Thank You so much I made this. It is the best harness I ever had. All the others that I bought online or from the store are very uncomfortable and do not fit well. I’ve wasted so much money buying different harnesses just to find out I could’ve made one myself that fits so much better and is more comfortable for my cat.✌️❤️
Awesome, I am going to put this to use with my Belgian Malenois for a harness. Going to make it in shades of blue, her name is River Song from Doctor Who and I am training her as a service dog. :-) Awesome Ozzie was so good for you.
If you have problems with your cat escaping from the harness, try making tighter, the collar shouldn't allow the cat to slide it's paws and arms, and the other section is usually fine if you can slide your thumb comfortably, (make sure it doesn't allow the cat to slide it's elbows but not soo much it can't inhale easily). To test the harness without risks, just tie the cat to a immovable object, once the cat realizes it's tied it should try to break free like it does outside, if not just try to walk it indoors. If the cat freaks out remember that, unlike dogs, they are not used to walk beside you or be on a leash, have patience and begin with a proper routine of harness and leash training. Older and/or more nervous cats may require professional training.
Your Ozzy looks like my little black beauty, LoLo… except my girl has ZERO white hairs on her! She is 100% black! Even her claws are black and she has black spots in her mouth. Black cats are one of my favorites when it comes to kitties and their color patterns. LoLo's sister, LiLi is a Tuxedo Kitty with a cute little mustache and white stripe on her face that makes her nose look like an upside down heart. Your kitty is beautiful!
Wow, thank you so much! I´ll do this for my Chihuahua named Damon. But I´ll use Parcacord TYP 1 and the King Cobra Knot. Awesome your cat is so sweet, peaceful and trusting. Compliments for you both!
He even added an EXTRA INCH after LOOSELY MEASURING the neck width and behind the cats front legs, HE AND ANYBODY ELSE WHO MEASURES LIKE THIS ARE ABSOLUYELY LOSING THEIR CAT THE SECOND THAT CAT GETS SPOOKED AND STARTS HOPPING AND SCRAMBLING AROUND. I would air on the tighter side and just not have the harness on for too long until you know the temperament of your cat and how it acts outside. Once the cat is accustomed to being outside and isn't going to spook at the first thing it sees then maybe go for a more loose fitting harness even if a cat is comfortable outside they can suddenly spook so for anybody choosing to take their cat outside for the first time especially if it's their cats first timen outside I would be very cautious and not follow these "measuring directions" I would make it nice tighter and as long as it's not too restrictive and isn't kept on for too long it shouldn't be harmful as long as it's not too tight around chest and neck to restrict the breathing

its best to make a harness. like as in sew one.. yourself.. one that specifically fits your kitty. And a vest/jacket style with a buckle closure (not velcro) is also best. this one is too flimsy to work right.
hi. I could not follow how to calculate the cord for a collar. my dogs neck is 16 inches . could you pleasetell mehowlaarge the cord shold be cut? thank you for your help.
These instructions are specifically for a harness. For more accurate directions on making a collar, this video may be of help. th-cam.com/video/cHUvUpXE3Xs/w-d-xo.html
Its still a good starter harness for beginners, but i'm with you it can dig into their skin if they tend to pull alot. If they are pulling though it could be a few things but the biggest is they aren't used to being on a leash yet so you need to give them time to get used to wearing a harness before even attaching a leash. And if they are still big pullers there are other designs out there that spread out the weight of them pulling better. But this is a good harness to use as a starting point for getting a cat leash trained.
There is 0 chance of digging into your animal if you follow these loose measuring instructions. I made one following this and my cat slipped it the first time. Note: a harness this loose would be good for training your cat to get accustomed to it while around the house (when they slip it, you can put it back on and keep playing that game to they get over it). But it is not good measuring instructions for practical use.
@@LeighaLeighton not completely true, I bought a commercially produced version of this design years ago and it's great. now I don't believe my cat is the size of Ozzie here (OMG btw)
Shout out to Ozzie for being so good during the video.

So was your measurement 19 in with the buckle or just the cord?
I’m making one for a beautiful black kitty too! Thanks
Please make sure to use a good harness with support and padded. 💕 This can hurt the cat
Perfect! Thank you for helping me with creating a harness for my cat!
Thank you for such a great video. Clear, easy instructions. And Ozzy is a boo-tee-full model. 🐈

Also can this be for a dog to?
You might need to adjust the lengths of the connecting pieces, but it should work for a dog. If it's a big dog, you'll want to use heavy duty buckles.

👍🙌🙌Thanks a lot !
How did you manage the loose ends of the strings after knitting the square knots ?? Kindly let us know .
Thus was an awesome tutorial.👍👍
Can you use a D ring?
A d-ring should definitely work!
Ok thanks
Just what I have been searching all evening for! Going to make it for a xsmall dog though👍thx!
great tut, but in all tutorials you make a cut when it comes to the ending collar/harness so I dont know how to make a nice ending...
I think it would look beter with a small D ring, other then that it looks great! Im gonna try this
Thank you

made it, cat got out, chased the cat, ran into a rose bush, caught cat, carried cat home, the cat now hates outside. I hate outside too.

I just use 2 slip leashes and make a self tightening cat harness, works great, my sister lost her pet cat on her wedding day, I know better
That's one big black matou!
Yay, now I can make a paracord harness for my cat
Except... on me, don't judge me ;^;
Assuming your username is accurate, yes, this would likely work on a werewolf. 🐺
Hehe, yeah
Awwww muito fofo com seu gatinho! 😻😻😻😻😻😻🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wow, genius ! God bless
Very cute, but can also dig into their skin. Please be careful! 💕
Wtf
Thats why they said to leave two fingers of space. For that EXACT reason 🙄

Ahhh tenho um gato preto também e se chama Salem 🥰🥰🥰😽😽😽
go ozzie
wow
Lol the cat don't like that
Not good for the cat. Better just be for show. Not padded or supported enough 🐾
my cat would escape that.
Some are definitely feistier than others ;)
APPLAUSE
Not a good harness please don't use. Need one with pad and support 💕
