They try to trick us there by first showing Kira and her mother running from The Garthim, then they show a Gelfling try to heal the crystal. On first viewing, one might just assume that it's Jen, but looking at it again, it's clearly Rian, and the shard doesn't fit.
I thought the Gelfing with the shard was Jen, but now that I look, it's Rian. It's said that the Skeski's made fake crystal shards to hinder the Gelfings in the Garthim war.... god that's going to be devastating.
But the shard that the Gelfling found in the Dual Glaive was the real one (when Rian stabbed the General Skeksis with the sword, the crystal shard within began to drain him of his essence,) so the question remains: If the crystal shard in the vision is fake, how did the Gelfling end up with it when they have the real one...cliffhanger and spoiler alert!
Doesn't the process require the alignment of the 3 suns to put their energy into the crystal to bind the mystics and skesis? Like if Rian does it on a Tuesday or something it won't do anything?

I was thinking more because it wasn't the Great Conjunction it wasn't time to heal the crystal yet, which is why Jen was able to heal it, of course Rian will not be privy to this knowledge. Which is why when Aughra tells the Stone and the Wood Gelflings to prepare to survive not rush to war, that hit home! Cause it wasn't the time to take on the Skeksis just yet.
Special appreciation for Nathalie Emmanuel. A sweet character like Deet could have sounded quite cheesy or one-dimensional with another voice, but Emmanuel gives her such warmth I just want to hug Deet all the time.
Whether it's Deet & Rian or Brea & Rian as possible parents of either Jen or Kira, I'm just sad knowing that our beloved characters in Age of Resistance do not survive.The vision really does look like Brea running from the Garthim and Rian is the one on the crystal trying to heal it.
When Rian attempts to heal the Crystal of Truth with a false Shard, his failure would mean than he must suffer a terrible fate at the hands of the Skeksis. To avoid this, I believe that he would rather offer his life to the Burning Shaft under the Crystal. He would drop to his fiery fate whilst offering the power of his life-force to his offspring through the Crystal itself. "Avenge me, and heal our World!"
Brea has to be Kira's mother. Remember in the movie when Kira and Jen visited the Gelfling ruins and Kira sat on what looked to be a throne? It could be a big hint that Kira is the last of a royal bloodline.
Really sucks we will never know the fate of Deet, the darkening has consumed her completely. I hope maybe disney+ picks it up and continues the series.
I personally believe that she’s a fake-out and that Kira’s mother is none other than Seladon. In a now-deleted tweet, Seladon’s sculptor revealed that she was modeled after Kira and that she was her mom
If there is any show that deserves a second season it's this. This story is beautiful. Wtf Netflix you can't leave us hanging like this. Lead us into the Dark Crystal movie at least. Not at some random visions/cliffhanger. Deet is my favorite. I hope her and Rian give birth to Kira. She has to be mother to one of them. But then her fate is sealed if she does......Dickhead Garthams and Skekassholes 😥😥😥

However, judging by the behind the scenes stuff, this show was ludicrously expensive (it is the equivalent to five Dark Crystal movies, after all), and I wouldn't be surprised if this show literally needs to be almost as popular as Stranger Things to justify a Season 2. Still, most of this is speculation, so take this comment with a grain of salt.

Easily the most important scene in the show. Should there be a second season (and there _should_) then it's neat foreshadowing. But even without another season these glimpses allow you to bridge the gap between the current events and the 1982 movie yourself. This show truly is a beautiful gift.
Image if the shot of deet on the throne meant she'd have a moment with skekso, like a hero meets villain at the death scenario. Like they're destined to meet face to face, say deet causes him to start dying.
If Kira and Jen aren't reborn versions of Deet and Rian, I wonder if Deet might be Kiras mother afterall since both of them seem to have a good connection to plants and creatures and Kira being raised by Podlings might make sense if Hup feels like taking over the responsibility to protect her. I would assume Rian is her father then though, but there is no denying about him and Jen looking a lot alike, so it might be possible for him to be his father instead afterall. Unless Jens parents are Brea and Kylan, since Kylan also shares a resemblance to him and might have left a good impression on Brea. Plus, Kylan was playing the same flute Jen is playing in the Dark Crystal, so who knows, maybe the flute was a gift from his parents.
Jim Henson, if you're somewhere out there, please use your saintly influence to guide Louis Leterrier away from the path of darkness. Don't let him turn Deet into a villain; at least, not completely. At the VERY least, allow Rian and Deet's love for each other to remain incorruptible.

