Thank you for this delicious recipe! My fussy family all enjoyed it. I used 4 cups of all purpose flour and added more water to the mixture then required to get the right consistency of dough. I only had the ‘5 spice’ so I also added in a pinch of chilli powder and cinnamon to the meat mixture. Turned out really well.

I'm an arab who's trying to experiment more with vegan food! Do you think there's a way of replacing the meat in shish barak with something that will taste just as good?!
You can fill it with parsely and coriander and ground cashew or walnut. To make it vegitarian but the yogurt is still milk and needed to poach the dumplings

Angie Carolina pine nuts. They’re used in pesto. They’re super delicious but pretty expensive. Best variety is Spanish in my experience.
