Many of the cars presented are in my opinion way over priced.
Right!
Most are priced higher than they want. The best prices and deals are on the last day
I have to agree. All these car collectors think they are Barrett and Jackson. It seems like everyone is asking way too much.
I agree!
yep, sellers are delusional and dont want to accept that peak prices have come and gone, and that consumers are pulling back, so unless you price to actually sell, your car is just going to sit there.
These people are smoking Crack with prices 😅
I'm selling cans of rust only $1,000 per can but please don't get carried away it's only one per customer
A friend of mine back in 1989 at spring Carlisle, bought a 69 Nova ss 396 4 spd. With 36,000 miles for $6,000, it was mint.
Key word "89"
@@garymcgill6092 no shit
@@Duece-xl2mc That's really the point you fail to see. The prices 35 years ago are irrelevant. But historically when you go to these swap meets prices are always inflated when you have a captive audience.
All of the prices are high, but especially the 6 cylinder Camaro that's a $2-3 grand car
Yes, and when you add in the costs to restore these vehicles to even a drivable state...whew. I do think the blue Mustang convertible at $26900 isn't too out of line since it's a good, solid platform for any upgrades.
I looked at that while I was there and didn't notice until this video that it has FIREBIRD rear spoiler ends on it.
The 70-73 Camaros did have 'solid panel' side pieces, but they still had the forward slant, (almost as if they were predicting the clearance that would be needed for those '74 wrap around taillights)
@@jamesharding4056 good catch
Yeah but it comes with a sweet milk gallon for the radiator... Sheesh
On a 70 camaro, original front fenders are 1k each these days, the seats are also worth about 1k, one year only.
Ill never understand paying top dollar for clones.
Well done clones are bringing top dollar these days - actually since 2018. Sold my '66 big block, 4 speed, 12 bolt Chevelle SS clone with a frame off for 59,500.00 last spring...
Because most originals are out of reach out of sight! 2-3x or more that of a high priced clone.
I'm not a clone or resto-mod guy, but if I won one in a sweepstakes I would drive it.
I see these prices and realize a new vette is the best bang for the buck.
A 2008 or 2013 Corvette (427) is a solid investment.
With an original 289…the blue 65 mustang would come standard with with five lug bolts …the six cylinder cars received the four lug wheels
mustangs got 4 lug..302.. i had a set of wheels off one, they fit ford escort., as do saab 9000. alfa, ect.. ausie.. with a clone 340 r/t, 340.. sublime. 75 h/boy. 62 f100 4x4, swb.. 352 FE 9''..
4 lugs on 74 and up through the 80’s on Mustangs
Always blown away by your knowledge and ability to retain it. I love when some old guys test your knowledge. Good job Parker.
Keep reading a list and it sticks. That's a big brain in anyone's head. Infinite.
Those cars are so beautiful....
Born during a time when originality, design and a vehicle's personality were more important to automotive manufacturers than sales numbers and profits. Vehicles of today, have no character whatsoever.
The Games got to Rich for the poor boys ! Born in 70 I remember you could buy these cars nice & Drivable for a 10th of todays price ! If we only new ! 🤔✌
Knew.
@@johnbragg2014he no’d that
You could buy a brand new "loaded" 1970 LT1 Convertible Corvette with both tops for $6200.
37000 for fake ss seems really high i wish my dad wouldnt of sold his 71 convertible in early 2000s would been worth triple what he sold for
If the work was done recently, I would understand what the price is being so high but I do agree 37 is high
This particular clone appears to have been done properly. The car doesn't know it's not a true SS. Worth the money and I would think 35k would get the deal done.
I agree, that’s a $27K car all day. I’ve owned a dozen Chevelle’s. Easy to find one like this for 23-28K.
Yeah but our moneys worth a lot less then it was 20yrs ago too
@zephead4835 Car doesn't have a Brain. The person buying it does. 37k for a clone SS? No thank you.
