We have the Dulux Avista concrete sealer (used to be ParChem) applied to our drive way and it lasted 6+ years. Only started to flake off a little in very high traffic areas after six years of use. Very good product comparing to the rubbish and more expensive drive way paint from Bunnings.

I watched this video and thought I should be able to use this product as a DYI. I did concrete grinding to ensure a good surface, washed and then applied the base coat with a rubber tipped broom squeegee. I followed the 3.6 litres to a bag and found it nearly impossible to get a decent enough smooth surface but thought I would be able to smooth it out with a hand stone before stencil taping and spraying the colour coat. What a nightmare. I ended up getting the concrete grinder onto it and grinding the whole surface off again. I think I really needed at least 4 litres of water per bag, but more likely closer to 4.5 litres. I have reasonable experience with concreting and finishing but this has stumped me.

Should you do the acid wash the same day you start with the primer then the rest? Or do the acid wash then guerney and let it dry for a few days, then do the primer, etc??

Should you use a pressure washer if you have a coved finish concrete driveway?

Hi John, It's fine to use a pressure washer, but don’t hold it too close to the surface or it could damage the texture. Please contact our Customer Service team on 1800 801 108 if you require further assistance & are based in Australia. Contact number for NZ is 0800 657 156. Unfortunately these are the only countries where we sell and support these products. Thanks Chris

Hi, my concrete driveway is reasonably steep and is about 40 years old. There are no cracks and the aggregate is exposed on the surface due to wear. Will this product adhere to the exposed aggregate on the surface and how well does it grip in comparison to normal concrete? I'm very keen to resurface my driveway and concrete additions all in the one colour. Are there contractors that can resurface my driveway in Wollongong NSW?
    Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @mrcaps1971, thanks for your comment. Yes you can resurface over exposed aggregate, and will probably give a better result on a steep driveway than exposed aggregate which can sometimes get quite slippery. The applicator would just have to change the application slightly by putting down 2 coats of the base coat, and make sure there is no sealer already on the exposed aggregate. If you fill in this form on our website: www.duluxavista.com.au/find-an-applicator/ we will get back to you about an applicator in your area that can help. Thanks.

Would a 60L 3HP air compressor be suitable for a job this size? (hopper gun)

Hi Lachlan, yes this size hopper gun should be ok for a similar sized job to the one in the video. Thanks.
