    Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

In 2000 someone came to speak to us at our highschool in my freshman or sophomore year. He was a graduate of our small school and he had since gone out to LA and was involved in film making of some sort. I remember the gist of what he said being that just because you come from a small school doesn't mean you can't become someone bigger in life. I remember he made us stand up and clap quickly, then told us we had just boosted our immune system right at the start. My junior year I took Mass Media 1 & 2 all year long, then since there were no more available options I took on Journalism my senior year. In my senior year I helped make 2 different videos, one took first place in the county for "Whacky" video; the second was a 60 second advertisement for Key Club that took 2nd place in the nation. I had so much fun with those videos. It wasn't until recently I sat down and really had time to think about what I wanted to do in life outside of my IT job and I wrote a series of scripts that had me laughing and having goosebumps at times. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the end products were so good I got them copyrighted. I'm currently debating where I should go to college at age 36 with my GI Bill here in Florida. I'm thinking Full Sail since it will be 100% covered. I have a feeling since I now know what I want to go there for and have a clear vision and purpose I will be able to make the most out of it.

Using fire crackers as a gun sound effect. Thanks for the tip

He wasn't using it as the sound effect; he was using it as the squib. In other words, an actor had a lit firecracker taped to him or her and it exploded.

Network and make friends with filmmakers and actors. There are days where you can’t do it alone unless you have money to hire a crew as well pay actors

Never thought I'd hear someone say Steven Spielberg is just coasting along.

Tony Scott is another director who received critical praise for "True Romance" and "Crimson Tide" but then got bashed by the critics and received Rotten Tomato ratings for "Top Gun", "Days of Thunder", "Man on Fire", "Deja Vu", "The Last Boy Scout", "The Fan", and "Domino", all good films in the action-thriller sub-genre, IMO. "Spy Game" and "Enemy of the State" got slightly better reviews, but these films deserved way better than their current 66% and 72% RT scores, respectively.

I do want to write something good some day and I hope I can. Most likely i won't get any where but it's useless not to try, so thanks for helping in some of the early steps.
