A thought: In the older days, the reason for a poster bed was to close the heavy drapes around your bed. Obviously you can’t do a poster bed but maybe make a tent out of some heavy fabric. Use some magnets on the ceiling of your vehicle to hold a rope and then put the fabric over it and then it could easily be put up as needed.
Man, you make me miss the military... I just love how we can keep our humor no matter what. Civilians just aint built like that👍 Glad you didnt wake up dead. Catch ya on the next frozen r us episode 😅

Good to hear from you! I was getting eager to get some news 😅 I’m glad to see your setup holds up to extreme weather! Oh and I wanted to mention that your video editing is amazing! You go beyond what is needed and it shows 😊
I have an electric throw that instructs - DO NOT lie on top of it. Only lay it over you. Secondly, I’ve heard that strategically placing those little silicone packets, that are found in certain food packaging, are good for absorbing interior condensation that forms on windows. Winter is coming - start collecting them now. Love your humor.
Put a fleece or summer sleeping bag inside your sleeping bag to double up and it’ll help. Zero degree bags make a big difference. Balaclava and gloves go a long ways so does a bottle full of warm/hot water in your bag. How’s the 4Runner working out for you overall?
Yes! All tried and true methods of keeping warm, thanks for sharing. Thanks for sharing. A zero degree bag is definitely on my wish list. Perhaps for next winter. The 4Runner has been great! All good times, and no complaints from me. Team 4Runner for life 🙌🏾👽
@@theoutdoordad7395 Good question! More room is always an appreciated luxury, but I never feel like I necessarily NEED it. For my needs, I have enough room.....for now.

Thanks a lot, homie! Haha, yeah, that push start is a drag sometimes 😂. Really wanna grab me a remote start at some point. I agree about the condensation. I had the windows cracked, but only a tiny bit to try and retain a little more heat. I’ll need to open them a little bit more to keep it more dry in the future. Thanks for hangin’ with me!
Dude! I'm not even halfway through this but I had to stop and say once again you entertain and inform like no other... incredibly solid information presented logically and clearly while being funny as hell. Thank you! 🤣🤣🤣
You have to separate the front from the back with blackout curtains to contain the heat. Put the windows covers up. Is you don’t have heat you need a big ass candle
What about one of those thermoelectric fans for the Mr buddy? Funny enough I have the same exact fan that you have lol I also have a yeti goal zero lead acid power bank I use in my minivan no build I have a twin sized heated sheet pad I use as my primary source of heat. I also have two rechargeable hand warmers that come in clutch. Also I just bought one of those UCO 3 candle lanterns the UCO candelier. It is rated for 5000 BTUs I tested it out once what I found out was at least it will keep the van warmer for a lot longer after I turn the Van off. Thank you for sharing and I will keep watching
Nice setup!! I love the idea of the thermoelectric fan. Perhaps I’ll try it out if I start needing the heater more. I definitely need to get my hands on (or in) some rechargeable heated gloves! My hands are the first thing to go 🥶. Thanks for hanging and sharing, homie! 👽🙌🏾
Thank you so much! I was also very impressed with the temp inside the sleeping bag. Almost unbelievable lol! Maybe I need to make sure my thermometer is calibrated correctly 😂👽
I’m so glad I found your channel. I live in So Cal and have been wanting to experience van/truck life. I just bought a SR5 Runner same year as yours! I’m about to watch ALL your videos. Thank you!!
Great video! Have you considered getting one of those damp rid containers used in closets to remove humidity? Not sure how well it would work at those temperatures though.
Oh, wow, never thought of that! That’s an awesome idea! If humidity starts to be a real problem in there, I’ll definitely look at this as a solution. Thanks so much for sharing, and hangin’ with me 🙌🏾👽
Good video, Dude. I have a 4runner (‘19 Premium)that I set up similarly for sleeping in. Have a solar generator and use 2 USB clip on fans with a window or two cracked for ventilation. It’s a great buggy for this, but at almost 70 years old, I don’t think I’ll be doing it at those freaking cold temps. 😊😅. Stay safe.
I put "living in my 4Runner" in the search and this video popped up first. Just finished watching - very informative and a hoot to boot too🤣💓. I've subscribed and going to watch your build+setup video next. Great stuff - thank you for sharing!
Check the 5Amp fuse inside the 12V plug on your blanket. It might be blown. But I saw the light come on so maybe not. I wonder if the Goal Zero won't let it draw enough current to warm up. Some of these electric blankets draw a LOT.
I thought it might be the fuse as well, until I saw that same light. Yeah, I might just need a blanket that draws less 🤷🏾♂️. Thanks for your input, homie, and thanks for hanging with me!
I watched one of your previous videos where you show the breathable window shades. What do you do for ventilation on rainy days/nights? Your videos are great and very informative!
Thanks so much! I have rain deflectors/shields on my windows. So if it’s rainy, I can crack my windows and turn on my small fan to keep it vented and comfy. Thanks for hangin with me! 🤟🏾👽

Heated blankets are not made to be sleep on. The coils in the blanket do break. It’s only built to be on top.
