I have watched several of your video tutorials for PC2, and AMS2 uses de same engine. Great to see your video, and hope you can make tutorials for it! Best
ams2 may not be the most accurate or realistic racing sim, if anything car handling is somewhat floaty at times, but it is so easy to pick up and play, just a couple of adjustments to downforce and gearing and yoi are ready for a fun time...
I had to turn the tires audio down to 10. The sound is cheesy and not helpful. Weirdly, as I race in VR, it helped the feeling of the car being more connected, as all the senses are working together to create the illusion, with the brain filling in the blanks. I feel like this is such a good step, so close, but I wonder if it’s reaching the limits of the madness engine and how it interprets physics. I don’t know much about it, but it seems like it’s very close to being really really good. It leaves a little to be desired still. But one of my favorite sims for sure.
im here for the VR and LFM i currently drive AC in VR (and record the races on my channel).. ACC i just never jelled with so im hoping to do my first asm2 lfm race later once i get up to pace in the lmp2.. i also found the ffb far better using gamer muscles ffb file which reduces it to the pure signal from the steering rack.. still no where near as good as the OG AC but when i tried default plaus on my G PRO it was horrible. i also had to use the g923 option in game as the G PRO with separate pedals option made my TLCM pedals not work but i assume it shouldn't make any difference to the ffb
No, they're on simplified physics compared to the player. They can get to much higher slip angles, way beyond what any player could ever rescue, and still catch it. It was a thing back when I was working at SMS on various PCARS titles too.
@@Yorkie065 hybrids in the LMDhs don't have speed requirements for deployment, that's only for the LMHs that deploy hybrid power to the front axles. The hybrid system in AMS2 for the LMDhs is pretty accurate now. The different ERS modes give more hybrid power in place of ICE power for better fuel efficiency. The only thing AMS2 is still missing is regen settings like there is in LMU, but deployment outside of the outdated ERS names that we still have is accurate.
I can tell you now, being a games designer on what would have been Project CARS 4, AMS2 isn't even close to what we had lined up before it got cancelled. PC4 would have made this look more like what PC3 should have been.
@@Yorkie065I thought pc2 had nice ai driving. Comparing to Forza. Idk what’s these game devs are doing w forzas ai they act like there on a slot track and can’t be pushed off the line, not smart enough to pass and just ram you off the track, random braking in the turns or getting off the gas esp like Daytona why?? Should be wide open. The ai start veering off the line it like slams the ai steering and have major tire scrub instead of smoothly getting back on the line. I like the forum for support and direct contact to devs and the team. They seriously need some help. Maybe you have some suggestions? Ima have to get acc2 looks like a solid fun game.
Nice one with interesting elaborate commentary! And while racing very fast ar the same time which blows my mind. I hope you will do more AMS2 videos !

you'll have to try a wet race to see if that's improved with regards to wet vs dry line grip levels
They finally fixed the night shadow textures bug after 4 years which is massive news as well
Unfornuately not. Yesterday the bug was there.after the Fix
@@ThePape78 I've not seen it in single player one time since 1.6, that was one of the main things that put me off night racing.
Youre back !!!!
Beats I racing now.
well if iracings new tire model in 2025 brings it closer to AC i may subscribe but as it stands now id rather play ams2

MP still has a lot of bugs, disconnected servers are very common.

Maybe they're saving it so much because the skill level is set high?

is it accurate the implematation oh IMSA Hybrid in AMS 2 ?
pretty much, hybrid doesnt boost performance anymore but enhances the effiency of the engine/fuel consumption
@captainaustria95 isnt IMSA hybrid different than WEC rules?
Only in terms of the speeds at which the hybrid is deployed and to what axles. I don't think they impact the actual total power output.

Yup, that's what I was saying in the video too. And that is more the detailed explanation to the answer of the hypercar Vs GTP/LMDH differences.
