Not so long ago I was listening to this in the car windows open and maybe got a bit carried away….I had to stop at traffic lights and didn’t realise a guy at the bus stop opposite was in the groove with me!!! Thing is I’m in my 60s and he was in his 20s!!! That’s what good music does. It’s multigenerational ❤
I saw vinegar joe in 73 opening for wishbone ash at the Warehouse in new orleans , elke was amazing , robert palmer was great too, painted gold head to toe with just briefs on
Saw this lady 8 years ago and was still singing the same, my husband bought the tickets earlier in the year but he passed away before we went so took my daughter, also that night she sang Why was in tears as it was 5 months after he had gone
It's getting so near the end and they are still going strong. 10 seconds left 9.8.7.6.5 then Bosh, Bosh, Bosh with Elkie's hand movement ( in a good way ) saying " Stick THAT up yer Jacksie"....Briliant !
voice has aged fairly well (in 2006) - 'orrible fat old dude singing back-up ...... but I was there when Vinegar Joe was in their prime and man, she was a 10-Star Babe-o-Rama!!!!! wild on stage, too
The background singers need to go. Your vocals are bad ass! The song is too polished for what it is. You are a total ROCK N ROLL, R & B vocalist! Think Janis, Grace, Ann Wilson, Chrissy Hynde.. YOUR AS GOOD AS ANY OF EM! GO ON TOUR! IF MICK IS DOING IT... ❤
Like the old wine Elkie !!! uauuuuuu

I remember seeing it at the time. Bought the album on the strength of the programme, even though it was mimed.
I remember reading a Melody Maker headline in 1974 proclaiming the year of Elk

One day you'll be old too, if you're lucky. Don't knock it.
the future is uncertain & the end is always near
Gritty & Pretty & Rockin' *****
Doesn't it sounds like "Roudhouse Blues" from "The Doors"?
that's the geezer on guitar that played on paul's "now." saw that tour
yep...
Saw her on her 70 th Birthday tour a few months ago Brilliant but she owes me some signed "stuff" that she promised to send me (on stage)
Have you got it yet Clive? :)
She is 77. Has she sent it yet? :)

Excellent, is that Geoff Whitehorn on guitar? and maybe Brian Baddham on Bass?
Yes to both !
Hi Mr J M
Deep Purple covered this fairly recently. I love that band but Elkie outdoes Ian Gillan on this one.
You know a, my Linux friends have a strange mind and they're getting real good. Let it roll, baby, roll...