Hey guys since the sculptor of Seladon said his only order was to have her look like Kira, what if Seladon is her mom, died befor the scene, Brea the aunt tries to save her niece and Kira assumes it was her mother since it was her first memory ?
Oh that would explain a whole lot, and would certainly make me feel much more to see Seladon of all Gelfling to stay and fight for her sister to bring her daughter to safety.
Think the baby with mother is Jen as a baby. Jen mention in the film he was left in the field and the mystics found him as a baby. Kira was a toddler when the garthim attack her village and her mother hid her in a tree until a podling found her and took her of his village and raise her before it got attack and she lived alone in the wild. I really hope somehow Kira is deets daughter cause the podling that would find deet would be Hup and would make a lot of sense.

I know many believe Rian and Deet are Jen’s parents(which could be the case) but am I the only one who thinks there’s a strong possibility that Rian and Deet are actually Kira’s parents? The case for Rian being Kira’s father: I always thought it was interesting that Rian’s girlfriend in the beginning Mira has a name that sounds too similar to the name Kira, Mira and Kira? Hmmmmm🤔. Perhaps Rian has a daughter and named her after his first love who had a tragic death. I also thought that the throne that Kira sits on in the original movie looks very similar to the throne that the Madura of Stone Wood sits on.(Rian’s Clan) Since the Clans are ruled by a matriarch, that could have been a foreshadow that Rian’s daughter Kira would’ve been the next Madura of Stone Wood. The Ruins in the original movie look extremely similar to the architecture of the Stone Wood throne room. It would be nice to see Rian succeed in saving Deet from the Darkening since he wasn’t able to save his first love Mira from The Skeksis. The case for Deet being Kira’s mother: Deet’s character is very similar to Kira. Deet is very in tune with nature as well as Thra’s creatures(and so is Kira). Deet befriends a Fizzgig just like Kira, and she also is close to Hup, a podling. Which is interesting since the Podlings took care of Kira, after her parents were killed. I also always wondered what Augura meant when she told Kira to “call the animals, you have the gift” in the original film. Well Deet is given the power of the Sanctuary Tree, could it be that Kira inherits that power unknowingly from her mother? Deet’s Madura also used the same sound Kira did to call the land strider. The case for Brea being Jen’s mother: I also think there’s a chance for Brea to be Jen’s mother. Brea is Clever and enjoys learning and asking questions, which is interesting since Jen was the most learned between him and and Kira. Kira didn’t even know what writing was until Jen told her they were “ Words that stay.” Jen was the one who was able to read and understand the prophesy they found written on the Gelfling ruins. This is Similar to Brea figuring out the riddle in episode 4 that brought Lore to life. Brea is also seen at the end of the series holding up the lost Crystal shard very reminiscent to how Jen held up the shard before healing the Crystal in the movie. We never see Jen’s parents in the original movie, so what we saw in Deet’s vision could have been Jen’s mother Brea, and not Kira’s mother. I also wonder if Kylan could be Jen’s father. He’s seen playing the same flute-like instrument that Jen plays in the movie. Kylan also has some visual similarities to Jen. Who knows what will end up happening, but stories do tend to have a few twists and turns, so before we assume that Rian is Jen’s father just because of some visual similarities and a brief glimpse of a vision, we should also look at some clues within the story itself too. So I figured I’d put this forth as an idea. As a minimum I do hope Rian and Deet end up together regardless whose parents they are, but for right now I’m thinking Rian and Deet are Kira’s parents and Brea is Jen’s mother.
Rian looks too much like Jen. I keep confusing the two of them. The prequel takes places over a thousand years before the movie, IIRC. Rian could be Jen's grandfather if not father.
I agree that Rian has some visual similarities to Jen, but I don’t think we can know anything for certain if it’s only based off looks alone. We’ll just have to see where things go as the series continues.

