I laughed so much every time you showed the clip of you whispering: “I also made a full video on that by the way.” !!! 😂 You are a pleasure to watch and these clips where you break down tv scenes are very helpful. I wish you would do some videos all in French! 💕
So very cool to dissect the interesting convo between Camille et Andrea. I remember that scene very well. Merci pour une autre vidéo géniale, Geraldine!
gosh i love the french language but oral comprehension is hard. without subtitles or lyrics (pour musique) i am lost. but then again best french teacher ever. thanks Geraldine.
i'm watching Zone Blanche for this very reason. i love learning and picking up new French sentences from it. My fav so far are: *Tu sais quelque chose?* meaning "You know something?" And *c'est comme ça* means "It's how it is."
I love those break downs! After watching the whole series of 10% with French subtitles my understanding of informal spoken French massively improved and your videos help me pay attention to certain details. Only trouble is, now I finished this show, I don't know which one to watch next ^^' what would you recommend? Thanks!
One thing our instructors had us do was reports from books for eight to twelve year olds. And movies he assigned. It was not easy explaining the books and movies to someone in French so that they would want to read the books themselves.
Mancroft - The drawback about Le Monde is that most of its articles are reserved for subscribers. I prefer the French version of Slate, which has a much clearer layout and is free of charge. It may be too advanced for some, but you might want to give it a try: www.slate.fr/
When she said Je vais prendre une coupe s'il vous plait?? Comon, she really said that long sentence and sounded like one sound??? Really does french ear can recognize what she said there?
I you don't have an earing disability yes. But, there's noise, music, someone else is speaking at the same time... I guess that's hard to make out if you're not used to speak french in a noisy environment :D Let's be honest, french people tends to muffle the begining of their sentences a lot (because it often contains a pronoun and an auxiliary or short verb that are basically useless for the general understanding of the full sentence). So even as a french, I had to listen to it 3 or 4 times to make sure she actually pronounced "j'vais". Because even if she just had said "'prendre un coupe s'il vous plait", we'd still be able to guess the sentence started with "j'vais" :D I guess you could call it a vocal mirage at some point... Our brains are probably able to make up for missing start of sentences.
Bonjour madame, an excellent lesson. May I politely correct your English pronunciation? ' A long-winded way..' The letter I is short, and rhymes with the I in bin, gin, pin, sin and tin. You said it wrong, to rhyme with the I in wine, dine, or mine. 'Long-winded' derives from the second meaning of 'wind', which is 'breath'. For example: If I run too fast up a hill, I will be out of breath. Sorry for correcting the teacher, your mistakes are conspicuous because they are rare😛
But "hein" can also be used on its own as a question. It's a vulgar way of asking someone to repeat, when you don't understand. You can also use it to express surprise. It's more an onomatopeia than a word... but very commonly used. I think much more than huh is in english.
I only watched this to get a free view of the show. I'm still on the fence. Je regards cette video pour l'émission parce que n'ai pas une compte pour Netflix
NAN?Is that a typo? You said it is a polite way to say NO. NAN appears twice instead of NON.I've searched my dictionary and can't find it in the French section.
It's a slangy way to say "non". Like in English when we say "nah" instead of "no". Same thing with the "ouais" for "oui". Like in English when we say "yeah" instead of "yes".
Is the "j'pensais pas" not more like "I didn't think I would" in this context? "Tu sais que tu m'as manqué" (I missed you, you know), "Ah bon?" (Oh really?) "J'pensais pas" (I didn't think I would)

Exactly!! I've even come here on youtube from the blog just to comment on the same. It was super hilarious 😂😂
J'aime cette série! Merci de bien expliquer les expressions!
God, I loved this show. Most underrated show on Netflix.
I loved Call My Agent; one of my favourite French series!
Could you break down a scene with Hervé? I have to rewatch scenes with him at least three times.

Wow, this was great. Thank you for making this! I’d love to see more. :)
J'aime bien cette vidéo. Hyper utile. Merci
Bonne vidéo. Merci. J’adore ce thème.
sooooooo helpful thanks.
12:53 - I love this series ! - & have probably watched it 3 times so far ?…😂
…& French cinema in general..
J’ai vu dix pour cent, trois fois! C’est mon prefere 👏🏽
Merci professeur Géraldine
My tante Judie told me to think of manque as 'lack'. As in, 'Tu me manques' can be thought of as 'you I lack'. It does help (a bit).
Merci beaucoup Geraldine. Et Bonne Anniversaire. Je comprend "Dix pour Cent" mais votre lecons aid moi comrend tout. Bonne Journee.
I started watching this very good series
J'aime beaucoup Au Service de la France que t'as récommandé. Je peux pas croire que j'en ne savais pas!
It is like spend years to learn correct french. Then spend years to learn the one which is used actually used. Then when you get old, go to Paris.
The reverse order is probably the best way. If you just do step #3 for a few weeks you will find you make some progress on #2.

Family Business on Netflix. Très drole.
Bien venue professeur GèRaldine et bon travaill l'ècol francais très bien, merci
Géraldine. Which French newspaper would you recommend an intermediate French learner reads?
Le Monde

Bravo!!
I love the show!!!!
Splendid!
Vous pouvez aussi faire des vidéos comme ça mais tout en français ? Ça nous aidera trop

Super, vídeo muito legal :)
Hi Géraldine, can you explain pronunciation of ‘h’ and liaison, in and im at the beginning of words and aille? Sylvia
Haha Géraldine - moi aussi j’ai déjà regardé un vidéo qui se parle de ça.
This is more difficult for me I will stick with formal French 😅🤣
“I’ll have a flute please?”

Je regarde Dix pourcent et Je t"adore ! Je ne pas Jeunne, mais je parle comme ca en anglais. Eceque propre pour moi parle comme ca en francias ?
English, Dude!! Get over it, or get your own channel. Tabarnak!!!
"Hein?" is the same as "Huh?" in English and use in the exact same way. "It's not easy not being my assistant anymore, huh?"
Yes or maybe, ‘eh’. ‘It’s not . . . anymore, eh?’
@@alexrafe2590 That sounds more Canadian and some northern states, like Minnesota and Maine. However, both DO seem to fit the french “hein”.

Bonjour Fiyol, moi je suis française et je dis "dix pour cent" /di pur sã/ mais dans certains accents on peut dire /dis pur sã/. Bonne journée!
J' adore le series. Je parle comme ca on anglais. Mais je ne plus jeunne. Il est OK en parle comme ca on francias ?

I have been pronouncing the title of the show "Dee" pour cent. Does dix not work like six?
I'm native and do pronounce "dee" but it's not incorrect (albeit uncommon) to pronounce "diss" - same goes with six.
♥️♥️
Is that how close the French get in each other's face?
