I have a propane range in the kitchen just because Hawaii loses power often. I can also grill outside on propane and further, our on-demand propane water heater is self-starting, so as long as the water company can supply water, we can have hot showers. Our water company also installed emergency backup power to keep the water supply up when grid power is down. I back all that up with a portable butane burner. I recently bought two EcoFlow Pro 7200 Solar generators. (The Christmas sales were great!) I use one to power our network and TV/PC system and the second one is dedicated to the fridge and our two deep freezers. . With Aloha...
I got my EcoFlow Delta 2 and an extra battery. This with solar panels is amazing. To the point I’m using it with the grid and or generator as backup for when we don’t have solar ☀️ I took my refrigerator off grid. 90% of the time. Thanks 🙏 My egg, yours now🤔
8:48 Did Safety Sally pass out when Julie nearly caught her arm on fire? I hope Sally's broken leg heals soon! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, though, I'm glad you caught that and pointed it out to us, even though I saw it right away. My arm hair burns off whenever I do that. No Monday would be complete without a new video from you. Keep them coming!
I cook on my woodstove all winter and in the summer in my solar oven and my wood powdered smoker bbq. I've only used my propane stove probably 3 times last summer.
In PR (hurricane path) many homes have an outside kitchen which incluye a ("fogón") this is an inprovised stove which have different variations but could be concrete block, Stones, or repurpose of some metal parts. These are the base for the pots and pans and we cook with wood.
I still have, and use, my fathers old Coleman "White Gas" camp stove AND lanterns. I'm in my 60's and I think the stove is ALMOST as old as I am but it just keeps on working.
Yes please-I would love to see a video how you compare your water-glassing eggs. Julie-super cute t-shirt, where did you buy it? What brand are your pots? Are they Teflon-free?
electricity is expensive as F the last years here in Norway. I have been cooking on my woodstove the last 3 years during winter. When I got used to it, it was easy and fun.
I have a single burner Butane stove that can be used inside without any concerns. It light's it's self, no matches necessary. A stand alone small stick stove from 4Patriates. Using up wood in your surrounding area for fuel. That stove needs to be used outside only.
Don't forget the good old campfire worst turns to worse go out on the side of your garage in a clear space where you won't burn anything and just start a fire
your new stove some time light one burner on same side and second burner turn it on some the gas go down the pilot light tube and light second burner. 2: safe way light burner is use a barbecue light so hand is not so close to the burner (that I use some time my electric starter do not light the burner )
How about ventillation? The regulators trying to rid us of gas stoves keep harping about how bad gas stoves are. At the same time, kitchen ventillation has changed from exhause fans to filtering fans the do not exhaust outside. What is you take on this as the stove hood doesn't work without electricity? My opinoion is that gas burns very clean and emissions are not a problem, Food burning during cooking (including splatter) is probably responsible for more emissions than the gas (and this is the same with electric stoves).
This all depends on the size of your house and how long you run your stove. Marty said this, and I agree 100% that you should have a carbon monoxide detector. I'm sure if you have a tiny house, or if you cooked all day, the CO build-up would be a problem. But, the CO detector will tell you, as long as you test it to make sure it's working.
@@theclearsounds3911 My first house (built in 1990) had a gas stove and a exhaust fan and was a mormal 3 bedroom house. My current house built in 2000 has a gas stove and filtering fan that does not exhaust to the outside. It is a 4 bedroom house, somewhat larger, but I have seen normal 3 bedroom houses built after 2000 with this same setup. My house has a CO detector, but it is in the basement next to the furnace and hot water heater (both gas). My opinion is that exhaust fans that vent to the outside should be standard. Filtering fans that do not exhaust to the outside are for energy efficiency. Why are the allowed if gas applicance are as "bad" as those pushing us towards everything electric want us to believe?
guess you don't have anymore home build related projects to do. Getting tired of your money grab/promotional 'fee paid' video's so am unsubscribing. Wishing you well in your monetary endeavors.
I noticed thr dog bed up against the wood burner that really dose not look like a good idea if that caught on fire it would go rite up the stairway ??safty Sally would not approve!

My wood stove is going from November to May. I use a Dutch oven on top for some baking, a skillet for frying. It's a Kuma, made in Rathdrum ID.
This was a helpful video! 👍
So glad it was helpful!
can't wait for the indonesia vlog and seeing your impression about all the change after 6-7 years

We have a whole house generator hooked up to natural gas, a barbecue, a fireplace, an outdoor fire pit. So we are good, and prepared.,
It's cool you're inside and not outside. When weather is decent 45°F and above.
Sun ovens are great resource for cooking

Look up "Swedish torch log" you can cook on it and heat a tent (with a pieces of pipe).
electricity is expensive as F the last years here in Norway. I have been cooking on my woodstove the last 3 years during winter. When I got used to it, it was easy and fun.
I have an antique kerosene cookstove, and my stainless steelcamp store
to use if the power goes out.
I would like to see the video of the water glass eggs.
Hey Marty u should try the rocket stove they are good to cook on to
I would love to have a wood-burning stove … but we live in a mid-terrace house with no chimney, and it would cost a fortune to build one.
I have a single burner Butane stove that can be used inside without any concerns. It light's it's self, no matches necessary. A stand alone small stick stove from 4Patriates. Using up wood in your surrounding area for fuel. That stove needs to be used outside only.
a mre several candles a alcohol stove homemade. a battery

The best portable butane gas burner is IWATANI MADE IN JAPAN but here i n USA! 👍
As a prepper are you interested in amateur radio?
I like to see the waterglass egg video.
Great video, but I don’t understand why you walk around with your fly open( at 7:35)🤣
4 ways here, gas stove, fireplace insert, Coleman stove, grill on deck.
I open a can of chili eat it cold. Or use a camping stove. I can remember lighting a stove with a match was normal.
Don't forget the good old campfire worst turns to worse go out on the side of your garage in a clear space where you won't burn anything and just start a fire
Sun and mirrors or wood stove. We get almost 90 percent of sun during the year in the desert. Maybe a month or two of cold weather during the year. 🐓
Coleman stove in the garage or gas grill
I use my grill
gas stove or on the bbq
Solar cookers when possible. Or campfires, even w/snow..😂😅😊❤
CNG grill or fire pit

Why and how often do you loose electricity with your off grid battery system and back up generator?
If you lose electricity don't you lose water also?
Not often at all. But it is always good to be prepared.
One option you didn't show was cooking something inside the wood stove. Like potatoes or fish wrapped in foil.
hallo apa kabar, sehat selalu pak johnson😊
Kapan anda dan keluarga ke indonesia lagi pak martin?
Salam dari Yogya pak
1 minggu lagi. Nonton Channel Pak Martin ada informasi.
I think they call the one you're eating right now over medium

Salam dari Indonesia.
Kapan masak di Indonesia.
Sehat selalu di USA
All those battery backups you own, and you didn’t plug in an electric stove?

Your Ecoflow segment looks like a crime scene. Who amputated Safety Sally’s leg? Ha!
So who injured Safety Sally? Can't be a safe work site if she's lost a leg.
Right? 😆
Black stone