Kira meanwhile has a tunic pattern resembling the talisman that poor Vapra Clan girl had to give to the Skeksis during the tithing, so given that and the resemblances, I suspect Kira is a Vapra descendant.

Crazy idea: wouldn’t it be cool if Rian and Deet were somehow reborn like Mother Aughra in the show? Rian is reborn as Jen and Deet as Kira, and maybe that’s why it was Rian in Deet’s vision instead of Jen.

Thats what I think as well, but it makes me wonder if Deet is also Jen's mother or possibly another Gelfling. It showed a hint of romance happening with Deet and Rian.
Brea was also attracted to the Gelfing from the desert that gave her the bone charm necklace, though whether they get more screentime together (and whether or not Jen and Kira's ancestors/parents are further revealed) might have to depend on future seasons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It was the right shard, it was just the wrong time to heal the crystal because the 3 Suns weren't aligned. I was starting to think that Deet was Kira's mother because she has literally the same traits as her (sweet, caring, talks to all of the Thra creatures). After watching the vision, it shows what looks to be like Brea running off with Kira in her arms because in the movie while Jen and Kira are dream fasting Kira says her mother hides her in a tree from the monsters. I believe Rian and Deet are Jen's parents because they Rian and Deet love each other and Rian looks very similar to Jen and I think Rian will use the shard to some how save Deet from the Darkness. Which leaves the question of who is Kira's Father? I could be wrong folks, this is just my theory. We wont know the answers until the next season!

Spoilers you’ve been warned!! The fact that the Crystal shard Rian used was also in the dual glaive means one of two things, the Skeksis swapped it later in the series(it was probably planned for before the series was cancelled) and Audra found it and kept it hidden after the Skeksis killed the gelfling Or it was a fake the whole time and the heretic and Urgo were tricked into putting it into the blade and Augra collected all the fake shards after the gelfling were all killed for Jen to figure out which was the real one later on
The shard in the sword was the real deal, judging by how it drained skekVar when he got stabbed in much the same way skekTek got partially drained when he played around with the Crystal in episode 1. Why it didn't find in the vision could have a few reasons. Maybe they end up misplacing the real shard (Augra in the movie has several potential shards lying around and doesn't know which is the real one), or it just won't fit outside of a Great Conjunction.
The one running with the baby is Brea. Watched it 0.25 speed. In the movie, Kira memory was her mother put her in a hole in the ground before the Garthaim Capitec her. Mistery solved: Brea is Kira's mother. Gurjin is her father, like they wrote on wiki. Means deet and Rian will be the parents of Jen.
The Gelfling inserting the shard into the Crystal of Truth IS Jen. Jen is Rian’s son. Brea is the mother of Kira. Deet becomes consumed by the Darkening and is doomed to become the new villain after the Skeksis are reunited with the Uru in a sequel series (since Age of Power seems to have at least been partially retconned as Deet herself is based on a character from that comic).
Idk, there isn't any light from the Conjunction so they may not have actually done it right, either by inserting a fake crystal or just doing it in the wrong time.

