I have the holy trinity of Encre Noire. All 3 of the offerings and I love each and every one of them. The original is my favourite, and one of my favourite scents of all time. EN did what nobody had the balls to do and created niche level appeal in a designer release. They paved the way for perfumers to think "maybe it's okay to be daring". This is a sentiment we badly need in the industry during these times. I think if I had to rank them, it's EN original >Sport>Extreme. EN's vetiver is still unmatched to me. I even prefer it over Guerlain's take on vetiver. Sport is definitely the most wearable. One of my favourite houses.

Depends on how far into your fragrance journey you are in. EN original is a very polarizing scent, and it's challenging to find the right occasions to wear it. EN original is a fragrance you wear for you, not for other people, imo. Take note that it has been reformulated, and is not as daring and intense, nor as long lasting as it used to be. If you like vetiver, current EN is a great scent and still very unique. I recommend all 3. EN Extreme is original EN with incense. And EN Sport is original EN with grapefruit. All 3 share the same base as the original with an added note or two. Sport is the most wearable of the 3.
Ah damn... bah... hard to find the right time to wear it. And yeah you're not a girl you're a man. Encre Noire seems amazing, the original... classic. Right, it has been reformulated... I should've guessed, everything good gets reformulated. Don't even want it, in that case. Thanks for telling me. So yeah idk... fcking shitters reformulated, everything. I'll just buy DHP lol. I am a man in his early 20s, I live in a very hot climate, and I have been wearing this for a little to test it out. I would say this is great fragrance for a younger man who wants to feel more mature but doesn’t want something real “old man-ish”. Reminds me of walking through the woods on a hot day and there is a big body of water real close by. Great review Joy! I always find myself watching your older reviews when I have a new fragrance on 😂🙌🏽
I blind bought A L'Extreme because I wanted to know what an extreme version of the original would smell like. Not extreme, but nice. Have sport too and it is more wearable for sure. Thanks.
I enjoy wearing Encre Noire & Encre Noire Sport on rainy days. Others I like on rainy days are Narciso Rodriguez for Men EDT or EDP & Amouage Memoir Man.
I sprayed it without shaking when it arrived. Smelled like exactly EN original but lighter. Then I shook the bottle and it is only after shaking before spraying I get the fruit. Weird. But that might explain why some talk about the fruit while others say they just smell EN original
I live the EN Trio. I have all 3 and I agree this one has the same effect as Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche. Also Joy bhai initially it smells very similar to the original and intense version of Issey Miyake. Do check it out the similarity

Let me start to say that the original one is my favorite...by far. it's my second bottle :-) contrary to what I'm hearing the original is wearable and I have much stronger fragrances in my collection..IMO you don't need à l'extrême if you have the original. Now the Sport version goes into another direction as it is quite fresh in the opening..but has still the original DNA in the dry down. Yes; I agree the opening is fantastic. You can wear all of them in all seasons
Encre Noir Sport and CDNIM pure parfum are the only fragrances that I have restocked. Restocked because I never want the original smell to water down. Love the Haitian and bourbon vetiver amalgamation in Encre Noir Sport. Its a masterpiece!!
hi, Big Fan of your channel. Just one suggestion, the way you say "wood" it sounds like "oud". If i had not checked the fragrantica website i would have thought that this one is an Oud fragrance. Hopefully you can change the pronunciation a bit to be more clear.

But you know our countries environment is different. If you can make a review for best fragrances for our environment with more silage or spread around. I have many perfumes with me but they dont spread around you. you know what i mean like you walk in and people can turn their heads. Kamran
Actually printing is not that cheap compared to engraving :) If you are engraving parts like this for a big amount it will just cost very less since they don't take too much time to engrave. PS: I worked in laser industry.

Charles German actually the original is more a l'extrême than à l'extrême :-) but it is very close and less ashy...

I blind bought all three a while ago. Love them all but I don't really get to wear A L'Extreme a lot since it's more formal.
