Great with my R10. I also got the EF-S 10-18 STM and EF-S55-250 STM as a fantastic, lightweight kit with the R10 and a continuous 16-400mm effective field of view. And at 2024 prices all three used in excellent condition for about $500. Totally satisfied with the images as well as the build and handling of these lenses. I am a former pro who is now just a hobbyist (hate that word! It sounds so dilettante! LOL) and also have the R8 with most all of the STM primes and the 24-105 F7.1 and 100-400 F8 for when I crave full frame, but that R10 with those three STMs has really grown on me! And yes, I will sometimes take that 100-400 USM F8 with my R10 for a 640mm effective field of view If I am doing more serious wildlife/sports and need that extra reach. Excellent review and pretty danged accurate. Thankfully a bit of post handles all the issues, and sitting at post is something I truly love!
Most lenses handle the sun in the frame pretty well. This lens produces at least on my copy a bright light saber across the frame. I immediately sold this otherwise good lens. At 35mm it was blurry on the right side though.
I wonder why you’re reviewing this older model when there’s a newer version available: The (nano) USM version. I own the USM version, but I must say that I mostly prefer the 18-55 + 55-250 STM combo. The 55-250 is lighter and much sharper than the 18-135. Actually I find the 18-135 uncomfortably heavy, and the difference between 135 and 250mm is obvious.
Hi, Great video! I just got the Canon 90d with 18-135mm! Would I still need get the Canon 40mm lens or would the results be the same? Somone told me I should buy a 50mm and or the 24mm lens too. What do you think?
I’m looking to get one of these. I see there are many options for them. There’s a is, is Usn, and a stm lens. Is there one that looks the best, sharpest? Thanks!!
Stm and usm versions have the same image quality. Usm lenses are bigger, more expensive with a more precise focusing system. Thats all :D + stm lenses are quieter.

Also works well adapted to the Canon M cameras. Great results on my Canon M6. I've been to Bratislava twice. Lovely city!
Flare can be avoided if you attach lens hood
Even the superzooms are good nowadays. I watched reviews of the Nikon 24-200 Z and the Tamron 28-200 for full frame Sony. Impressive lenses.
Please review the usm one

What are the minimum and maximum F-stop numbers at each main focal length.... e.g. 18mm, 24, 50 etc..

55-250........too near
I have a question, does this lens work on Canon 600D camera?
Yes
Tamron 16-300 mm or this?
If you have the money go for Tamron.