Actually there's a way that Dark Crystal season 2 might return, if you look at the website of the petition for Dark Crystal season 2 which many people are tribute for Dark Crystal season 2 so we don't have to wait for the Dark Crystal season 2 to come out in the year 2058, and so despite how much the project is going to highly cost.
My guess is that Rian and Deet ARE Jen's parents. And Brea is Kira's mother. Maybe Kylan could be Kira's father... Hopes for a season 2 in the future...
Theory: Spoilers for the YA novels ahead The one to heal Deet will be none other than Naia. In the novels, Naia has the ability to heal the Darkening by dreamfasting with other creatures (an ability that Deet also seems to possess) with no consequence on her part, effectively repelling the Darkening rather than absorbing it. The Drenchen also possess healing Vliyaya (Vliyaya is Gelfling magic, literally translating to “flame of blue fire”) so that adds to the theory. Also Season 2 when?
According to "Legends of the Dark Crystal", the Garthim war lasted 200 trines, and since Brea seems to be Kira's mother... How long are gelflings supposed to live ??
As much as the flashback is trying to show hints towards Jen and Kira, they're also replaced with familiar faces, Jen is Rian, and Kira's mother is Brea. But can I pop off and ask? What would Kira and Jen be if claimed to the Clans? Would Kira be a Vapra and Jen a Stonewood? It's really confusing. Their genetics and stuff don't match any of the clans, so id like to personally know what and who and why.
I know the show is said to be a prequel (and I've read all the comments about the shard Rian has either being a fake or used at the wrong time ultimately resulting in his death) but there's always a possibility the creators may go a different route and have the resistance triumph in healing the crystal and making the Skeksis and Mystics whole again. After all, Augrah did say she saw many endings, good and bad so perhaps we may see a good ending here and the movie is one of the bad endings since the Gelflings are all but extinct there. But hey, it's just a theory.
We need a 2 hour movie sequel to this show that links to the 1982 movie showing what happened to Deet, Garthim wars, crystal bats, birth of Kira and Jen as both got adopted, who Jen and Kira’s parents are, the false shards mixed with real ones, creation of prophecy and more
We could also interpret that Rian dose in fact heal the crystal, but since its not a great conjunction and we can't see the Skekis or Uru present that the Skekis just re broke the crystal then made the decoy crystal as extra protection.
I’ll admit that scene threw me off completely the first time I saw it. At first when I saw Brea with the baby from the Garthim (that confused me, since they were nowhere to be found throughout the show, but more on that later), then I swear I thought that was Jen on the Crystal, but after watching a couple more times I figured it was Rian. Then Deet, and DANG that terrified me. She’s a nice character, but to see what she might become? I’m gonna guess that Deet is going to find a way to prevent the Darkening from consuming her next season. As for Rian and Brea, their fates may be sealed. But to think that Brea is Kira’s mother, that honestly makes me feel really excited. Next season is gonna be crazy for sure
Unfortunately, I haven't read the books, so I wonder is there any possibility that Kira and Jen are kinda reincarnations of AoR gelflings? I mean, each of them return to Thra after all, so maybe Jen could share some of Rian's vliya. Perhaps it would make the vision more symbolic.
Has anyone noticed that Rian just can't seem to hold onto a sword? SkekMal knocks his sword away at the Circle of the Suns, the Nurloc knocks it away here, and the Hunter takes away the Dual Glaive and breaks it before throwing it down. Are the makers of this series trying to symbolically "emasculate" Rian?
So Kira looks very similar to brea and her sisters like there from the same clan. And Jen is from the same clan as rian it seems And does anyone remember from the original movie when Kira and Jen are dreamfasting she says how her mother put her in a tree then it shows her grabbed by a garthim well the mother was wearing the exact same clothes brea is wearing in this vision 👀
Here's my theory of what possibly happens with Rian in the vision. Rian has the real shard and the Skeksis have a fake shard for unknown reasons. While entering the castle to get to the Crystal, Rian has a confrontation with the Skeksis and Garthim. During the scuffle the shards are knocked around and Rian unfortunately grabs the wrong shard. When he manages to escape he finds the Crystal and sticks the shard in only then does he discovers it doesn't fit. The Skeksis arrive afraid Rian healed the Crystal only to see nothing has happened. Rian is either captured or escapes to be killed by the Garthim in the Garthim Wars, and somehow the true shard comes into Aughra's possession.
Or he couldn't figure out that the Great Conjunction must happen in order to heal the Crystal? And only thought to pop the shard back in, but it was at the wrong time?

