I would say Spring Day is one of the best songs RM and Suga have ever written. It’s timeless and really hits right at the feels. Everyone can relate and interpret it their own way and it will hit the same. Friendships ending, Love lost.. Such a beautiful song.
I agree, I think it captures grief and loss better than anything else. It's such a beautiful work of art. It's not my favorite BTS song but only because it's in its own category somehow. There are songs, and then there's Spring Day. Outro:Tear is sort of there for me too; it's another one about grief, from a different direction, but just as powerful. They really are brilliant songwriters 💜
I love watching people go utterly still as Jin approaches the statue. 😂 It's such an effective use of silence, it grabs just about everyone the same way. And you got the central theme of Blood Sweat and Tears! Well done, it's so visually overwhelming and there's just so much in it 😁
The imagery in the music video corresponds to the tragedy, but the song was written before that and had to do with losing friendships for other reasons, which is why the boys have also used the song in other situations. (Ex: They sing it on TinyDesk in reference to people being separated during the pandemic, but having hope that they could meet again some unknown day in the future.) The song is so poignant because it is easily interpreted to fit in many situations of loss and separation from loved ones of any description. Because of the timing of its release, they ended up making the music video speak to the devastating loss of life in the Sewol Ferry incident, but it was never intended to only be for that.
Spring Day has never left the Melon music charts sing it debut in 2017. Every spring and every time BTS releases new music it rises back up the charts. Spring Day is the Queen.
Also want to add that I’d definitely recommend the explanation video by Italian ARMY, however, as emotional as just the MV made you I’d recommend maybe watching it on your own time. Have tissues at the ready. 💜

The real emotions and tears come with Spring Day when you understand the backstory of the song which is based on a true tragic event.