Love the guy with all the Trucks. He sounds like Matt Foley (Chris Farley) pushing truck sales down by the river
An hour went by and no thumbs up on that comment..lol 👍
10.2 hours ive been racking my brain trying to figure out that voice and YES its Matt Foley ,hope he sells them trucks so he can get some more suitable accomadation than that van down by the RIVER
That was fun, thanks for bringing us along! -Glen
Thanks Parker ! A valued video, especially since you got to talk with some of the great people who sell at Carlisle. 👍🤙
Parker a great video. I used to often go to Spring and Fall Carlisle. I also had a 1976 455 Trans Am i bought in 1977. Exactly the same as the one you showed on the video. 455, 4 speed, black on black, no chicken on the hood (which I believe was an option) and hon jk eycomb wheels which were I believe also an option.
I live in Ontario and in about 1977 i drove it to Florida. I had stopped for gas somewhere in Georgia and was on an on ramp to enter I75 south. Had just switched into 3rd gear and noticed a 911 Turbo coming up on me. I jammed it back into 2nd and stood on it. Almost immediately had to change back into 3rd and when i did he went past me like i was standing still! These cars were boat anchors! Just thought i would share that story.
I can strap a chev 350 to a shopping cart and it'll go fast, too. But I'd rather drive the Trans Am.
For me livein in New Zealand it's really nice to see price's of these vehicles. I'd never buy a new late model chev or Ford, it's highly obvious that all of these vehicles are becoming more desirable and the prices are appreciateing . I live in a town of about 4000 and I know of probably seven different American classic cars in the town. There's only one way the price of these can go .. And it ain't down..
Great video, always good to see you out and about in Carlisle. Awesome job you do to educate people on the world of classic cars😊
Those guys are right Parker, you do a great job with your channel! Keep it up buddy👍
I was there on a Saturday, the weather was great, but was surprised not many cars. Last time I was there was over 10 years ago.
The red C10 is a 67 not 68 - you mentioned the chrome grill those could be an option,. The thing that would make it a 68 is it would have sidemarker light's...67 didn't have them because they weren't required to.
My class mate had 442 olds cutlass supreme salon, a real go getter in the day.
I really enjoy your chatting up the show vendors!
The dude in the red hoodie needs his own channel! Dude put a truck inside a truck!
Thank you sir great video!
At least I know where not to look for a collector car.
There's a real 1970 SS Chevelle across the street from me, just rusting away.
Amazing preview! The Spring Carlisle Swap Meet 2024 looks like it's going to be incredible. Thanks for the sneak peek!
Nice content. Thanks for sharing the details of trucks and cars that you don’t see. Details details it’s in the details.
James classic car cafe is just the very very best operator ,you want the best you got the best ,So glad you spent some time with this humble legend
I love the 1948 REO Speedwagon!
$37,000 for a SS wanna be? The gap on the Mustang trunk lid would have made me walk away. Glad I didn't go this year.
T.Y. for showing phone #'s (slow enough to read this year) I almost didn't watch cause last yr. couldn't see # to save my life. Lol
EXCELLENT vid. Parker & camera person.
I started watching halfass kustoms only a few months before the fire and now it’s my favourite show and look forward to the next project and of course Pablo
Quite a few of my friends and I gather up to watch the next instalment here in Australia
Loved the vid ,as always very informative. Cheers from New Zealand .
Nice job explaining a W30 Olds. Details details. The whole classic car market is in question because I only see older boomers owners. I don’t know how many younger people are into cars that are from before they were born?
I would tend to agree with you and many boomers I have spoke to are getting out of the market due to there age.I am a boomer myself and have lost interest in the ownership of classic cars.
@@sdc5683I’m a boomer but still hanging on to a few inexpensive street cruisers and I enjoy hanging out at the weekly show and shine events in my area of Central Texas. ACL.
Also as not as numerous in Texas as other states I go to swap meets to see if I need something.