My theory is that this is foreshadowing a Dark Crystal sequel series. Rian dies putting the shard in at the wrong time, Brea and Rian are Kira’s parents (perhaps named in honor of Mira and another Gelfling?), and Deet will be transformed into the main enemy for Jen and Kira to face as they are rebuilding Gelfling civilization...
I really do hope this doesn’t end horribly we know what happens to these characters the end of season 1 shows the creation of the Garthim which leads to the Garthim wars which ends with the Gelfling being completely eradicated save for Kira and Jen who I’m pretty sure are the last of their kind so really all of these characters besides Augra and the Skeksis will die by the end of this show unless they hide somewhere but that also wouldn’t make sense because this takes place many many years before the movie
I feel like that was jen is Brea son reasons is because kira was put under a tree during a battle and it's possible during the last days Brea who I think is the mother of Jen ran while her husband along with the last warriors were trying to fight off the garthim. Whos he's father? I think it's Kylan. Reason I think their his parents? Kylan plays the quietus hair style and Brea is because of her love for books and knowledge. You can see it.
So is all of this happening before the movie dark crystal, because the vision that deet had is telling here that the gelfling clan will be wiped out and shows kyra’s mother running away from the beetles.
What if Jen and Kira werent the only Gelfings left? What if Deet became immortal due to the darkening she was holding within herself and she would have been the next thing the other two had to defeat or help?
can we even be sure that this will play out to the original movie with Jen and Kira and that the future may not have been changed in some way. ..or that this is only one possible future anyway. I mean the Chamberlain killed the General and in the movie it is the General that becomes the new emperor...so if that's changed why can't other things have been changed as well. Unless anyone can become General and it isn't the same one I don't think it was an accident that they might have removed a key player from the series that was in the movie. They may be pointing to an alternate timeline. Just a thought...the General dying has me thrown for a loop since he was in the movie.

I can't believe they cancelled season 2! We want to see Deet's vision revealed! Even a 2 hour movie might suffice as a conclusion.
I wanted that PLUS a short reboot of the original Dark Crystal AND for the 2010 sequel to the film to be UN-CANCELLED!

Whether it's Deet & Rian or Brea & Rian as possible parents of either Jen or Kira, I'm just sad knowing that our beloved characters in Age of Resistance do not survive.The vision really does look like Brea running from the Garthim and Rian is the one on the crystal trying to heal it.

When Rian attempts to heal the Crystal of Truth with a false Shard, his failure would mean than he must suffer a terrible fate at the hands of the Skeksis. To avoid this, I believe that he would rather offer his life to the Burning Shaft under the Crystal. He would drop to his fiery fate whilst offering the power of his life-force to his offspring through the Crystal itself. "Avenge me, and heal our World!"

Brea has to be Kira's mother. Remember in the movie when Kira and Jen visited the Gelfling ruins and Kira sat on what looked to be a throne? It could be a big hint that Kira is the last of a royal bloodline.
Watching the first movie, though, the ruins couldn't be anything else but Stone-In-The-Wood. They were in a forest, not a snowy mountainside ruin.
I'm one of the few people who think Rian is Kira's dad. I think she is Stonegrot, explaining why she is drawn to the Stonewood throne.

If there is any show that deserves a second season it's this. This story is beautiful. Wtf Netflix you can't leave us hanging like this. Lead us into the Dark Crystal movie at least. However, judging by the behind the scenes stuff, this show was ludicrously expensive (it is the equivalent to five Dark Crystal movies, after all), and I wouldn't be surprised if this show literally needs to be almost as popular as Stranger Things to justify a Season 2.

Easily the most important scene in the show. Should there be a second season (and there _should_) then it's neat foreshadowing. But even without another season these glimpses allow you to bridge the gap between the current events and the 1982 movie yourself. This show truly is a beautiful gift.

Image if the shot of deet on the throne meant she'd have a moment with skekso, like a hero meets villain at the death scenario. Like they're destined to meet face to face, say deet causes him to start dying.
If Kira and Jen aren't reborn versions of Deet and Rian, I wonder if Deet might be Kiras mother afterall since both of them seem to have a good connection to plants and creatures and Kira being raised by Podlings might make sense if Hup feels like taking over the responsibility to protect her. I would assume Rian is her father then though, but there is no denying about him and Jen looking a lot alike, so it might be possible for him to be his father instead afterall. Unless Jens parents are Brea and Kylan, since Kylan also shares a resemblance to him and might have left a good impression on Brea. Plus, Kylan was playing the same flute Jen is playing in the Dark Crystal, so who knows, maybe the flute was a gift from his parents.

