This is 👌 and EXACTLY what I want to do! I am 52 and ready for a change. I have been solo traveling/backpacking internationally for 20+ years, visited close to 40 different countries and ready to move internationally for sure! I work in Healthcare and education (adult school) and need to find a way to make it work for me employment wise. I am looking at residing in Indonesia. Spent 2.5 weeks there and had the BEST time with the culture, people, food, weather. Definitely can see myself residing there. Any suggestions? Your Santorini trip looked fabulous as well. I spent 3 weeks backpacking in Greece in 2008 and enjoyed it all, (Athens, Mykonos, Crete, Samos) with Santorini definitely being a highlight. Soooo beautiful!
Great to see that another person my age wants to travel and escape the rat race. Negotiating the WFH job is impossible in my place. My boss has an obsolete mindset, she is even setting in person meeting in the midst of a pandemic. I am fed up with her and having a master degree in healthcare, experience and being bilingual in Spanish, I am sure it is possible. Good luck to you and safe travels!!!

Indians and Asians (the're in the same continent 🙄) would get hired to work for less so that it benefits Microsoft or Google financially, but Americans will be upset that all the good jobs go to foreigners.

They can bring in Indian tech workers who will do the job for a fraction of what US college grads can. Americans get squeezed from both ends.

But how do you work around the visa requirment for countries? I have talked with my employer about it but you cant get a work visa unless your company has an office in your desired location. If your working on a tourist visa thats not allowed.
Exactly. I think there is a lot of misinformation in this video. The other consideration is your employer has to pay taxes to the local tax authority if you work from there, which is why pretty much no company allows this unless they are completely transferring you abroad to that specific foreign office. If there is no business set up with the local tax authority they won't even consider it. Too much oversimplification of working abroad in this video without considering the business and visa ramifications.

Your manager is incorrect. You can't just work from a foreign country. There are tax liabilities for your employer if you do that.

But how do you work around the visa requirment for countries? I have talked with my employer about it but you cant get a work visa unless your company has an office in your desired location. If your working on a tourist visa thats not allowed.
Exactly. I think there is a lot of misinformation in this video. The other consideration is your employer has to pay taxes to the local tax authority if you work from there, which is why pretty much no company allows this unless they are completely transferring you abroad to that specific foreign office. If there is no business set up with the local tax authority they won't even consider it. Too much oversimplification of working abroad in this video without considering the business and visa ramifications.

Girl I quit I was totally replaceable and it was a trashy work environment no one liked me and I never liked them I am legit dedicated rn bc I can be to literally find my way to start packing this path I’m a single mom as well and I recommend to anyone if you can then you should definitely quit if it’s non negotiable tbh
