likely that Newcastle airport will have direct flights to all the major Australian cities soon. There are multiple daily direct flights to Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as direct flights to Adelaide, Gold Coast and elsewhere. There are no direct flights yet to Perth or Hobart, but the airport is planning for those routes in the near future. International flights will likely commence in the second half of 2025 with probable destinations being Auckland, Fiji, Bali and Singapore. Other international destinations will probably follow later. You also didn’t mention the population of Newcastle. Greater Newcastle (which includes most of the suburbs of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock and Port Stephens), has a population of about 650,000. Suburbs range from inner city apartments and townhouses, to suburban bungalows, beachside and lakeside mansions and even semi rural acreages, all within half an hour or so from the CBD. So there is something there for everyone. Australias first high speed rail route has also been identified between Newcastle and Sydney. If and when it is built, it would reduce the travel time between the cities to perhaps about 40 minutes. After decades of talking about HSR, it seems likely that this will actually now happen, though it is just in the planning stages at the moment.
For me living in Lake Macquarie (Newcastle) or any city in NSW that is away from Sydney is a plus. Please dont encourage anymore people to come up this way just keep jamming them into that urban mess they call the Sydney basin its already hard enough trying to find somewhere to live up this way..
Wollongong is full. No houses left. Too expensive. Too many drop bears in the mountains. Too many hoop snakes between the mountains and the beach (deadly you know). Too many spring snakes in the sand on the beaches. Too many gonga sharks in the water. No fish here to catch, they swam away. Don't believe anyone who says it's our hidden paradise between the Pacific and the escarpment even though they're telling the truth. Don't believe me either.
@letsstudywithshrutimahajan9910 If anyone asks I'll deny I made this reply. If I was me I wouldn't believe my original comment because I know it's not true. If it was me asking myself where is the best regional location or city/town to relocate to I would tell myself it's where I live, northern suburb of Wollongong on the beach. I would also recommend myself I do some research to learn where would the best opportunities be for me and my requirements for lifestyle type of employment and family environment. Whether I would best be suited to country or coastal location and what type of climate would I be suited to. Tropical subtropical Mediterranean European or stinking hot bone dry arid climate that gets below freezing at night and up to 53°c in the afternoon or just bloody miserable year round cold weather. (If that's your preferred climate even the coldest pp arts way down south aren't for you.
Thank you for this very informative and interesting video.
Have a nice weekend!

Thanks Tad! You too.

@@tim1843 I agree. Some people are pedantic. Some words in parts of Australia are pronounced differently anyway.