I see the future......I think I saw.......Kira's......mother running from a Garthim.
Think the baby with mother is Jen as a baby. Jen mention in the film he was left in the field and the mystics found him as a baby. Kira was a toddler when the garthim attack her village and her mother hid her in a tree until a podling found her and took her of his village and raise her before it got attack and she lived alone in the wild. I really hope somehow Kira is deets daughter cause the podling that would find deet would be Hup and would make a lot of sense.
the bigger question is, when will the Garthim come on the series and are the Garthim and the crystal bats the only creatures the Skeksis created?.

The case for Rian being Kira’s father:
I always thought it was interesting that Rian’s girlfriend in the beginning Mira has a name that sounds too similar to the name Kira, Mira and Kira? Hmmmmm🤔. Perhaps Rian has a daughter and named her after his first love who had a tragic death.
I also thought that the throne that Kira sits on in the original movie looks very similar to the throne that the Madura of Stone Wood sits on.(Rian’s Clan) Since the Clans are ruled by a matriarch, that could have been a foreshadow that Rian’s daughter Kira would’ve been the next Madura of Stone Wood. The Ruins in the original movie look extremely similar to the architecture of the Stone Wood throne room.
It would be nice to see Rian succeed in saving Deet from the Darkening since he wasn’t able to save his first love Mira from The Skeksis.
The case for Deet being Kira’s mother:
Deet’s character is very similar to Kira. Deet is very in tune with nature as well as Thra’s creatures(and so is Kira). Deet befriends a Fizzgig just like Kira, and she also is close to Hup, a podling. Which is interesting since the Podlings took care of Kira, after her parents were killed.
I also always wondered what Augura meant when she told Kira to “call the animals, you have the gift” in the original film. Well Deet is given the power of the Sanctuary Tree, could it be that Kira inherits that power unknowingly from her mother?
Deet’s Madura also used the same sound Kira did to call the land strider.
The case for Brea being Jen’s mother:
I also think there’s a chance for Brea to be Jen’s mother. Brea is Clever and enjoys learning and asking questions, which is interesting since Jen was the most learned between him and and Kira. Kira didn’t even know what writing was until Jen told her they were “ Words that stay.” Jen was the one who was able to read and understand the prophesy they found written on the Gelfling ruins. This is Similar to Brea figuring out the riddle in episode 4 that brought Lore to life.
Brea is also seen at the end of the series holding up the lost Crystal shard very reminiscent to how Jen held up the shard before healing the Crystal in the movie.
We never see Jen’s parents in the original movie, so what we saw in Deet’s vision could have been Jen’s mother Brea, and not Kira’s mother.
I also wonder if Kylan could be Jen’s father. He’s seen playing the same flute-like instrument that Jen plays in the movie. Kylan also has some visual similarities to Jen.
Who knows what will end up happening, but stories do tend to have a few twists and turns, so before we assume that Rian is Jen’s father just because of some visual similarities and a brief glimpse of a vision, we should also look at some clues within the story itself too. So I figured I’d put this forth as an idea.
As a minimum I do hope Rian and Deet end up together regardless whose parents they are, but for right now I’m thinking Rian and Deet are Kira’s parents and Brea is Jen’s mother.
Rian looks too much like Jen. I keep confusing the two of them. The prequel takes places over a thousand years before the movie, IIRC. Rian could be Jen's grandfather if not father.
I agree that Rian has some visual similarities to Jen, but I don’t think we can know anything for certain if it’s only based off looks alone.

Kira meanwhile has a tunic pattern resembling the talisman that poor Vapra Clan girl had to give to the Skeksis during the tithing, so given that and the resemblances, I suspect Kira is a Vapra descendant.

