How do i change my card pin, in malaysia. Also, I wonder why some wise card can use payWave, some can't? Although the contactless limit has been changed.
Hi 👋 It's not supported to change your card's PIN if it was issued in Malaysia, since local ATMs don't support that function for external cards. Should you travel to the EEA/UK area, then you can change the PIN in an ATM. We did have a contactless issue in Malaysia, but this function should fully restart after you do a CHIP+PIN payment or a balance inquiry at an ATM. If you need any further help, and want us to look into your latest card payments, do reach out to us: wi.se/contactus.
Hey there 👋 There’s no need to worry about converting money before travelling because when you spend money it will be taken from the balance that the local currency is in. If you don’t have the currency in your account, then we’ll automatically convert the amount for you. The money will be taken from whichever available balance has the cheapest conversion fee. You can find more info on this and other tips on how to use your Wise card here: wi.se/getting-started-with-wise-card If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us on our other social media platforms or via phone and email here: wi.se/contactus
Excellent video in 7 minutes covering everything we need to know about the card. Seen a lot of other videos on TH-cam that just beats around the bush. May be one more thing you could have covered is how to withdraw currency from an overseas ATM? Do you need to have the local currency balance in your Wise account to get the best rate?
Hi, Rajesh. We're really appreciate your feedback, and are delighted to hear you found our video helpful 💚 Also, we always recommend that you spend or withdraw cash in the local currency of where you're currently located. That way, the ATM, or merchant won't be able to carry out the conversion for you, and charge hidden fees. Plus, you'll leave any possible conversion to us, which we'll carry out at the live mid-market rate. More info here: wi.se/tipsforforeignatm. So, you can either hold enough of the local currency in your balances, and there won't be any transaction fees when spending or withdrawing cash. Or, in the event you don't, our Smart Conversion Technology'll convert it from the available balance with the lowest conversion fee for you. Read more here: wi.se/smartconversiontech. We hope this clarifies. But, if you've more general questions, feel free to reach out again. We'll be here for you.

I have a question, I'm gonna travel to Kazakhstan this end of the year. Should I convert my current balance (MYR) to USD first before use the Wise card at that country? Because I can't find KZT currency in the Wise app.
Hi, there. Currently, we don't support KZT currency in our balance feature yet, but rest assured that we're working on expanding our scope to provide localized experience to our customers. To answer your question, it'll be up to you if you'll convert it in other currency. But note that Wise has this technology that checks whether you have the currency you need to avoid fees. So for example, if you have an EUR currency on your account, and you're using your Wise card within the eurozone, then our system will automatically deduct it from your EUR balance. So in your case, even if you don’t have it in your account or if it's not supported yet, you can still spend money. Our Smart Conversion technology will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. We've covered this here: wi.se/smartconversiontech Usually, if travelling abroad, we'd suggest converting to the currencies you need within Wise before spending. But since KZT isn't on the list yet, you can decide whether you'll convert it to USD (if you have the balance open), or leave it as is. We hope this clarifies, and let us know if you have clarifications 😊
