24th Annual Camaro Nationals 2023 Car Show | Camaro Show | Car Shows

The 24th Camaro Nationals was held this weekend July 13th thru 15th, 2023, at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown PA. The event is produced by the American Camaro Association, a Not-for-Profit club comprised of Camaro Hobbyists. The ‘Nationals’ are presented by Classic Headquarters, Wheel Craft, and the Classic Auto Mall, and co-hosted by the Long Island Camaro Club, the Northeast Ohio Camaro Club, and the Lehigh valley Camaro Club.

Camaros that will be displayed indoors, are unloaded and staged in position on Thursday morning and afternoon, and the official event starts with a Kick-Off Cruise on Thursday evening, headed to Shady Maple PA Dutch Smorgasbord. Friday morning opens at 8AM with registration for pre-registered and day of show f-bodies (Firebirds Welcome). Car owners have the day to clean up their cars, explore the new venue and exhibit halls, as well as check out the over 800 classic, antique, muscle cars and barn finds in the Classic Auto Mall. Registration closes late afternoon, allowing time to clean up and get ready for the fun Friday Night at the Annual Classic Headquarters sponsored Banquet, followed by the Annual Charity Auction. Saturday morning is super busy as tons of “Day of Show” cars arrive all morning. Judging starts around Noon, and awards are usually around 3:30 or 4pm when all the votes are tabulated. Saturday arrivals are going to have a tough time trying to get it all in…….based on pre-registration at this point, you can expect around 1000 cars inside (about 100 of them being Camaros) and another 400 or more outside. Add in the vendors, and a day will not be enough!

The Camaro Nationals are produced by a group of Camaro owners, who volunteer their time for the good of the hobby. The thought originally formed in 1998 after the Camaro Street Nationals East ended, after thirteen years in the Pocono Mountains of PA. As one of the reasons the Street Nationals ended was the limited availability of large hotels, the first Camaro Nationals were held in August of 1999, at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania. We arranged to have space during what was then called Summer Carlisle, an automotive flea market along with motorcycles, and foreign cars. Due to the August heat, we changed dates several times, as the show grew. The Camaro Nationals remained at Carlisle through 2010.
After the 2010 show, the need for more indoor space, along with other situations, lead us to look for a new home. After considering many locations and factors, the event was moved to the Frederick Fairgrounds, in Frederick Maryland, south of Gettysburg, PA. We remained in Frederick from 2011 through 2021.
2022 finds us at our third location….Morgantown PA. Specifically - at the Classic Auto Mall & Expo Center. This great venue offers more than twice the conditioned indoor space of the Frederick Fairgrounds, over 1000 classic and antique cars on the property in addition to our Camaros, and an attached Holiday Inn.
There is plenty to keep you busy…..a Kick Off Cruise, indoor and outdoor displays of Camaros, 4 levels of judging, a banquet, a Charity Auction, food and parts vendors, evening parking lot parties, a casino, antique shopping, Shady Maple Smorgasbord, and great friends.
