I think its the other way around, No many venture into Sarangi because not many get to play as accompaniment. :) And some artists, I feel, don't like sarangi, as sarangi can play exactly what the singer sings, but a harmonium can never come to that level in-spite of however good the player is, due to the instrument limitations. My personal opinion from my experiences.
rishishenoy ; all the points that you make are valid. Coupled with the fact that the Sarangi is not considered to be easy to master. About Harmonium accompaniment, there is a rainbow of opinions....
@@spandana_music In some concerts both sarangi and harmonium are accompanying. Unlike harmonium, sarangi stands unique. It can be independently played, since it is very near to khyaal singing.
Translation: O Durga! Empress of Goddesses Allow us mortals to break free from the life-death cycle of this world. You are the progenitor of the entire creation. For Your devotee-children, You are the dispeller of worldly agonies. You vanquished MahishAsura, and slayed demons like Shumbha and Nishumbha. This universe itself is Your incarnation.
Translation of Vilambit Bandish: O Mother! I feel privileged that You have bestowed so many virtues upon me. You are the dispeller of grief, O merciful Mother Sharada (Saraswati)! To both the fortunate and the unfortunate, You grant intelligence. This servant bows his head at Your feet. Please bless this world, it is 'Amar's' (pen-name) prayer to You, O Mother!

Very refreshing to see a Sarangi Accompaniment. Excellent ! !
rishishenoy : agreed on that point. However not many musicians take Sarangi accompaniment, just as there aren't many Sarangi players now.

Thank you so much. Highly indebted to you for this :))))
Good rendering. But lyrics are heard very harshly as against their very sublime smooth pronouncing especially in khyaal singing.
Malkauns is not his forte. going up and down the scale.