It was the right shard, it was just the wrong time to heal the crystal because the 3 Suns weren't aligned. I was starting to think that Deet was Kira's mother because she has literally the same traits as her (sweet, caring, talks to all of the Thra creatures). After watching the vision, it shows what looks to be like Brea running off with Kira in her arms because in the movie while Jen and Kira are dream fasting Kira says her mother hides her in a tree from the monsters. I believe Rian and Deet are Jen's parents because they Rian and Deet love each other and Rian looks very similar to Jen and I think Rian will use the shard to some how save Deet from the Darkness. Which leaves the question of who is Kira's Father? I could be wrong folks, this is just my theory. We wont know the answers until the next season!

The fact that the Crystal shard Rian used was also in the dual glaive means one of two things, the Skeksis swapped it later in the series(it was probably planned for before the series was cancelled) and Audra found it and kept it hidden after the Skeksis killed the gelfling
Or it was a fake the whole time and the heretic and Urgo were tricked into putting it into the blade and Augra collected all the fake shards after the gelfling were all killed for Jen to figure out which was the real one later on
The shard in the sword was the real deal, judging by how it drained skekVar when he got stabbed in much the same way skekTek got partially drained when he played around with the Crystal in episode 1.
Why it didn't find in the vision could have a few reasons. Maybe they end up misplacing the real shard (Augra in the movie has several potential shards lying around and doesn't know which is the real one), or it just won't fit outside of a Great Conjunction.

The Gelfling inserting the shard into the Crystal of Truth IS Jen. Jen is Rian’s son. Brea is the mother of Kira. Deet becomes consumed by the Darkening and is doomed to become the new villain after the Skeksis are reunited with the Uru in a sequel series (since Age of Power seems to have at least been partially retconned as Deet herself is based on a character from that comic).
Idk, there isn't any light from the Conjunction so they may not have actually done it right, either by inserting a fake crystal or just doing it in the wrong time.
I believe Deet is Kira's mother because they share the same gift of connecting with animals and the rest of nature.
Seems like Brea is going to be the mother because of the future vision of her carrying a child away from the Garthim. The movie also portrays Kira's mother as Vapran-like, so she might be Kira's mother who will also die.

Actually there's a way that Dark Crystal season 2 might return, if you look at the website of the petition for Dark Crystal season 2 which many people are tribute for Dark Crystal season 2 so we don't have to wait for the Dark Crystal season 2 to come out in the year 2058, and so despite how much the project is going to highly cost.
How many did they signed to make it happen. It come out in 2025 that’s my quess. I don’t want to wait in 2058.

The one to heal Deet will be none other than Naia. In the novels, Naia has the ability to heal the Darkening by dreamfasting with other creatures (an ability that Deet also seems to possess) with no consequence on her part, effectively repelling the Darkening rather than absorbing it. The Drenchen also possess healing Vliyaya (Vliyaya is Gelfling magic, literally translating to “flame of blue fire”) so that adds to the theory.

As much as the flashback is trying to show hints towards Jen and Kira, they're also replaced with familiar faces, Jen is Rian, and Kira's mother is Brea. But can I pop off and ask?
What would Kira and Jen be if claimed to the Clans? Would Kira be a Vapra and Jen a Stonewood? It's really confusing. Their genetics and stuff don't match any of the clans, so id like to personally know what and who and why.
I know the show is said to be a prequel (and I've read all the comments about the shard Rian has either being a fake or used at the wrong time ultimately resulting in his death) but there's always a possibility the creators may go a different route and have the resistance triumph in healing the crystal and making the Skeksis and Mystics whole again.
After all, Augrah did say she saw many endings, good and bad so perhaps we may see a good ending here and the movie is one of the bad endings since the Gelflings are all but extinct there. But hey, it's just a theory.

