Just had my bottle here in the UK today from fragrance X. Bit like you said it hasn't blown me away with projection etc straight out of the bottle compared to the club de nuit range or Bentley intense but I do love the notes especially being over 40 now. 👍

Especially, people like us from the Sub- Continent, we know what pure vetiver (Khass / Khass ka Atar) smells like and it is so divine. It is one of those unique notes in perfumery which has both the warming and the cooling effects.
After using it on me I can say that your review is spot on.You are really a professional reviewer of Perfumes.I pray God you keep on bringing these masterpieces to public notice.By the way if you compare it with Guerlain vetiver what will be your ratings?
Thank you Sunil. Guerlain Vetiver and AL extreme are different scents in nature, this is more about multiple notes wheres as Guerlain accentuates the Vetiver note solely with the other notes playing a supportive role.

Bought this two days ago and can't stop smelling it..it has a weird addictive quality to it where once you put it on you don't want it to wear off so you keep re spraying..I also picked this fragrance up for under £30 and still can't believe how cheap it is..niche quality for sure..if you've bought this fragrance and don't like it just hold onto it and put it away then come back to it at a later date..trust me you'll thank me

Amazing review. It was spot on , I own this one and its a gem, this is a big shot fragrance because of its harshness and mysteriousness . Believe me the compliments will come once you get intimate with a woman its masculinity is inescapable.
I have received today this extreme version and I can say that it is really a GEM.Not very strong it is very smooth very fine and very easy on your nose and calms down mind. Very peaceful very wearable and very very exotic fragrance.I was looking and searching this smell for past many years and in my search I had to settle for Gucci by Gucci pour homme and ultimately I have got what I was looking for many years.Now I will buy Lalique encre noir original version too.
But I have noticed that it's projection and longevity is very poor in 35 degree humid weather in India may be it will perform better in winters.Is it true that it performs only during winters and cold climate?Or is it a diluted version of original encre noire EDT VERSION.
Got my genuine bottle .It really has a class fragrance very beautifully done but does not last in July month.Will keep it with me and start from November when the climate is cold and my perfume will not faded easily.It also reminds me of Gerogio Armani code.
Actually, i really like the smell, but as you said i think i dont have projection and i think i don't smell to people at all, because when i spray fragrance i don't smell it neither. So what you suggest,where to spray , or maybe am i tripping about fragnance performance?

Fantastic review mate, one of the best so far on this fragrance. I have been wanting to get this for a while now because it is so intriguing and inexpensive. Nathalie Lorson is one of my favourite perfumers and I already own Bentley Intense. Although, it is approaching summer here in Australia so I'm not sure it will get a lot of wear anytime soon if I do bite the bullet and buy it now. I hope the price doesn't increase or I will be regretting not purchasing sooner. Nice work once again.

I'm new to this fragrance stuff,but i got hooked a few months ago and i now have 72 fragrances,my nose is new to the different notes lol,anyway i have made a few purchases based on your reviews and if i'm being honest this and the Faqat Lil Rijal are taking some getting used to,as a newbie i smell that barnyard cowshit smell lol and its laughable in a way,it does bugger off after a while,but this lalique to my new nose and remember its a new nose,just smells dark,real dark and i think it will take time,having said that from a distance it smells better than with my nose on it.Anyway loving the vids and your style
I do why see people like this, who dont like vetiver ?! For me its just to strong or maybe i dont like the vetiver/woody thing in it. I love the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP, i dont think its the same vetiver in them, but for me its just to strong. Great review as always.
thank you Kasper and yes you are absolutely right, the vetiver here is quite different from grey vetiver. I think you might like this if you were to try it in the dead of Winter, it shines then. In my books this is a very fine fragrance :)
Sir does the original 2007 version of encre noir is stronger and more long lasting and better sillsge compared to this extreme version?This extreme version has very poor performance in these hot humid 35 degree temp weather.Does this fragrance will long last only in colder winter months.? Although our Ruh khus vetiver is meant to be used in summers.Is this extreme version is a bit cut down diluted version of original encre noire?Please answer my query.Does the original ,encre noire also does not last in hot humid days? Our Indian high quality Ruh khus has 3 to 4 hours of projection in hot summers.