However a lot old common SBC stuff that is not LS and not wanted, almost no Ford or Mopar. Most of those swap meet vendors are boomers too. I don’t see my children age group. Few young folks are really into cars like my generation is.
Same with scooters. My nephews and kids all ride and go to Moto GP here every year and they have no interest in anything that is not racing around the race track. I don’t believe Harley or The New Indian brands will make it. Unless they are bought by a foreign brand. I don’t think the sales are there as few young people are interested. They want what they see on the race track.
That's the big question alright
Besides prices being too high, younger folks also lack the nostalgic connection with these dinosaurs. Some don’t even recognize old marques such as Oldsmobile,Plymouth or Mercury. Plus,I’m not sure that they could drive a legitimate,400 horse,rear-wheel drive monster that, even with posi, lacks electronic traction control.
@@myleslong5584 "Oldsmobile,Plymouth or Mercury." And Pontiac..
Great video Parker! 😎 👊🏾 😎
Wonderful video, thanks!
So Cool! I used to go to Carlisle every year with my dad here in PA
I am just so glad to see you America loves you
Great show enjoyed watching your video ❤
Love a good Swap Meet!!!
Great vid and info.. thanks for sharing
All or mostly original is the way to go.
I love your channel! You are the next Steve magnante! Though no one can replace Steve, you are a close second! You are on your way to a very successful channel!👍
Steve is not all of that he always gets his facts wrong
@@danielknepper6884 we agree to disagree, jmho
I really enjoyed that video very informative buy kitty about the weather
Very nice thanks
Thanks for the tour. Asking prices I guess. Nice about a show like that if you bring some cash you can work some big bargains. Nobody wants to bring the car back home again.
Seeing this reminded me why I buy cars with fiberglass bodies.
as always, another great video! peace
I had a red 70 sports roof mustang with factory 428 4 speed bought from fast lane cars in st charkes mo ..beautiful car...I had them put a shaker hood scoop on ...did beautiful job
Love the videos Parker and I always give em a thumbs up. Been subscribed for awhile. I love going to Carlisle so thanks for making this video. Such a great place to be at and experience. Hope to see ya at the Camaro Nationals in July.
Helpful video I appreciate it
Awesome video… thanks buddy..
very interesting video. was there friday and seen most of the cars you showed but missed the king cobra thanks for posting the video
Ive never seen your channel before . Best video Ive seen for a while . Thanks.
Great Video !!
12,000 for a rusted Camaro I can pick one up for 1500 bucks. The completely finished cars are close the Mustang for 26 was a little low
Show it to me. But I will admit that particular one for 12.5K is ridiculous had some pretty serious rest on it
Fantastic video Parker. I would have e LOVED for you to walk around that 59 El Camino. I got a red 59 two door hard top impala.
Great job
Great video! Very entertaining and informative
The Firebird at the end was the one l would be interested in. I take it the car had no info sheet. My luck.Enjoyable video thanks
I love your vids bro...takin it to the people!!!
Great job on the video, I was there on Wednesday, the weather was better but it was a little early for the car corral
Butternut Chev. C10 had a chrome frt bumper which was a option instead of the white painted one & 72 started the white top two tone, I had the blue w/the white top.
Everybody says, One selling their car, I'd drive it to california and back😂😂😂😂 If you're going to california with your car stay there don't worry about coming back😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great video. It’s like walking around Carlisle in my living room. I’m now a subscriber.
I bought my 66 Charger in mostly original condition with original interior and one repaint for 17k. I had to look for a while but they are out there.
Great stuff. Next ramp truck you find see if they have any history. As im sure you know ramp trucks were supposedly born out of the drag racing scene in the 60s. Could be some real interesting ramp trucks out there.
Great job dude
Wonderful presentation 👏 I wanted to go this year but the weather was lousy and I’m traveling next weekend as well
That Ford truck seller with the REO Speedwagon sounds like John Force.