We need a 2 hour movie sequel to this show that links to the 1982 movie showing what happened to Deet, Garthim wars, crystal bats, birth of Kira and Jen as both got adopted, who Jen and Kira’s parents are, the false shards mixed with real ones, creation of prophecy and more
We could also interpret that Rian dose in fact heal the crystal, but since its not a great conjunction and we can't see the Skekis or Uru present that the Skekis just re broke the crystal then made the decoy crystal as extra protection.
I’ll admit that scene threw me off completely the first time I saw it. At first when I saw Brea with the baby from the Garthim (that confused me, since they were nowhere to be found throughout the show, but more on that later), then I swear I thought that was Jen on the Crystal, but after watching a couple more times I figured it was Rian. Then Deet, and DANG that terrified me. She’s a nice character, but to see what she might become?
I’m gonna guess that Deet is going to find a way to prevent the Darkening from consuming her next season. As for Rian and Brea, their fates may be sealed.
But to think that Brea is Kira’s mother, that honestly makes me feel really excited. Next season is gonna be crazy for sure

Has anyone noticed that Rian just can't seem to hold onto a sword? SkekMal knocks his sword away at the Circle of the Suns, the Nurloc knocks it away here, and the Hunter takes away the Dual Glaive and breaks it before throwing it down.

Here's my theory of what possibly happens with Rian in the vision. Rian has the real shard and the Skeksis have a fake shard for unknown reasons. While entering the castle to get to the Crystal, Rian has a confrontation with the Skeksis and Garthim. During the scuffle the shards are knocked around and Rian unfortunately grabs the wrong shard. When he manages to escape he finds the Crystal and sticks the shard in only then does he discovers it doesn't fit. The Skeksis arrive afraid Rian healed the Crystal only to see nothing has happened. Rian is either captured or escapes to be killed by the Garthim in the Garthim Wars, and somehow the true shard comes into Aughra's possession.
Or he couldn't figure out that the Great Conjunction must happen in order to heal the Crystal? And only thought to pop the shard back in, but it was at the wrong time?
Why are all the GREAT shows always cancelled?! It's like any tv series that shows pure creative integrity is just trashed after the first season!

My theory is that this is foreshadowing a Dark Crystal sequel series. Rian dies putting the shard in at the wrong time, Brea and Rian are Kira’s parents (perhaps named in honor of Mira and another Gelfling?), and Deet will be transformed into the main enemy for Jen and Kira to face as they are rebuilding Gelfling civilization...

I really do hope this doesn’t end horribly we know what happens to these characters the end of season 1 shows the creation of the Garthim which leads to the Garthim wars which ends with the Gelfling being completely eradicated save for Kira and Jen who I’m pretty sure are the last of their kind so really all of these characters besides Augra and the Skeksis will die by the end of this show unless they hide somewhere but that also wouldn’t make sense because this takes place many many years before the movie

Whomever they may be in relation to Jen and Kira. It's clear Brea, Rian and Deet are *the reason* they survived.
I feel like that was jen is Brea son reasons is because kira was put under a tree during a battle and it's possible during the last days Brea who I think is the mother of Jen ran while her husband along with the last warriors were trying to fight off the garthim. Whos he's father? I think it's Kylan. Reason I think their his parents? Kylan plays the quietus hair style and Brea is because of her love for books and knowledge. You can see it.

So is all of this happening before the movie dark crystal, because the vision that deet had is telling here that the gelfling clan will be wiped out and shows kyra’s mother running away from the beetles.

Man, I gotta stop watching all these clips and actually watch the show.
What if Jen and Kira werent the only Gelfings left? What if Deet became immortal due to the darkening she was holding within herself and she would have been the next thing the other two had to defeat or help?

can we even be sure that this will play out to the original movie with Jen and Kira and that the future may not have been changed in some way. ..or that this is only one possible future anyway. I mean the Chamberlain killed the General and in the movie it is the General that becomes the new emperor...so if that's changed why
can't other things have been changed as well.
Unless anyone can become General and it isn't the same one I don't think it was an accident that they might have removed a key player from the series that was in the movie. They may be pointing to an alternate timeline. Just a thought...the General dying has me thrown for a loop since he was in the movie.
SkekUng might become the new general and Garthim Master in season 2 since SkekVar died in season 1.
