Little tip for the volcanoes if they’re giving you trouble! Always look towards the same one~ if it’s erupting, run away, if it’s not, run to it! This makes it so instead of looking back and forth, you’re focused on one location
1:26 ive done a few practices rounds and ive noticed something from the last couple ive done. Dunno if anyone else commented but you don't need to hug the wall. You can go wait either the A or B markers after the second line to wait. it makes dodging and moving into the top of the marker much easier
I did my first few attempts of this fight 2 days ago and got a bunch of clears yesterday. In every group there were 1 or 2 people doing this, so i tried it myself. I'm not going back to the wall hugging.
I definitely smiled real big when I saw a Hector Lecture. Your guides work so much better for my brain than any other ones. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do ❤
Here's a tip if you have a good headset: For the volcanoes, you can actually hear which direction is going to erupt based off the direction the sound is coming from in your headset. Obviously, this might also be based off of my sound settings in game. But this works for me.
More than anything, I appreciate the spoilerless title and thumbnail. While I know Trail #1 was announced long before the game's release, I had managed to avoid it only to get spoiled by another recommended video before making it there in the MSQ; when I wasn't even looking for content related to it. Thanks for the consideration to the community who are there for the story but are fans of your guides enough to have them recommended. ❤
I've loved Mister Happy's guides for several years, but unfortunately my English isn't good enough to really understand him. 🤣🙈 Then I found your guide. What can I say? It's great! So easy to understand and you can see much better when you need to go where! Thank you so much for the work you do here. I would have needed guides like this 10 years ago. You have a new follower! 🤗🥰
A little note about killing the first feather, by the time the final feather drops, everyone will be in that back corner, killing the second feather gives more uptime for melee, where the first feather will kill the melee or tanks who try to attack it when the final one lands.
Went into this blind with blind group and we managed to get half way into ice phase. Nice to see the mechanics so condensed here. Really makes it easily digestible. Will try to get a clear today! 💪
in my DC we might do it differently, but I always watch Hector Guide to better understand the mechanic, cuz Hector always explain it in details, also nice touch of cat video on the end. I stayed cuz of the cats 😻😻😻
I have only done the first normal trial (am leveling my crafters and doing side-quests etc) but I wanted to say how happy it made me seeing a guide from you again! Really appreciate your work ❤
I managed to clear from fresh in one sitting with a pf group because everyone was communicating well and checking reference videos, so thanks for putting good stuff out there
this video was a lifesaver, i had it playing picture-in-picture mode when i was trying this earlier! this was my first EX on launch, and it was super fun! thanks so much for making these!
@@ye9945 lmaoo exactly. Tank is my role in XIV and while my comment is a joke, it's also in regards to the fact they actually made the tankbusters interesting in the game. No shit they're easy to mitigate 😂 that's not what I'm saying. The whole tank swap back and forth while requiring both the tank and the rest of the party to face towards the boss to survive is a very interesting twist on tankbusters and I commend them for that!
This is the first extreme I've tried and god damn I Love tank swapping holy shit. I've been missing out on fun content for so long, this is awesome! Gonna get a clear soon, ready to move on past prog now :> I... did not know duty completion existed so I kept doing progs lol
im watching this videos thinking its not too hard, i just cant seem to bring myself to hit join on a pf. its like an unseen force stopping me from wanting to try. been suffering with this since shadowbringers.
Thank you so much! My only gripe is how the markers are set up, not being color coded for the light parties, like 2b and 3c on the same side where you would go for cone and donut makes more sense to me and would reduce confusion in pf pugs, but that was incredibly helpful!
I just started to do this fight and I noticed for the valcanoes I noticed I could just rely on sound to hear which one was going to erupt. The directional sound is really good.
What sucks for healers for the safe spot in learning parties is, when you spot heal you lose the target so you don't know where the arrow is ^.^ So you have to assume other people are in the right spot.
the little squish that the circles do when jumping is very important thank you for including it
Perfect way to illustrate jumping instead of specific movements

Headphones work well too
@@sadi5713on keyboard yes, on controller I have more limited buttons
The fact you cleared, then learned the fight well enough to document it and then edited this video the day I caught up with the story is insane
Can we just take a few moments to appreciate the jump in quality in these videos
Welcome back Hector! Nice to have you back
Good to be back.
this guide helped me get through my very first high end duty! these guides are awesome

This was the first EX I've ever tried. I can't thank you enough for this guide!
I just cleared my very first on-release EX thanks to your guide (and the awesome folks I teamed up with). Thank you!
Yay you are back! I was a little concerned there for a minute. Your format really helps me in ways other content creators don’t
I think he was gone because he was helping create Tessan Twintails UCOB guide

Thank you. Just cleared this tonight as a 39-year-old healer. I'm feeling pretty good about my abilities still as an old man!
I'm in the same exact boat, this guide was essential
I'm turning 37 soon, and in terms of ffxiv you're not that old... check out the grannylalafell stream on twitch sometime

i find this format easier to understand than the chaos of in game footage using freestyled strategy's like most other videos

Will try to get a clear today! 💪
PF now: Watch Mr Happy guide
PF Tomorrow: Hector Guide
so damn true
It better be, happy fires is really weird

