Welcome to my part of the world. I was born and raised in Göteborg = Gothenburg. Not that you see anything from my city in this video. In February I get to go to my first Sabaton concert in Göteborg, to see Tommy and the other guys live. Hopefully they play this then. The upcoming venue is much smaller than this though. I couldn't see if you had the captions on that translates what they're singing. It's a very emotional song. The Swedish lyrics sung here is very different from the english version.
Good morning Carina., I actually prefer the Swedish version. They are so much stronger then the english version. This video is the reason I am going to Stockholm to see then in April
They started the show with Ghost Division and ended with To hell and back, which is what they normally do. This song was in the encore. They adapt their setlist to the country they play in. In Belgium they will play Resist and Bite, and the last time I saw them at Graspop Metal Meeting in June they premiered Race to the sea for us
Nice reaction, I was at this show (sitting somewhere in the middle of the platform to the left from this view of the stage) needless to say, it was one hell of a show that night.
One of the best concert videos I have ever seen. I hope you had the captions on. The lyrics in swedish are so much better then the english version. This video is also the reason I am travelling to Stockholm just to see them in their home country. Goosebumps all over. It is such an emotional song. The album to it, carolus Rex in swedish is my favourite album of Sabaton. You should also check out 'livgårdet'. There are also to versions, an english and a swedish and the videos are connected. You need to watch first the english and then the swedish version
I was at the gig. It was just before Covid hit. No, it was not the closing song, but the most emotional.. for obvious reasons. Awesome night. Ive been to 6-7 shows and its always special when they do this one. Next time in Gothenburg will be 19/2. Me and my son will be going of course :)
I look around and I see my home fade away My time at home now feels far too short Just a youth, barely a man when duty called me If i get to see my home again, that I do not know Amongst friends from my village, I went out to figtht And the world burned
For war it can Destroy a man I give my life for my homeland But who will mourn me? So see me as A husband, a friend Father and son who never comes home But who will miss me?
Went to fight for Sweden, was baptized in blood Out there where death awaits, not heroism In fields where kinsmen fall no song is heard Challenging our destiny one more time
Far from home Baptized and die in battle
And the world burned
For war it can Destroy a man I give my life for my homeland But who will mourn me? So see me as A husband, a friend Father and son who never comes home But who will miss me?
And when my time runs out Who cares then? They fight on Does a soldier get a worhty end? To fall asleep Pass away And never wake up
For war it can Destroy a man I give my life for my homeland But who will mourn me? So see me as A husband, a friend Father and son who never comes home But who will miss me? lyricstranslate.com
You should have English subtitles on as it is from a soldier's view can shine in English too but it is from the leaders' point of view and you know that sabaton history has two variants one for Swedish and one for English (same war but different view)
this song is really very deep. It is absolutely necessary to know the lyrics of the song
I agree. Do it again WITH captions ON :)
Yes this song makes a grown man cry
I concur

So damn good in Swedish 😍💯🤘👌
Usually there are subtitles when watching this video. You have translation to English in the comments to the original video.
Yeah, but can’t blame him.

You need to have the lyrics on for this
Pars reaction to the crowd when they sing in the beginning will always be priceless.... j/s
It's a masterpiece🤘❤

I know this is about the 30 years war, but it hits every vet hard. No matter what country you served.

Another masterpiece of live concert is Bard's song & Valhalla by Blind Guardian live in Wacken ❤️
You really need to have the captions on. It makes the whole experience so much more and deeper.
They sing about the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) .. Where Sweden became a great power 💙💛
yea man Hakkapeliitat ;)
@@Finkele1 A great combination!

At least i understand 95% of the words. My swedish is getting worse...
At last..'play A'..🇸🇪
Such a powerful performance and such a shame I cannot experience it in Swedish, as I'm told, the English translation is not hardly as meaningful!
Please react to HammerFall - Living in Victory 2.0 Remix and Never Forgive Never Forget
you are missing half the experience when you don't have lyrics on.
