The last game I went to in January of 2017, I remember looking at my friend and saying can you believe they’re gonna tear this place down?! It still looks brand new! Just very odd to me.
If they woulda built the palace downtown the building woulda lived another 30 years. I'm just confused as to why they demolished the arena man there wasn't a bad seat in the house. I had a feeling that it would be the last time I'd see it when I went to Kobe's farewell tour Dec of 2015 I soaked up every minute like it was my last. The palace of Auburn hills is my Boston garden it's my spectrum it's my Chicago stadium. I'll never forget the times I had in that building.
The only facility older than the Palace was MSG, from the stories I heard. They were building luxury suites UNDER the stands. The nature of the high dollar customer had changed so much that the facility was hopelessly out of date.
The Palace was awesome, as good as any other venue around, Its so shameful that there was zero wrong with it other than it wasn't downtown . I think Pistons had more crowds in palace than LCA gets

Cool video did you happen to go into the old TV Broadcast studio box ?
Priceless, but heartbreaking footage.

From what I've heard they wanted to expand the suburban living. 😕

Seems like yesterday I was there at Warped Tour.

Same demise as Richfield Coliseum in suburban Cleveland. Both arenas had character....replaced by generic oval seat containers. Sad.
I remember seeing Ariana Grande there. It was the final concert I ever went to there.
so so sad this news:-((
😭😭😭
What day was this taken?