My favorite in whole Encre Noire line. It's not 100% inspiration but it reminds me Chanel Les Exclusifs Sycomore (not sure may be Vetiver is one of my favorite note :P). Surprisingly it was my SOTD at work today (before watching your video) since it's rainy cold fall day here in Houston, TX. I have resprayed after lunch on my hand and watched your detailed review while sniffing it :D Great to see your video on this genius fragrance & thanks for sharing your comprehensive thoughts on it as always. Out of Nathalie's work I love Bentley Intense and Ysl Black opium...I really wanna try the Encre noire series but it's not found in stores here in India so I can't test it out so I'm skeptical buying a bottle directly without smelling it even once cause it's said to be a "challenging fragrance" (even though it's inexpensive)😓

Perfornance is the most controversial point of this fragrance. If applied to skin, it evaporates in 1-2 hours without a trace, from what I've experienced.
Hi Chris, I tend to spray fragrances that are high quality under my shirt. High quality fragrances have better sillage and its more pleasurable when the various notes combine with the trapped body heat to create an amazing rendition of the various notes like this one. Fragrances that project a lot like the modern designers are best worn on the shirt and exposed skin which I do . I mostly combine the number of sprays with some under my shirt and some under it.
Wonderful question Douglas. Well common sense would dictate that the price would be = Raw Materieals + Packaging + Marketing & Distribution + Labour but then when you see the prices of Xerjoff, Parfums de Marley and Creed and compare it to fragrance like this, above equation just doesn't make sense does it :)
Love your videos... But that background music has to go brother. In my opinion, its a distraction &/or interferes with your passionate reviews. Glad you stopped it towards the end though cause I really enjoy paying attention to your closing statements. Keep up the great content!
Thank you John, I will sort the voice issues. The only reason I keep background music is it acts as a good dimension but in this video it seems it was a bit louder so became distracting I guess.

I'm new to this fragrance stuff,but i got hooked a few months ago and i now have 72 fragrances,my nose is new to the different notes lol,anyway i have made a few purchases based on your reviews and if i'm being honest this and the Faqat Lil Rijal are taking some getting used to,as a newbie i smell that barnyard cowshit smell lol and its laughable in a way,it does bugger off after a while,but this lalique to my new nose and remember its a new nose,just smells dark,real dark and i think it will take time,having said that from a distance it smells better than with my nose on it.Anyway loving the vids and your style
I do why see people like this, who dont like vetiver ?! For me its just to strong or maybe i dont like the vetiver/woody thing in it. I love the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP, i dont think its the same vetiver in them, but for me its just to strong. Great review as always.
thank you Kasper and yes you are absolutely right, the vetiver here is quite different from grey vetiver. I think you might like this if you were to try it in the dead of Winter, it shines then. In my books this is a very fine fragrance :)
Sir does the original 2007 version of encre noir is stronger and more long lasting and better sillsge compared to this extreme version?This extreme version has very poor performance in these hot humid 35 degree temp weather.Does this fragrance will long last only in colder winter months.? Although our Ruh khus vetiver is meant to be used in summers.Is this extreme version is a bit cut down diluted version of original encre noire?Please answer my query.Does the original ,encre noire also does not last in hot humid days? Our Indian high quality Ruh khus has 3 to 4 hours of projection in hot summers.
Sunil, I have covered the performance issue in the video, i think you skipped it. This fragrance gets stronger , the longer it matures in the bottle.

If this extreme version is not available the 2006 version is also equally similar in base notes. and it's longevity and projection compared to extreme version?

My favorite in whole Encre Noire line. It's not 100% inspiration but it reminds me Chanel Les Exclusifs Sycomore (not sure may be Vetiver is one of my favorite note :P). Surprisingly it was my SOTD at work today (before watching your video) since it's rainy cold fall day here in Houston, TX. I have resprayed after lunch on my hand and watched your detailed review while sniffing it :D

Out of Nathalie's work I love Bentley Intense and Ysl Black opium...I really wanna try the Encre noire series but it's not found in stores here in India so I can't test it out so I'm skeptical buying a bottle directly without smelling it even once cause it's said to be a "challenging fragrance"

I Will call this encre noir,and the original the extrême .
Perfornance is the most controversial point of this fragrance. If applied to skin, it evaporates in 1-2 hours without a trace, from what I've experienced.
Why do you spray under your shirt does the juice perform better that way never heard of that
Hi Chris, I tend to spray fragrances that are high quality under my shirt. High quality fragrances have better sillage and its more pleasurable when the various notes combine with the trapped body heat to create an amazing rendition of the various notes like this one.
Fragrances that project a lot like the modern designers are best worn on the shirt and exposed skin which I do .
I mostly combine the number of sprays with some under my shirt and some under it.
Which would you pick Bentley for Men Intense or Encre Noire A L'Extreme?

Well common sense would dictate that the price would be = Raw Materieals + Packaging + Marketing & Distribution + Labour but then when you see the prices of Xerjoff, Parfums de Marley and Creed and compare it to fragrance like this, above equation just doesn't make sense does it :)

Thank you John, I will sort the voice issues. The only reason I keep background music is it acts as a good dimension but in this video it seems it was a bit louder so became distracting I guess.