True. I like MrHappy, but sometimes he rambles and goes off script.
so many better guides and strats and Hectors why do you all flock to him so badly?
in my DC we might do it differently, but I always watch Hector Guide to better understand the mechanic, cuz Hector always explain it in details, also nice touch of cat video on the end. I stayed cuz of the cats 😻😻😻
Just got my clear from starting fresh in just 2 hours. Thanks Hector
This was the guide that got us to clear last night FINALLY.
Thanks for this. to Ex2!
Wow, no wonder all the party finder groups are using the Hector method. Great video!
Your kitty at the end is so cute. Thanks for the guide!
I have only done the first normal trial (am leveling my crafters and doing side-quests etc) but I wanted to say how happy it made me seeing a guide from you again! Really appreciate your work ❤
Fantastic breakdown, thank you for going point-by-point with such clarity!
Thanks for the guide. Joined a fresh party and we clear after 40 mins with these strats!
i find that bumping sound on ur mic really relaxing. im not even being sarcastic, it really soothes my nerves while studying this.
I'm doing my first 'big' raids, thanks to your guide it's made quite simpler! Thanks so much :D
I managed to clear from fresh in one sitting with a pf group because everyone was communicating well and checking reference videos, so thanks for putting good stuff out there
Come here to say THANKS! I cleared yesterday thanks to your guide! Keep up the good work ❤
MOOGLE SMASH! THANKS FOR AWESOME GUIDE KUPO HAPPY YOUR BACK!

Sir..Thank you for the cat video at the end. Made my day!

Welcome back, Hector, and thanks for another amazing guide! Gonna be starting prog on this right now!
I actually understood this guide way more than Mr Happy’s…
Hector. I love you bro.
Bless you and your guides ! you're the absolute GOAT
Came here for the strats, stayed for the cat
Welcome back king. Nice to see you're still here enjoying the game
my favourite FFXIV strat youtuber is back, all is well again \o//
Just cleared it thanks to you
And i don't usually do extremes or any hard content
Just got my clear thanks to your video! Glad to see your back.
We missed you! Welcome back!
Welcome back Hector!! Another great guide!
Thank you for all the work you do! Really helped me out.
A really nice and well made video
end of the video: KITTY!!!

Great guide as always Hector, thank you very much.
Thank you, I just got my first clear because of this ❤
this video was a lifesaver, i had it playing picture-in-picture mode when i was trying this earlier! this was my first EX on launch, and it was super fun! thanks so much for making these!
Yoshi-P really took those tanking complaints seriously..
what do you mean its not even that hard to survive that buster a sage literally just presses panhaima and you only need to pop a 40% mit
@@kumoko3728It's a joke my guy :') (also kinda missed the point of my comment)

Thanks again for the guide and the nice diagrams.

Ugh, gonna try this as my first EX sometime in the next few days, feels like prepping for an open note exam.
Thanks for the guide. Looking forward to this fight.
edit: oh right and good job paying the cat tax
thanks for the video Hector , looking forward to savage vids as well
Watched this in preparation for my first run. There will be a lot of pain.
3:17 Lmao i love that bouncy animation 🤣
Sweet guide but I'll never get over how you pronounce stuff
I'll never forget Azdaja and now this
I found that if you line up the front of its face / beak to the tower for Mountain Fire you should be behind it every time.

Are you still on the fence? I’m dragging a fresh friend into this fight on Monday on pf. Wanna join? Lol
I assure you if you join PF you won't be the worst
Join, I did went in totally blind with this guide in front of me, we got to twin stacks but I advise WHMs if people wanna play squishy
Thank you so much for coming back. We’ve missed you 😭
It took me one (1) guide to sub to this guy.
This one.
I may not always use his strats, but his vids are usually worth checking out.
thank you for another guide!!!! Going to go in and attempt for my first time now ^.^
Nice and clear guide, Thank you!

Looks like a fairly intuitive fight, glad to see your guides back Hector
Welcome Back Hector🙌
Thank you for the amazing guide, awaiting everkeep
Very well done, thank you for the guide!
Cleared thanks to this guide, thank you!
I was quite literally looking for a guide for this fight by you maybe an hour ago. So glad you have one up now 🤣
thx so much, this helped me clear my first extreme!!
welcome back! so glad to see you making guides again!
Came for the guide, stayed for the cat
glad to have you back!

I just started to do this fight and I noticed for the valcanoes I noticed I could just rely on sound to hear which one was going to erupt. The directional sound is really good.
first time getting into ex's when they're current, and holy crap. just the guide kinda broke my brain a little
Always a bad thing when the boss consorts with the Ruinous Powers.
Thank you for the guides. Keep ignoring the jealous streamer haters and keep at it.
Cleared, thanks for the guide. :D
You pop up in my recommended Videos feed now Hec!
Thank you, got the mount on first try ❤
Glad to have you back for DT.

great guide. got my clear today. you rule
Love you Hector. Your guides are always the best!
What exactly is the "RMMR/HTTH" I keep seeing in PF strats?
I have yet to see a guide explain this. Is that an Aether DC designation for spreads?
Welcome back Hector! Love your guides! Thank you for all your hard work
11:28 I have trouble actually seeing the saffe spot when this happens. It's usually a blur of orange and then the waymark covers a good portion.
Do you have a heartbeat indicator or tap the desk to do your timing? I'm not sure what it is, but its during your pauses.
Now i get why people put "hector strat" in the group finder description. this is the Crème de la Crème of FFXIV boss guides
