Well you see, he definitely practiced this a lot and therefor knows which positions to abuse, and when to use a bomb where there is no other way. He can't allow himself to bomb all the time, because they are required to survive some of the impossible cards. Therefor he managed his limited resources, knowing when to do and risk certain things.
When I looked at the ultra extra stages, the normal extra stages, and this one guy's comment talking about how the patch makers just slapped on a x2 on various parts of the code, I kind of have to agree. It really doesn't look much different. Just more bullets that are faster, which I'm kind of disappointed at since they didn't really do anything different to the patterns the bullets make, which not only would that make a nice surprise, but it would also do more than just slap on more bullets.
@Ihavenoname248 Because her familiars take a lot of time to properly control and aren't very strong unless you are bombing, which doesnt do anything to Koishi. Reimu A's bombs clear out the entire screen at least. And her power is stronger.
i played TH14 the first time, i reached the 6th stage and than came this spell... it costs me 5 of my 6 lives... it was so strange to have a giant hitbox o.o
I mean, it'd be cooler to see people change the patterns rather than just slap on more bullets. But from looking at it from another perspective, ultra does force you to actually use bombs and also forces you to time them as well.
