- Episode 2 follows on from the previous (naturally!) and focusses on Engine Start, Taxi, Takeoff and Climb in the iniBuilds A300-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator!
We takeoff in this episode into the cloudy pea soup over Manchester that is Storm Henk before bursting out into beautiful blue skies above.
Note for this episode which is quite important. There is a bug present in v1.0.1 used in this recorded (it's the version we all have as of 03Jan24) currently which means the iniBuilds A300 cannot do all SID or STARs nicely. Instead, if it decides it cannot make a turn properly then it'll just do something random.
This is where CHARTS and briefing your departure is so important - certainly for VATSIM pilots. If you know what you are meant to be doing, if the aircraft does something rogue then you can revert to another mode - or even handfly the procedure instead whilst you sort the rest of it out.
Hopefully iniBuilds fix it sharpish but I left it in the tutorials intentionally to show you other modes, and how to dynamically work around any issues you might face as I know a lot of you are experiencing this bug currently

Outstanding tutorials my friend, thank you for allowing me to enjoy this awesome A300.
Thanks for the series. Just purchased the A300 and transition from A310 will be fairly easy, but there's always something new in your vids to further smooth procedures and flows :-)
Appreciate it! Hope you're enjoying it 🙂
Excellent, I am looking forward to this series. Thank you so much!
It’s not a Boeing…:-)
Probe heat should be set on before engine start. In case you have the PW engines you’ll get a FADEC fault after start, which means you’ll need to switch the engines fully off, switch the probe heat on and start the engines again. Center fuel pumps should be on, actually all pumps, regardless of fuel quantity in order to get the auto fuel feed working. Spoilers should be armed in the after start flow. Most operators arm PROF and NAV before push back.
It might be fairly equal to the 767 system wise and therefore the 737, but it’s a different beast. Much cleverer than expected for her generation. :-)
Superb episode. Looking forward to the landing tutorial. Cheers
@27:20 Really digging that retro livery against the TCU backdrop.
Thanks very much.Love the plane and these tutorials 👌
wow, thats fast! Thank you very much!!! 👍
Episode 3 with the LNAV bug coming tomorrow 😅
Thanks for the series ! Always helpful😊………I had a lot of problems with the APU not starting, so I couldn’t power up the aircraft properly, opened a ticket at Inibuilds and they asked me to do maintenance on the APU…now I did not have water and tear on in the aircraft but still there was a maintenance thing to doo…..after this the APU is working fine now.
Yeah that's caught a few out - always check the maintenance tab! 😎
Nice vid will hopefully be doing this tonight...but in the dark ....gulps
I'm sure you'll be alright 👌
How did you get the WX radar visible and working? In my version the pedestal is empty right there. Very anxious to know this.
question on alt restraints seems that when i fly it always ignores the sid alt restraints usually i enter the tod alt before i take off in the alt window thought it didnt matter since it should follow the alt you set in the fmc?
I think their VNAV is quite off 😂 it doesn't respect any constraints on departure at all, speed nor altitude
yep i posted this question on their forum you need to set the alt restraints in on sid departure and not the tod or else it will flt y thru the restraints, different story on decent it will follow any restraints@@BritishAvgeek
How many physical detents does the throttle have? Or is it a straight 0-100%?
In the A300? There are no detents - just 0-100%
How did you get the value of -5 for the DH?
You're meant to set it to prevent a minimums call out or any other error reading on takeoff
yeah, the stabilizer trim is a "little" hard to see....
Neither the NAV, Profile, nor Auto Pilot will follow the route... ive read that this is an issue. Is there a workaround or fix?
sadly no - it's a bug in the recent versions and they are trying to solve a number of bugs still
How you setting up the nose weal steering ?!
It's just linked to my rudder pedals
Why wont my profile mode turn on?
You likely have a discontinuity or something similar in your flight plan
sO UHH WHERE THE GO BUTTON LOL
Set a keybind for TOGA - it's much easier than having to look at the throttles to press the button
You can also press the square black button on the far upper left of the MIP, works as a TOGA too and you don’t have to search for your throttles nor bind a key.😊
@@benvanboom8907 ah good stuff I hadn't tried it myself but knew it was there, thanks for sharing that great tip!
how do I set that?@@BritishAvgeek
yeah I saw that today but would like to bind that to the quadrant @@benvanboom8907
