Nice to see someone who still provides real "customer service." Even a couple of years after the business that did the work has technically closed. From personal experience, that's not always the case. Thanks for the video.

The newer houses all want big, steep, cut up roofs. They do look nice but the cost and problems they cause. I work in construction on and off my whole life and after seeing the problems I knew I wanted simple straight roof. Reason I'm talking roofs is the valley's of that house in that inset carry a lot of water and with these large roofs using that 5 inch gutter heavy rains will over shoot the gutter and end up right where the problem you had was. There should be 6 inch gutter on that house and splash guard on the inside corners of the gutter to keep the water from ending up just where the problem was. Light steady rain the 5 inch will carry the water just fine but I bet you go there and see a good heavy rain or down poor it will look like a water fall in that area.

Amazing how different things are done in other areas of the world. Here in Canada the garage and crawl space footers would be the same depth as the basement footers, mind you we have 4 ft of frost minimum. Also you would never want masonry underground. 5-6 inches above finished grade.

@@sassafrasvalley1939 yeah so true, I'm a retired tile contractor. For over 10 of my 30 years in business I specialised in new construction residential and commercial. Did a lot of high end custom work for 8 different builders. That one small job I did was a favor for one of my builders, had a hard time turning down elderly home owners in that neighborhood, after the 6th job I started referring them to a very good friend that had the same level of training and OCDism as I.
Had to do something as I had a job about to break open in a custom home that ended up taking 2&1/2 months to do. That job led to jobs along the gulf coast, good place to spend the winter, live rent free on the property and do a bit of fishing.