Good swap tour
New Subscriber I really enjoyed the video and thank you for spotlighting the Mustang 2 King 👑 Cobra 🐍 My Friend Had one identical and he did some tweaking to it and the little Cobra 🐍 was very Quick God as my witness I watched him walk away with ease in a Quarter mile Race against a 69 Elcamino 396 he couldn't catch the little Cobra 🐍
At the 28 minute mark....1965 Malibu convertible for $45k. Claiming to be a "professional " restoration and they put the trunk lid chrome strip on upside down. Yikes
Good catch. So much for the “professional” restoration. I’ll pass…
Especially with those ugly a** wheels.
*New Subscriber* : That was great ! Good gravy, 100k for a Mustang. No wonder Denis Collins is a multi millionaire ( more power to him ! ). Greetings from Prague. CZ
I enjoyed your content so I subscribed. Look foward to your videos.
Been to Hershey in 2017 over from uk and hoping to get back for 70th anniversary in 2025 and hoping to do Carlisle fall meet the week earlier, I will be Drooling 😄.
Great combo for sure!
OLD CARS ARE NOW SOLID INVESTMENTS
15:10 I was hoping for a tour of that '59-'60 ElCamino across the way! 15:30
15:52
this guy should have is own tv show..AAAAA
Nice one
Cool event
great vid! Love all those people that save that stuff for the rest of us unbelievable!
Would love to go someday! (btw tell the guy with the 97k stang 302 rain is bad)
That little bit of rain is no different than washing the car..... I take it you're a trailer queen type of it
Gotcha !!
Yes the swap meet Peace out
There is absolutely no bargain at Carlisle at least not anymore. back in spring1990 my friend bought a #2 cond unrestored 72 Chevelle SS Match #'s & all $ 6700 - seller had 2 to sell & no takers. saw a 65 Vette # 1 Cond practically - still remember cause it was that nice $25,000 no sell - still lots of money in 91
I think you should talk about the truck that's carrying that truck it looks rare
Was up there Friday. Feels like the show is dying. The car corral in the North field was gone; now parking and some random flea market people. The lower north field by old gate 6 was pretty sparse. Few if any projects in the north field and the main car corral was about 75% full. The infield had a lot of empty spaces. It was kinda sad.
I believe it’s free to register your car for the auction.. in the last few years more cars have found there way over there rather than the car corral.. flea market are looked fine to me.. weather was a factor this year as it usually can be… my thoughts
That 66 mustang was a fair deal.
Quite reasonable price for the Olds.. I'd take it.
Im so stoked that in the mid 80s is when I started buying Bronco's, Yota's, Old W200's, WM300's and flatty's most of them for under $1500. But Im a dumbass and sold bartered or got rid of them all. I just found an 87 FJ62 that hasnt been on the road since 1998 and just got it running.
Nice
It looks like an early Chevy 2 Convertible in the cover picture.
I was hoping you would get to that as I have one that I'm putting together.
Have a 1971 Z 28. Stored since 1977. Dissambled have all motor matching numbers 4speeed. Needs rotersire restore. Will sell reasonable.
Was going to restore.too old now.
Are you going to the Pigeon Forge rod run ?
89K you gotta really love that car
Smoking crack.
There are ZERO 455 HO engine trans ams built in 1976. Only regular 455s the HO option was dropped after 75. Buyer beware. Although they are very rare.
The only real 455 HO engines were 70 with 4 bolt main with number 64 dport high compression heads, and the 71 and 72. 4 bolt mains, roundport heads, aluminum intake, hp carburetor, ram air exhaust manifolds, and 068 camshaft.
The 75 455 ho was only a name. It was a run of the mill 200 hp, 7.6:1 compression, 2 bolt main, smogger motor, with same 067 camshaft, log manifolds as any other 75 455.
If it is an original 289 car it will be 5 lug. 6 cylinder cars are 4 lug
"Gotcha!" I'm gone
I really enjoyed the video..makes me sad I didn`t go ---maybe fall
As Crazy Eddie used to say....those prices are INSANE.
