I’d love to know why this lock goes from the cycling locking itself or the striker extends itself and locks so you then can’t do anything with it. Obviously some trick to it. What should be a 5 minute job is turning into 2 hours just trying to work the key to get the door unlocked. If anyone has any tips it would be appreciated

If you figured it out, I'd love to know the answer, I think this is the same issue I'm having right now.
Fortunately I've figured out the problem with my old lock was the striker plate was too far away, due to door movement over time, so I've been able to pack that & get the old lock working again for now, but dam if I can figure out how to get the new lock to work! Seems to be something with key turning/not turning & striker extending, but I just can't figure it out
